The Golf Club Trieste is the first golf club to be established in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It was founded in 1954 on the 9-hole course created by the British and Americans of the Allied Military Administration immediately after the end of the Second World War.

Today the Padriciano course, which was extended to 18 holes in the early 2000s, offers a complete course suitable for players of all levels. The Club, in fact, pays great attention to the young and the very young, organising a large number of introductory golf courses. It is also a regular destination for many foreign golfers, in particular Austrians, Slovenians and Croatians, especially in winter when their courses are not accessible.

The splendid location of the course, set at an altitude of 350 metres between the rugged and picturesque Karst hills on one side and the sea on the other, offers guests stunning views of the Gulf of Trieste, from the lagoons of Grado and Lignano to the Istria coast.

Unspoilt nature, made even more fascinating by the meticulous care taken to safeguard the unique floral species, which not infrequently offers close encounters with the local fauna. All this just a few kilometres from the town centre.

It is an ideal place for sporting activities, especially in the difficult historical moment we are living through, unfortunately characterised by the pandemic. Being played in wide open spaces and on an individual basis, golf can in fact be considered as the sport that guarantees the best safety conditions. The club house, which retains an unmistakable “British” feel, a legacy of its founders, is home to an excellent bar-restaurant which, with its open-air terrace, overlooks the Gulf of Trieste, offering a unique and breathtaking view of Punta Sottile and Punta Grossa.

Seeing is believing.
