4th February 2005 Mr. David Thompson 65 Cloudesdale Road London SW17 8ET
Dear David District 71 Conference November 10th -12th 2006. On behalf of Nenagh Toastmasters Club, I am pleased to enclose our bid for the Autumn Conference 2006. We plan to ensure that there are 4 education slots, which gives toastmasters a chance to attend 2 of them. For non-toastmasters and for those who do not wish to avail of this, we will arrange a tour of the locality including a visit to two of our local craft industries – Puckane Crafts and Hanly’s Woollen Mills. To make it easier for UK Toastmasters, we have included in our overheads a shuttle service (to meet flights) depending on demand, to ferry toastmasters from Shannon Airport to the hotel. Shannon Airport is now a gateway for many UK Airports to Ireland. We will run this on the Friday and Saturday from Shannon and on Sunday from Nenagh to Shannon. Also to make it easier for UK Toastmasters (and indeed Irish Toastmasters) we will be able to offer a Visa/MasterCard Payment service for bookings. This will help with currency conversions, as payment in euro’s is converted at a fairly reasonable rate to sterling (for debiting UK sterling accounts) by the Visa/MasterCard authorities. In our Conference Sub Committee, we have a range of experienced toastmasters, some of whom have achieved ATM (B). We will enlarge this committee as necessary in the lead up to the event. In our various packages we have taken into account the deal we have struck with the management of the Abbey Court Hotel on pricing for the whole weekend. We will have exclusive use of the whole hotel and the cost to us is therefore the same whether rooms are booked for the one or two nights. However we have broken this down into various packages which will hopefully suit all the various requirements of District 71 Toastmasters. All events will be by ticket or other recognition system. Nenagh Abbey Court Hotel is a fairly new hotel. It was enlarged last year to 83 bedrooms, and the new Leisure Complex was also recently opened. Further extensive work has been carried out on enlarging car-parking space. By the time of the conference it also envisaged
