OUTSIDE D23 SERVICE SPOTLIGHT
December 4th, 2022
On Sunday, December 4th, Clayton A. Bouton/Voorheesville Key Club sold Bells of Life at Crossgates Mall to support the Albany Medical Center Pediatric Trauma Program! The Bells of Life, organized by the Kiwanis Council of the Capital Region, is an annual campaign in which Kiwanians and Key Clubbers can sell paper bells for $1 at Crossgates Mall every weekend from Black Friday until Christmas Eve. With the help of the New Scotland Kiwanis, our club raised $200! We will also be continuing to support the cause by selling bells at school during the month of January and encourage other clubs to do so! We have been involved with the Bells of Life for many years and it is so rewarding to see the generosity of strangers and to hear the gratitude of others toward Albany Med’ s Children’ s Hospital! There are still opportunities to sell at Crossgates and if interested, bells can even be delivered to your school! Help Kiwanis ring the Bell of Life!

D23 SERVICE SPOTLIGHT
November 2022
In the month of November, the Canandaigua Key Club participated in two different service projects: the Election Night Spaghetti Dinner and coat checking for the Athena Awards. Each year on Election Day, a spaghetti dinner is held in the cafeteria of Canandaigua Academy. Key Club members arrive prior to the event to set up and begin processing meals. From mixing salads to taking orders, Key Club members were kept busy for the majority of the night. Other members served sit-down meals to those eating inside and ran take-out orders to cars outside. Later in November, Key Club members volunteered as coat checkers for a local award ceremony that recognizes the work of prominent in the community. With over 300 attendees present at the Athena Awards, Key Club members worked efficiently to greet guests, hang up coats, and distribute coat numbers throughout the night. Due to the efforts of many Canandaigua Key Club members, both nights were a success!
