You hear it said a lot that nothing ever happens in Grimsby. Or Cleethorpes. Or Immingham. It’s one of those things that people like to moan about. But in fact, if you look a little closer, you’ll find that there’s stuff happening almost every day, from major stars of at the Auditorium to grass roots theatre and circus workshops at Fusion Creative, (whose Narnia poster we’ve borrowed for our front cover image). And of course this year will see Cleethorpes host the National Armed Forces day, probably the biggest event the town has ever seen! In this issue we’ve added sections with information from local clubs and we’d like to include more so if you’re involved with an organisation that might benefit from a free listing just get in touch (details below) and we’ll do our best.

get your vehicle serviced regularly and avoid trouble and expense Are you one of those people who live in fear of the MOT? Does the bill seem to get bigger every year? One way of avoiding this annual expense might be to spend just a little money every few months getting your vehicle properly serviced by a reliable mechanic such as our friends at Kingsway Tyres or Will Toyne of Lincs VWA.
• •
Checking for the condition and tension of driving belts Checking battery fluid level (in the case of non-sealed batteries)
And just what should a top quality service include? Well here’s a few basics -
On top of these there are checks of safety items such as lamps, tyres and windscreen wipers and of the suspension components, including wheels. Engine driving belts will need changing periodically, although not at every service
• • • • •
So there you go - it’s a long list and by having all these things looked at by someone who knows what they’re doing you get better fuel economy, increased safety and smaller bills at MOT time.
Engine oil and oil filter replacement Air conditioning pollen filter replacement Brake fluid check Visual inspection of the braking system Visual inspection of the suspension components, including wheels
It’s got to make sense - hasn’t it?

Once upon a time, not so long ago, mobility products were just meant to do a job. It didn’t occur to anyone that they could also be stylish or colourful or a pleasure to own. But nowadays things have changed and if you know where to look you can find scooters with style and canes with charisma. And the place to start looking is Cleethorpes Mobility Centre where they believe that just because something is functional doesn’t mean it has to be dull.
Mobile In Style
with Cleethorpes Mobility Centre
Take the new Rollzmotion rollator/wheelchair pictured above. It comes in bright yellow or deep purple and switches between functions in seconds. Ideal for those who like a stroll but may need to rest sometimes. Also new on the scene is the fantastic Solax Easylife auto folding scooter. With a top speed of 4mph and a range of 10 miles on a single charge, it can fold itself as small as a suitcase for storage and carriage, all at the touch of a button on the remote control. And it’s not just new technology that can benefit from a makeover! Take a look at these canes from Classic Canes. Easy to use and fold away and also brightly coloured and patterned to suit your outfit (or your mood). Whatever you need by way of mobility or accessibility aids you’ll always find an excellent selection and good advice at the Cleethorpes Mobility Centre. They stock beds by Patterson Medical, furniture by Cosi Chair, slippers by Cosyfeet and many other products by top manufacturers. All under one roof and they always offer service with a smile!
