You don’t have to leave the resort to discover historic sites! Located at the end of our peninsula, you’ll find a short trail that leads you to Fort Amsterdam. This fort has been restored over the years and features a small building, stone walls lined with cannons, and footpaths to benches boasting 360° views of the bay. The area is also a protected sanctuary for St. Maarten’s national bird, the brown pelican.
She’s a star and she knows it! Make sure you have your camera ready—our resident red and green macaw parrot, Gizmo, loves to dance, strike a pose, and cozy up with her favorite guests and staff members.
