Message from our Lieutenant Governor "Hello, Majestic Manta Rays of Division 15 East! As we now enter into the 2017-2018 school year, I hope that you make this a year of new oppurtunities, new relationships, and new chances to grow. Do not take a single moment for granted as you never know what will happen tomorrow. To the Seniors, we finally made it! Four years of hard work is finally coming to an end, try to make it last and don't forget about those College Apps!! To the Underclassmen, learn from those before you and see how they have prospered and how they have grown through service and through leadership, find aspects of themselves that you can use to grow yourself. Make sure to get close to the Seniors this year, our final year in Key Club will be bittersweet, but I know we will make it the best year yet. Please do not overwork yourselves, it is okay to take a break, or to miss a few questions on that test. You are all amazing individuals and I know that no matter what occurs, only the best will happen to you. Remember that I am always only a message away, so don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything. - Lieutenant Governor Tyler Ma" PAGE 3
Message from our Division Newsletter Editor Hello Manta Rays, Sadly summer vacation has ended, but with endings come new beginnings. As this year is my final year in high school and key club I plan to cherish the last memories, service, and great friendships I will make in Key Club before I lose the opportunity. An important note to mention is that Key Club should not be your first priority. Since the new school year has begun please keep in mind that your first priorities before Key Club are your education and your mental health, so if you ever feel too stressed and having too much trouble balancing your life feel free to take a break to recollect yourself and do not worry we'll gladly welcome your return. Now as a Senior, there are definitely some parts of my high school experience that I regret whether it be sub par grades or not being as active of key club member my freshman year as I could. Just remember that it is never too late to change your life for the better. With whatever you chose to do in the future, put all you've got into high school and be happy. - Division Newsletter Editor Nick Eun

Club Recaps Club Planning ( Provided by : Christine Le, Centennial High School, Division 15 East ) With the school year being right around the corner, our club met up to plan the upcoming term. We discussed club rush and how to approach our first meeting. LTG, Tyler Ma, attended this meeting to aid our teams transitioning into the new school year.
July Olympics
( Provided by : Nick Eun, La Sierra, Division 15 East ) This month La Sierra Key Club attended the July Olympics event at McCune family park. The day was filled with a lot of bonding with our fellow division 15 East members as we compete against each other in many different activities from water balloon tosses to wheelbarrow races. With all the exhausting activities the event was ended off with some well deserved ice cream pops that everyone enjoyed. PAGE 5
Plushies For PTP (Provided by : Noelani Maylad, John F. Kennedy, Division 15 East We decided that a fun and cute way to fundraise would be to create manta ray keychain plushies. During summer break, our officers gathered together at our Vice President John’s house and began tracing and sewing each manta ray. Several hours later, we had hand-sewn a great deal of plushies. Before we sell our little manta rays, our club will be getting together to create more plushies and add further details to our completed plushies.

Utilizing Club Rush  With the new school year, along comes club rush right around the corner. Here is some helpful information that may help your club.
Why is Club Rush so important ? Club Rush is an excellent way to recruit new members in your school
How to attract people During Club rush students will be bombarded with dozens of clubs to join. You will need to grab their attention and prove that Key Club is not like any ordinary club. Ways you can do this are to be dressed up in your fall rally gear and spirit stick. Flyers should also be handed out explaining what our club is, reasons to join, and the date of your clubs first meeting.
