A Letter from your Lieutenant Governor Greetings you lovely Key Clubbers! I hope that the month of May was as great for you as it was for me! If you ask me, the Picnic PCM was a great successs, AP tests weren’t as bad as I expected, STC was fantastic, and all of your inductions/ banquets were amazing! As of May 26th, I have completed 5/8 club visits! I have enjoyed getting to know your officers and members, and I hope to keep in touch with all of you throughout the summer, as well as the school year. I know that each of your clubs has great things coming! My advice, to those of you really hoping to better your club, is to stay active over the summer! Don’t let your club die down. Get ahold of potential freshman members and have socials, service projects, and fundraisers that introduce them to the awesome-ness that is Key Club. Above all, throughout this year, remember the purpose of Key Club: service. Best wishes,
Vanessa Castañeda

Super Summer Ideas Service
Key Club is, above all, a service organization. Keep your club active over the summer! • Find a local food pantry to volunteer at- they always need help stocking shelves and organizing food (if you can’t find a local one, Tarrant County Food Bank always needs volunteers)! • See if a local church needs help with their VBS! • Go on a Rustic Pathways trip abroad for service!
Socials Key Club is also a place for fun with friends. Have events just for fellowship! • Meet up at a frozen yogurt shop- Everyone loves something cool in the summer! • Have a massive water balloon fight with your club! • Get your club together and go ice skating!
$$$$$ Key Club also requires lots of money (Fall Rally, DCON, etc.) & summer is a great time to fundraise! • Host a color run! • Have a lemonade stand! Ask a local grocery store if you can set up in front of their store • Host a car wash! If you do it by donation people are more likely to donate more! 7

Goals expressed in the last newsletter
Update on previous goals + New goals for June
• Increase Communication by way of emails, phone calls, and snail mail- to reduce confusion • INCREASE DIVISIONAL SPIRIT!!!! • Visit each club AT LEAST twice • Have 100% reporting from all 8 clubs throughout the year • Help charter at least 1 new club in the K-Family within the division • Have ALL 8 clubs submit early bird dues • Have 1 super rockin’ Division wide function! • Attend as many Kiwanis DCMs as possible -(hopefully all of them if circumstances permit) • Have club officers- primarily Presidents and Vice Presidents attend as many Kiwanis DCMs as possible • Have a majority of the Division at STC • Win the spirit stick at STC • Get Divisional t-shirts ordered • Schedule a club visit with each club for sometime between now and the end of summer • Plan a PCM for the summer

An Evening with Everman Officer and member pinning ceremony 400 hours of service in just a few months...WOW! For a club that only began meeting in December and was just chartered in March that’s amazing! You all have an great set of officers and a strong base of members. It was amazing to see so many of your members, officers, as well as parents attend your pinning ceremony. Keep it up during the summer! Don’t let your Key Club spirit die down! I can’t wait to hear your name called at District Convention next year! Keep each other accountable and remind one another of your goal #top25in2016

On the Patio with Paschal Shaw’s Patio for the Paschal induction Paschal’s induction was the only one of the 5 I attended where I was able to both retire the old officers and install the new ones. I had an amazing burger and an amazing time hanging out with y’all! You all had an amazing year! I can’t wait to see what your club does in 2016!

Burleson Banquet Celebrating the year’s success and looking forward As most of you know, Burleson is my home club, consequently it was incredibly amazing to be able to induct the officers of my home club and celebrate a wonderful year of service with them. It was amazing being on their board of officers, but I am excited to now be on the Texas-Oklahoma Key Club board and the committee chair of the Events Public relations committee. It was an honor to serve as Historian and Social Chair with you all. I have high hopes for the club this year! Remember, even though I’m no longer on the board of officers, I’m still always here for you guys!
