Dietro Piazza Unità a Trieste c’è un microcosmo tutto da perlustrare, Cittavecchia: antico cuore commerciale della città, dedalo di stradine tra le quali perdersi, guardando le vetrine dei negozi di antiquariato, dei librai e annusando l’aria ricca di profumi, di storia, di sapori, di suggestioni. Il rione oggi è una zona multicolore ed è proprio qui che Filippo e Federica con entusiasmo e professionalità hanno aperto il loro bistrot, la Bottega dell’Antiquario. Il nome è un tributo agli spazi occupati un tempo da un negozio di antiquariato; gli arredi, sia interni che esterni, creano un’atmosfera un po’ retrò, molto conviviale, carica di fascino parigino.

La cucina è quella della migliore tradizione italiana sia di mare che di terra, interpretata e rivista con gusto e fantasia per ottenere accostamenti ricercati da Antonio Razze e il suo secondo Simone Solaro. Il motto dello staff è “prima di fare innovazione bisogna saper fare la tradizione”; ogni piatto quindi è realizzato con estrema cura alle materie prime, la maggior parte delle quali –pane, focacce, paste e dolci– sono prodotte dall’interno laboratorio artigianale; tutte scelte, lavorate, cotte nel pieno rispetto dei tempi per accontentare l’occhio e il palato, anche i più esigente. Il menù proposto varia di continuo per abbinare i prodotti di stagione ai diversi piatti. La cantina è ben fornita, vanta soprattutto etichette di vini locali che vengono consigliati con sapienza e discrezione dallo staff che segue con particolare attenzione il desiderio dei clienti. Ottimi anche i dolci, soprattutto il tiramisù con i biscotti di produzione propria. L’ambiente è informale ed adatto ad ogni esigenza: dal pranzo veloce alla cena da godersi all’aperto nelle calde sere d’estate. L’aperitivo è un momento particolare alla Bottega dell’Antiquario. Cocktail speciali e stuzzichini sono serviti sia en plein air che all’interno, su banconi e sulla terrazza in un locale divertente e carico di fascino e qui il coperto non c’è! Behind Piazza Unità in Trieste there is a microcosm to explore, Cittavecchia: the old commercial heart of the city, a maze of narrow streets in which you can get lost, gazing at the windows of the antique shops and booksellers and sniffing the air full of scents, history, flavours and inspiration. Today the district is a multi-coloured area and it is here that Filippo and Federica have enthusiastically and professionally opened their bistro, the Bottega dell’Antiquario. The name pays tribute to the spaces once occupied by an antique shop; the furnishings, both inside and outside, create a slightly retro, very convivial atmosphere, full of Parisian charm. The cuisine is that of the best Italian tradition of both sea and land, interpreted and revised by Antonio Razze and his assistant Simone Solaro with taste and imagination to create refined combinations. The staff’s motto is “before making innovation, you need to know how to make tradition”; each dish is therefore made with extreme care for the raw materials, most of which –bread, focaccia, pasta and desserts– are produced by the in-house artisan workshop; all are chosen, processed and cooked in full respect of the times to please the eye and the palate, even the most demanding. The proposed menu varies continuously to match seasonal products to the various dishes. The wine cellar is well stocked, boasting above all labels of local wines that are recommended with knowledge and discretion by the staff, who follow the customers’ wishes with particular attention. The desserts are also excellent, especially the tiramisu with homemade biscuits. The ambience is informal and suitable for every need: from a quick lunch to dinner to be enjoyed outdoors on warm summer evenings. The aperitif is a special moment at the Bottega dell’Antiquario.
