On July 30th, 2022, Francis Lewis Key Club, along with other Division 8 Key Clubs, helped run the annual NYC Color Run. This event is VERY brightening and COLORFUL! As volunteers, there were many activities or positions available: encourage racers, hand out water, throw colors, and help sweep colors and trash from the race. For me and other Key Clubbers, we handed out water as a crowd of runners came through. We encouraged them with many positive sayings. Moving on, we also threw colored powder when runners reached one of the kilometer marks. I have to say that many of us had a 360 TRANSFORMATION when doing that. Their transformations are really colorful colors including: pink, green, yellow and blue. I say they are colorful, vibrant, radiant aliens. After the race ended, we went to the festival they hosted, which included music, dancing, and activity booths. Oh and did I forget to mention SNACKS! From a mountain of Takis to a bucket of Hi Chew, I got a lot of it! Honestly, I recommend everyone to just come here and experience it yourself next year. This is such a wonderful, yet COLORFUL, Key Club event on a hot summe d !

DIVISION UPDATES! 14

This summer, volunteers in the Brockport area have been up to some great and exciting work! Whether it be in local gardens, around parks or in the local libraries for kids’ programs, our hard-working students never fail to give a helping hand to those in need. At our local library, the wonderful staff have taken more students, new and old, under their wings to set them down the path of community service, and the teens have risen to the opportunity. Reading to kids, helping with events and craft stations, or even just assisting in little tasks around the library have been fan favorites among our Written by Sophia Visconte (Brockport High School) 2022 volunteers. We are ecstatic at the continued participation from Key Club members, and excitedly await to continue working with the library during the upcoming school year as well!
