2018 RTC On October 13th, Region 12 held their 2018 Regional Training Conference at Cy Falls High School. Over 200 officers and members from seven different divisions showed up with some dressed in their favorite Dr. Seuss gear in celebration of the Dr. Seuss theme. There were fun icebreakers and games, donuts and pizza, and DCM’s and helpful forums, from officer trainings to making dirt cups in honor of environmental awareness. We also had special guest speakers from our K-family, Circle K of University of Houston, and Comfort Dogs. Overall, I had an amazing time meeting so many of you and seeing our mighty Region 12 come together in full spirit, and I hope you had a blast, too. Thanks for coming! (Also, huge shoutout to St. Agnes!)

March of Dimes: Prematurity Awareness month November 1-30, 2018 “March of Dimes is a champion for families, fighting for the health of moms and babies in communities like yours and across the country. Unfortunately, the preterm birth rate is continuing to rise, so while we believe that every baby deserves the best possible start, not all babies get one. Together as a community, we can create #blanketchange and implement solutions that support healthy moms and strong babies. Share these messages throughout November, Prematurity Awareness Month, to help families in your community and across the nation. World Prematurity Day is November 17. Find out more here

March of Dimes is one of Key Club’s preferred charities. Every year, 380,000 babies are born prematurely and this can lead to long-term health complications such as cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, chronic lung diseases, blindness and hearing loss. Spread awareness throughout this month of November by hosting an information session during club meetings or by sharing content through social media with the hashtag #prematurityawarenessmonth
