Just this past March, after three months of closure and $2.5 million, the ever-innovative lifestyle brand W Hotels revealed the newly re-wondered main floor of the W Seattle which is now home to the fresh and contemporary dining experience that is TRACE restaurant and bar. - JACKLYN TRAN At TRACE, chef de cuisine Steven Ariel combines a broad perspective of global fares with Pacific Northwest flair, picking up on our area’s increasing dedication to using traceable ingredients. Armed with an immense passion and a vast knowledge of food and wine, Chef Ariel, previously of Chef Thierry Rautureau’s Madison Valley French bistro LUC, has a great appreciation for local, seasonal and organic products. This is reflected well in the many menus (breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, happy hour) and can be experienced from morning till night. The experience of TRACE begins at first glance.
Entering the W Seattle lobby, a visually stimulating, sonic lodge-inspired space tempts you to walk around and take in each detail it offers. From the “library” area that provides a community table and walls of supersized graphics of old funk, soul and early rap vinyl record sleeves to the craft looms that strategically add splashes of gray and pink to the bronze, chrome and glossy black finishes found elsewhere. Stainless steel coffee tables are a nod to aviation while a warm fireplace is surrounded by amphitheater-style seating. Above is a built-in lookout to accommodate the DJs spinning Wednesday to Saturday evenings. From the

lobby and into the bar and restaurant area, the trend continues with gold metallic leather chairs and a massive lenticular mural which displays a jet from one viewpoint and from the vantage point of the 10-seat sushi bar, jellyfish. Sleek and modern, cushy and contemporary, TRACE is the place to see and be seen. The experience always has something new in store, whether in the menu, the sounds, the company beside you or the personalities surrounding you. An outing, a meal, a drink or simply a drop in at TRACE is something to look forward to.

Eat the Rich!
Foie gras – the ultimate meat. Quite possibly both the richest and most expensive meat all at once, it is essentially a pâté made inside of a goose. Constant feeding of the animal helps the liver develop an extremely high fat content that makes for incredible flavor. Foie gras is an ancient delicacy, with the first evidence of it found 45 centuries ago in Egypt. Today, it is found in numerous restaurants around Seattle. Nishino is a sushi restaurant, of course. Nonetheless, their foie gras dish is one of the most legendary and unique in the city. An unexpected pairing with seared tuna is an entirely different textural and flavor experience. With shiitake mushrooms and a red wine soy reduction, it’s a decadent but well-balanced joy.
At Matt’s, the foie gras preparation is frequently playful and dessert-like. It may come with bread pudding, a cream puff, or most recently, a waffle cone. Yet the dish avoids being overly sweet with the addition of nuts and tart fruit and the execution never fails to be excellent.

Foie gras has always played a central role on the menu at Quinn’s. You can get a piece seared to top your fries for example. But it’s the foie gras that’s not on the menu that is truly epic. It comes on a burger that you have to know to ask for – along with bacon, cheese and anything else the chef wishes to add. Oxtail, red onion marmalade, mushrooms and a duck egg are likely on this exceptional “ultra burger”.
This Woods For You. Tradition calls for certain gifts to be given on each anniversary and the fifth is wood. It is meant to represent the strength and steadfastness of the relationship. Of course, I believe every celebration deserves a toast, so in honor of DList’s fifth anniversary, we’re talking barrel-aged cocktails. Aging a cocktail in wood might require a little loving patience before you can enjoy the fruits of your labor, but like a good relationship, it will definitely get better with time. There’s lots of room to really make a project like this your own; you can leave the cocktail in the barrel for three weeks or a couple months… it’s ready when you say it’s ready! Taste often, of course. And if you happen to have the five-year mark approaching on the horizon, a barrel-aging kit makes the perfect wood-themed gift for the cocktail aficionado in your life. OK, wondering where the heck you find a barrel in the first place? Well, Washington’s own Woodinville Whiskey Co. (woodinvillewhiskeyco. com) makes it easy. They’ve put together an Age

Sinfully Delicious With the mother of all Mexican holidays right around the corner, we thought it would be a good idea to talk about our good friend tequila. Since tequila has boomed over the past decade and many bar hoppers are trading in their vodka martinis for shots of high end tequila, we feel it is time to shed some light on another great tequila brand that will turn the most wear y drinker into an agave lover!
The Land
The Plant
The Process
Backed by prime extensive land for its cultivation in the most optimum conditions, Aha Toro is located at approximately 6,300 ft above see level and next to Arandas. This zone has the ideal temperature for the cultivation of the agave plant: cold and semi-dry with six-to ten overcast weeks each year. All these factors help develop the raw material, keeping it fresh and favoring the sugars that come from this privileged land.
The Blue “Agave Tequila Weber” with which Aha Toro is produced, is only cultivated on a 100km radius of land surrounding a village called “Jesus Maria”, where the distillery is located. It takes 10 years of growth before the plant can be cut, during which all the sunshine, nutrients, temperature and atmospheric conditions give the agave plant its characteristic blue color, scent, and flavor.
Aha Toro is an estate tequila, where they still do everything the old fashioned way, from masonry brick ovens to natural fermentation to copper stills. AHA TORO is double distilled and expertly aged to perfection. It is a painstaking process that creates an exceptional and superior tequila.
Aha Toro is offered in the following expressions: BLANCO: White/Silver/No Age
REPOSADO: Gold/Some Aging
ANEJO: Amber/Significant Aging
Blanco tequila is in its most pure state, true to its 100% Blue Agave essence. It is a powerful un-aged Tequila that shows how traditionally made Tequila from the mountains of Jalisco should taste.
Aged 6 to 9 months used American whiskey barrels, giving it a rich gold color and just the right amount of “finesse”. Subtle agave flavors, with an aroma that inspires the tequilas young spirit. Enjoyed straight up in a snifter, or chilled first, then sipped.
Exquisitely aged in new French oak barrels for 18 to 20 months. Exceptional bouquet and body with complex agave characteristics and best savored straight up in a snifter.

What began as a small pool hall years ago has been transformed into one of Seattle’s top spots for a night out. A total of two full bars, three dance floors and pool tables for days. Two separate banquet rooms hide in the woodwork, great for work conferences or wedding parties. I sat down with bar supervisor Jeff Grant and was served a signature cocktail, The Parlor Apple. Pendleton Whisky, Sour Apple Pucker, Berentzen apple liqueur and a splash of cranberry juice, served up in a martini glass with a cinnamon-sugared rim. NICK CANNON by Sheena Nguyen photo courtesy Industry PR
WHAT CAN'T HE DO? THE MULTI TALENTED COMEDIAN STILL FINDS TIME TO BRING HIS COMEDY TO A CLUB NEAR YOU.
From playing a fish out of water in the movie "Drumline" to making our generation laugh as both an on-screen performer and writer on "All That" more than a decade ago, Nick Cannon has grown up with us and is now very much embracing his new role, that of a husband and a father, all on top of still trying to make us laugh as a comic and entertainer. Cannon has come a long way from being the awkward, scrawny kid he played on screen more than two decades ago. He has been working hard to get to where he is today, being the host of "America's Got Talent," having his own radio show (which he had to step down from due to a health condition that has forced him to focus more on his health), and being a star on NBC's "Up All Night," which he just recently won this year's NAACP Image Award for outstanding Supporting Actor for his role on the show. “I love being busy", Cannon stated. "I would say that vocation to me means more than vacation." It is because of this mentality that Nick has not stopped working, even though he has accomplished so much at just 31 years of age. “Right now I'm getting ready to do my next stand-up special so I'm trying to prepare for that, he said. I've got a single with Pitbull that is about to drop and I'm going to direct my first feature film in May.” According to Cannon, he is very excited about his role as a director for the film "School of Dance." Everyone from the New Boyz to Kevin Hart will be starring in it. "It will be a cool, urban comedy," he commented. His new single, "America," will be coming out even sooner; this month to be exact. "I'm always working on music around the same time as my other projects because its something that's important to me," Cannon said. Another very important aspect in his life is his family. "Out of everything I've done, my family is still my proudest accomplishment," he admitted. "I love my wife and kids more than anything." Cannon's son and daughter, twins about to turn one, have been the highlight and inspiration in his life. "My focus is on my family and my kids more than anything," he stated. Despite all else that he has going on, including his recent diagno-
25
sis of lupus nephritis, a condition that if left untreated could lead to kidney failure, Cannon seems to have a steady handle on the situation. "I'm coping with it pretty well," he explained. "I mean, its just having to take care of yourself and getting the proper things in your body and get the proper amount of rest and then everything will be good." His wife, Mariah Carey, is someone he admittedly counts on to help with all of this. "I call her Dr. Carey," he joked. So with doctor's orders of having to get six to eight hours of rest a night, Cannon has been able to spend more time with his family. "I love playing with my kids", he explained. "Right now its all about reading, musical instruments and letting them discover things. Home life is just awesome.” Although he spends more time at home now, it isn't exactly hindering his career. In fact, its probably enhancing it. According to Cannon, all of his inspiration for his writing and stand-up come from his own life. "Its all about my family life growing up and family life now," he said. An example of this is personified in his grandpa, who Cannon admits to be his biggest role model. "He's just great," he said of his grandpa. "He's like 76-years-old and he's still young and still has a great personality and he's taught me everything since I was a kid about life and being a man. He's a funny dude though.” So from his 76-year-old grandpa to his two 11-month old kids, Cannon has a wide range of material to draw from to inspire him. Another source of inspiration comes from his hosting gig since 2009, "America's Got Talent." "The people we discovered on our show have had these incredible stories. War veterans, people who have been homeless, they all show such incredible talents and incredible stories mashed together. Its absolutely inspiring [and] seeing all of that I get excited too," he said. Cannon has a lot to be excited for as he is about to take the stage again, preparing for his second stand-up special on Showtime. His career is coming full circle since he set foot on the stage for the first time at the age of 11 and its now more than 20 years later. "I started out doing standup and that's something that I've always loved doing." So despite all that he has gone through, Cannon is still able to find the light of a situation and do what he does best – make us laugh.

The manager of the Parlor walks up to me and apologizes for being late, only to be interrupted by Shore saying, “Oh don’t worry about these guys, they grew up on me. If you are still in college, you may not be too familiar with Pauly Shore’s major movies in the ‘90s such as “Encino Man,” “Son in Law,” “In the Army Now,” “Jury Duty” and “Bio Dome,” or his hosting on MTV’s “Spring Break.” After wrapping up his Las Vegas special, “Vegas is my Oyster,” Shore jumped back on screen with CMT’s “Whiskey Business” which aired late March and is currently working on a new special “Pauly-tics,” which will be shot in Washington D.C. So where has Pauly Shore been? Everywhere. And back. “I know people like my stuff. I think enough time has passed to where people know that I’m real. Everyone’s a hater when your shit comes out and it’s popular. Man, look at Justin Bieber, look at how much
shit he gets. ‘He’s a girl. Look at his hair’ and all that. If he keeps going and is still selling out in five years, people will know that he is real. I like to use the term “based on results”. I’ve toured all over the world and I sell out almost every time. From Asia to even Africa. Obviously I did something right. If I was touring and nobody showed up I would think, well damn maybe my movies did suck, ya know? If you really put down the goods, people will realize.” “My biggest regret was acting the way I did when I first made it on MTV. I was just being crazy and having fun. I didn’t even know why I said the things I did or started breaking up my words and creating my Weasel character, but people thought it was funny so I kept doing it,” he laughed. “Well, another regret was banging all those porn stars.” “I love politics. When I have time off, all I do is watch the debates and CNN. They are so interesting. They inspire me. I’m glad I’m not as big as George Clooney and those other guys because I could totally run for mayor in a small town. Those other guys are way too busy, but don’t worry, I’ll handle it guys.”

DAVIDKOECHNER Photo by Chris Ewers
EVERYONE'S FAVORITE "CHAMP" TAKES HIS COMIC GOLD TO THE BIG STAGE.
David Koechner could be labeled as one of the top improv actors of this era. He is widely known for his role as Champ Kind in the classic “Anchorman,” as well as the highly confident general manager of Shenanigans Restaurant in “Waiting…” and now his reoccurring role on the “Office” as the sexist and obscene Todd Packer. When asked if he has always been a performer, he gave us some insight on how he got started. “I was in third grade in Mrs. Power’s class. We had time to kill before the bell. I was one of six kids, so I grabbed the easiest-laughing kid in class and brought him to the front of the room. I stuffed my hat in his jacket and then proceeded to act like I couldn’t find my hat. Everyone was laughing and then the bell rang… so yeah, that was my first live act. It got a little better down the road,” Koechner said jokingly. After realizing his major in political science might be the wrong field for him, he decided to move to Chicago and pursue his love for improvisation. “Most of the people in the film industry don’t have polysci majors so I joined The Second City comedy troupe in Chicago. I love doing character pieces,” he explained. Obviously making the right decision, Koechner landed numerous movie roles and put his improvisation skills to the test in the 2004 hit “Anchorman.”
“Anchorman was a lot of fun. I was surrounded by an amazing cast and the script was already really funny. They made us do three takes as written, then the fourth one they let us go to town, within reason…Well, not really,” Koechner said, laughing. “‘The Office’ is a different story. It's really a compliment to the acting and writing that people think it’s mostly improv. My favorite character that I’ve played lately is the really annoying neighbor in the movie “Extract” with Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Ben Aff leck and Mila Kunis. This neighbor is a true nightmare.” Koechner only started doing stand-up comedy two years ago. When asked what it takes to be a stand-up comedian, he said, “Have you ever read the book “Outliers: The Story of Success?” The 10,000 Hours Rule. It takes 10,000 hours of practicing something to get good at it. Don’t get discouraged if you have a bad show, you can always put in more work. Also let me add that it’s never the audience’s fault. If they don’t laugh, it’s not because they didn’t get it. They got it, it just didn’t work. Be confident though, every time you go on stage the audience wants to see you succeed. It’s almost as bad for them when you don’t succeed,” said Koechner. But when is it time to finally throw in the towel? “When no one is encouraging you, it might be time to stop or at least take a long look at your career choice.”

Sonny Bonoho SEATTLE'S FUNNY-MAN OF HIP HOP TALKS FLOPS, FAME and the SEARCH FOR vag. - JOE GUSTAV Sonny Bonoho says things differently, usually for a laugh (case in point: his rap name, pronounced “bone-a-hoe”). The Kirkland-based hip-hopper attributes his exclusive lexicon to elementary school ESL classes. “The teacher was an Asian dude. He could barely speak English either,” Bonoho, a Laotian native speaker, recalls. “Thanks to him for teaching me barely no English.” But that doesn’t quite explain the origins of a phraseology and perspective that turn realities, sometimes tough, into positives, divulged in manners positively outlandish. His upcoming May EP, The Vag, is inspired by the most un-rapperly of occurrences -- an epic dry spell -- and if singles “Coogars” and “Grand Daaam” are any indication, Bonoho will be gleefully exploiting his frustration for the listener’s entertainment and uplift. “I’m just going all in on this project, The Vag,” he deadpans. “I'm looking at [my frustration] in a humorous way. People are going to understand but they'll be like, damn, this is different.” Different is one way to describe the video for “Grand Daaam,” shot live-action with cartoon animations adding far-out flourishes to video chicks romping around -- and on top of -- Bonoho. The video also features shower cap wisecracker Bizarre, formerly of Eminem’s group D12. Bonoho recently became part of Bizarre’s Weirdo Movement, and aside from collaborations on Bizarre’s just-released This Guy’s a Weirdo, will be performing at a Detroit release show and touring Europe with Celebrity Fit Club’s unlikely alum. The affiliation makes sense, but their respective senses of humor differ. Whereas Bizarre goes for sophomoric shock value, Bonoho is playful yet earnest and never loses credibility for portraying life as anything less than difficult.
“I've always believed that laughing and smiling is the healthiest thing in the world,” he says. “When I'm on a serious note, talking about stuff I go through, I try to encourage people, give them hope when they go through rough times.” Sonny’s been through his share of trials, dry spell notwithstanding. He grew up rough in Tacoma, but chooses not to rhyme as such (“That isn't really me”). Two years ago, right before the release of his Phone Phreak EP, he had a serious medical emergency. “Pretty much my stomach blew up. I had an obstruction to my small intestine,” he says. Surgery and recovery followed, meaning no promo, essential for an independent artist. The project flopped. But then he got a text message, proving the power of positivity and just being a good ass dude, which you get the sense Sonny is. It was Playboy Tre, an underground rap favorite and long-time friend who has written songs for other artists, including T.I. and B.o.B. He was opening for the latter on that musician’s first arena tour. He wanted Sonny to come along as his hype man. “Every day was a moment,” he says of the tour, which saw him performing in front of more than 20,000 on certain nights. Bonoho remembers one date in particular, at Vanderbilt University. “There were so many folks in there. I'd never performed with my neck up.” The description is an uncommon way to describe rapping to a massive multi-tiered audience. It takes a second to get it, but it makes perfect sense. It’s definitely a Bonoho-ism, and it certainly explains his sense of humor: comedy is the shock absorber lessening the bumps on the road of life, allowing the traveler to keep his gaze focused upward, taking it all in with a wide smile.

Get familiar with April's "Discovered" artist. - JOE GUSTAV Kelly Lynne Photography
Country and Americana are oft overlooked genres in the local scene, which is funny considering when country music superstars come to the Northwest, they draw numbers several times over that of a Freaknight or national Hip-Hop artist. Still, the music media powers that be glance past that down-home twang and looking at our pages, we’re guilty as charged. It’s a disservice to the music and to Northwest artists like Todd Joseph, this month’s DList Discovered artist. Joseph’s lovelorn tunes find their lineage somewhere amongst folk, blues, soul and bluegrass movements that look with a raised eyebrow upon annual naked bike rides and Nissan Leafs. It’s no wonder then that the cuts off his November EP “Closer” speak of locales distant, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta or to quote Joseph, “mainly anywhere but here.” Thankfully, Joseph and the Todd Joseph Band are right here, at least for now. Get acquainted below and catch them live for a different vibe, one free of DJ drops and laptops with the same power to move feet.

The Art Of Nightlife When culture combines with social circles the ultimate expressionism is revealed. welcome to lo-fi. - ELISA BEALl Anne Cho The night was clammy and the air wet. The thought of going out on a Tuesday night seemed odd enough. My friend’s enthusiasm while leading me down a dark alleyway didn’t help. Upon entry I was offered the $5 special: Tall can of PBR and shot of house whiskey. Only a fool would turn down a bargain of that caliber. So I handed off the shot, popped open the PBR and took a quick visual tour. House music throbbed the darkened walls, while neon lights beckoned dance seekers to the floor. The DJ booth sat adjacent to a movie projector flashing images of the cosmos. However, it was the brick hallway’s crimson light which revealed no evidence to what lied at its closure that attracted me the most. “Want to see what’s over there?” my friend questioned with mystery-filled eyes. Slightly opened double doors presented themselves at the hallway’s finish. Booming Hip-Hop complemented the striking visual within. Encased, a pulsating sphere of BBoys communed in the language of dance; conversing through spins, footwork and breaking rather than words. Spectators filled the large room and upper balcony, while local MCs took turn on the stage’s open mic. It’s been quite awhile since I was grandly introduced to Lo-Fi. Since then, about the only thing that’s changed is its city relevance and décor. Hosting nights like “SNAP! ‘90s Night Dance Party,” “Audio Suite Live Improv” and weekly Tuesday ritual “Stop Biting,” Lo-Fi Performance Gallery is a refreshing addition to any week night. Coupled impressively with resident house DJs like Zac Hendrix, Sean Cee, DJ WD4D and the freshly tagged walls of Aaron Martin’s internationally acclaimed “Angry Woebot” Pandas. Since the moment I stepped foot into the downtown venue, my attendance has become as ceremonial as church. To compare it to another would be an injustice. Words or pictures don’t seem to fully translate the social and artistic experience Lo-Fi provides, it is one you just have to see for yourself.

Lashing Out!
Don’t get angry, seeing eye-to-eye is easy at Noir Lash Lounge. - Loren boyd Ellen Ho of Hong Photography Lashing out can be a good thing when it has to do with big, beautiful eyes. You can get as sassy as you want at Noir Lash Lounge. Many salons these days specialize in eyelash extensions, but not until recently has there been a place solely devoted to perfecting the dainty little hairs of the eyelids. Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, Noir Lash Lounge is all about trading mascara and lash curlers for extensions or strip lashes that add fabulous lowmaintenance length and volume. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted kindly by Kelsey, my “Noircissist,” and my appointment began. After a brief chat about my desired look, I kicked back on a comfy couch
and my eyes were gently prepped for a full set of big, dramatic lash extensions. The entire 90 minutes was extremely relaxing and 100 percent painless. One extension was carefully glued to each natural eyelash until each lid was complete. Kelsey finished me off with a soothing forehead massage. When I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe my eyes (no pun intended). On top of a wonderful experience, my lashes looked incredible. I have received compliments left and right and it has only been a few days. A full set of extensions lasts two to four weeks for lash virgins and four to eight weeks for regular users, costing just $75 at Noir. Short

At Ian, contemporary American style is sourced from established and more obscure brands. This diversity of product ensures there is something for everyone. - Steven dolan by Danielle Bortone-Holt
Throughout the closing of other locations, Ian has remained solid on Second Avenue since 2004, providing contemporary American style to both men and women. The first floor is dedicated entirely to menswear, which is the obvious focus of the boutique by way of sheer numbers. Well-known brands like J Brand and Cheap Monday occupy space alongside less familiar, locally-based lines such as GNRL.QTRS and Heller’s Café. The inclusion of local brands is a relatively recent development, according to manager Butch Stevenson, who insists
Ian is particular when it comes to buying local. “I’m not a really big fan of local brands,” he said. “It’s usually some guy doing silk screen Tshirts with a basketball motif.” Stevenson asserted that quality and a complete vision are necessary to be carried at the boutique. Along with brand diversity comes a range of prices. Stevenson estimates that the boutique’s men’s shirts range from $75 to $175. In addition to fashion items, the men’s floor houses underwear, basics, swimwear and accessories.

The women’s section is generally trendier and less expensive. Stevenson estimates the most expensive piece is $150. Jewelry and basics provide for a more complete look. Despite the reputation of pretension and pushiness that boutiques are associated with, Stevenson believes his staff defies the stereotype through their love of fashion and pure kindness. “You’re not just going to get someone pushing stuff on you. We’re going to be explaining why it’s so cool,” he said. “We’re just really nice people that want you to look good.”

Dressing Room DList Magazine let local funny man Simon Kaufman loose in the “U” District’s Urbanity Clothing Store and he emerged wearing the perfect combination of casual & quirky. Name: Simon Kaufman Age: 34 Occupation: Comedian, Actor (“The Thigh Master”), Creator “The Simon Kaufman Show” Current City: Mercer Island So where can we find Simon Kaufman right now? Right now, we’re renting a compound on Mercer Island, we’re renting a house and it’s tucked down like a bunker. No one can find us and that’s what I wanted. We’re building a TV studio in my basement. I just came from Manhattan. I could hear a squirrel piss on a cotton ball outside of my window. It’s gorgeous. I hear birds. My neighbors, they don’t know anything, they wave. They’re all Japanese. I have no idea what they’re doing. They don’t know what we’re doing. Describe your personal style? Simon: I got my style from my grandma. She was a garmento back in the days and came up in the garment industry. She just had a knack for it. I like flair. I’m kind of naturally flashy. This is my thing, 80/20 rule. I like to dress 80 percent absolutely normal, everything looks normal, but 20 percent of everything I wear is a little bit off, but it fits, like accessories. I’ll dress all the way normal, but have a crazy tie or all the way normal, but a weird haircut. That’s what I’ve always liked to do. What inf luences your personal style? S: I go through phases. Some phases I literally am wearing suits and button-ups and cufflinks, you know, dress shoes. And then sometimes I’ll go through a phase where I want to wear flip flops and jeans. I like to go half the time, suited
up, “Boardwalk Empire” style and half the time hoodied-up, like Wu Tang Clan style. That’s the mix. How would you say you incorporate humor into your personal style? S: I like to dress flashy, but I don’t take myself too seriously and some people don’t realize that about me. Even when I was a kid, when I was 24, 25, I bought a chinchilla jacket and I used to wear it around. To me, it was a joke. I was not trying to one up you. Almost the way I saw it is like, Ad-Rock walking in with a fur jacket. Like the LMFAO that dress kind of crazy you know. To me, it was funny, but I eventually sold it to a consignment show because people thought I was trying to one up them or be really, really cooler than them and that wasn’t my intention. I do a lot of stuff like that, like try to wear flashy things, because I think it’s funny. I find the humor in it. Did you dress dif ferently when you lived on the East Coast? How has coming back to the West Coast changed how you present yourself ? S: When I moved to New York, I took a twobedroom apartment down to four boxes and two suitcases. It was like a purging. I just got rid of everything I owned, so when I got to New York, I was very much underdressed. So I went out and I bought button-ups. Lots of buttonups. Slacks and button-ups. Dark jeans and

Two guys will get together to watch a football game and they’re both wearing hundred dollar dress shirts. So I had to up my game. I just had to go shopping. Sometimes in life, kids, you just gotta go shopping. Favorite place to shop: Nordstrom’s the Rail is just simple. You’re in, there’s going to be something there for you. I would shop at Urbanity too. I like a lot of their stuff. Favorite place to eat: Daniel’s Broiler. Take me to Daniel’s, sit me down, I’m a happy guy. Favorite place to get drinks: Late night happy hour at the Belltown Pub. Favorite place to go dancing: I’ve been gone for a couple years. I used to do Belltown, but now living on Mercer Island, we’ve been hitting up that Blue Martini Lounge. Top three favorite designers/ brands: If money was not an object, I would probably dress in all Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss and Diesel.
