A MESSAGE FROM THE

HEY FRIENDS! How are you guys doing? Personally, I am super ready to not be in quarantine anymore and hopefully go back to school in August. But it’s still unsafe to break quarantine (I see some of y’all outside with your friends), so please stay safe! In the meantime, take up a new hobby or interest (I’ve started to read and sew) or even do some at-home service events! And on that note, let me shout out all those amazing clubs in our division that are doing work and putting out service events and fundraisers! You guys are super awesome! Circumstances are not ideal, but we’re seriously killing it. I bee-yond amazed by all of our accomplishments, so keep it up manta rays! Finally, thank you so much for reading this month’s newsletter! I am so appreciative, and I hope you guys enjoy my baby (this newsletter).

What was YOUR Key Club moment? I realized I loved Key Club was during Fall Rally. I got to see just how many people Key Club influences, and that we are all here supporting PTP and our community. I loved all the hype and spirit around Fall Rally and Key Club and made so many new friendships along the way during just one event!

How has Key Club impacted you? Key Club has allowed me to be more involved in something I love, which is helping out and giving back to my community. I also gained so many friendships along the way that I wouldn’t trade the world for.

ENVELOPES OF

Historian|Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt Manta Rays continue to spread the love by decorating envelopes that contain masks inside to be passed out to residents of Eastvale. Each envelope is decorated by members with positive messages and cute doodles and drawings which helps put a smile on residents' faces during this unprecedented time. This helps the community protect themselves and each other from the spread of COVID-19 that has impacted all of us.

ELIMINATE PROJECT

Rachel Chung Historian|Santiago

Even though the Eliminate Project week has ended, Santiago Key Club didn’t stop spreading the awareness! We launched a fundraiser where all the donations will go towards the Eliminate project! We have set the goal to $200 and thankfully achieved our goal.

Nathan Nguyen Historian|Centennial

On April 30, Centennial Key Club opened a community service opportunity with Centennial’s Hospice. The opportunity was ended on May 8. Key Club members could write thank you cards and letters to essential workers for service hours. In total, our members wrote 600 cards to essential workers and our club gained a total of 120 hours!

storytime Calista Miramontes Historian|Notre Dame

Notre Dame Key Club has started a service project called Quarantine Storytime. This service project is a great way for students to give back to other schools during quarantine! Quarantine Storytime is service project where students record themselves, on or off camera, reading any children’s book of their choice. We are offering 3 hours of service (maximum of 6 hours). We will then make a compilation of all videos sent to us and send them to the principles of our sister schools (currently participating is St. Thomas, St. Edwards, OLPH, and St. Hyacinth). The compilation will then be shared with the younger students!
