WELCOME to the 32nd Annual

WE Fest 32 years of WE Fest tradition, wow! For some of you it is your first WE Fest, and others have been with us since 1983. Without each of you, our fans, we are nothing but a dream... with you, we have become America's largest and best Country Music and Camping Festival! Thank you for supporting WE Fest. You have our sincere gratitude. WE Fest is much more than a concert, or an evening out...it is a vacation, a time to get reacquainted with old friends, a time to see great Artists, a time to have an experience of a life time...year after year. Your satisfaction is very important to us and we are committed to doing everything possible to make sure your experience is nothing less than amazing.

This year we have continued to build and improve the site. In the recent past, we have added the new stadium seating, and the Reserved Lawn Chair section that provides you with a comfortable durable commemorative chair to take home with you after the show. We built new and expanded bathrooms that make Soo Pass Ranch the ONLY venue of this size in the nation with NO port-a-potties in the Concert Bowl. We have upgraded our sound system and video walls to be the very best the industry has to offer. We work very hard to bring in a great host of vendors to meet all of your desires and needs from a variety of great food, to clothing and neat little shops. Obviously, just as important as all of this, we continue to hunt down and buy the best talent in the market. All of this is to make the site as comfortable for

SUNDY BEST Front porch melodies and lyrics grown out of the rocky topsoil of Eastern Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains intertwine Sundy Best’s roots into the songs they sing. They are storytellers, musicians, friends, and the impetus of the ‘kin folk movement’ that is organically connecting a strong music-loving family that believes in solid, real and relatable songs. The guys have been friends since they were in elementary school. They both grew up singing in their church for fun while starring in high school sports in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. After college sports success for each, Kris in basketball, and Nick in football, the friendship continued in music as they began playing patio parties, restaurants, and clubs, often playing 4 hours sets each night. Both prolific songwriters, they bring songs to each other and together create their own style and sound. They decided in 2012 to record some of these songs that they self-produced along with their friend and filmmaker Coleman Saunders, and independently released Door Without A Screen that year.

WALK of FAME

Backstage during the WE Fest celebrations, one can see Alan Curtis and his wife Paula sweating in the hot sun or trying to find a dry spot- shoveling cement and gravel into a growling 50 year old electric cement mixer. Hands-in cement are completed for every National act that comes to the WE Fest for the first time. Since 1997 many of these monuments have been displayed in the WE Fest Walk of Fame dedicated to Alan Curtis’ father Ethan Curtis and located in the Picnic area near the Barn Stage. All WE Festers should make a trip to the Walk of Fame, grab a cold Miller Lite and touch WE Fest Country music history.

ASHLEY MONROE Country singer Ashley Monroe was already a seasoned show business veteran when she released her self-titled album in 2007 at the tender age of 19. Born in Knoxville, TN, Monroe was born into a family with a great love for country music -- she's kin to Carl Smith and members of the Carter Family on her father's side -- and she developed a passion for music at an early age, taking her first piano lessons when she was only seven. At age 11, Monroe won a talent contest in Pigeon Forge, TN (home to Dolly Parton's resort Dollywood), singing Patsy Montana's western classic "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart"; she brought home a $100 prize, and she was soon a regular performer at a theater in Pigeon Forge. A few years later, Monroe began making trips to Nashville to perform her music in clubs along the fabled Lower Broadway district, and before long she pulled up stakes and moved to Music City. In 2006 Monroe's music found an appreciative ear at Columbia Records, and she teamed up with producer Mark Wright (whose clients include Clint Black, Gretchen Wilson, and Los Lonely Boys) to record her first album. – 28 –

Over the next few years, Monroe worked behind the scenes as both a songwriter and singer, having tunes appear on albums by Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert while often singing sessions at Jack White's Third Man Records. Along with Angaleena Presley, she formed Pistol Annies, whose 2011 eponymous debut became a significant hit. The success of Pistol Annies launched Monroe's solo career. She teamed with producer Vince Gill and released the album “Like A Rose” in March of 2013. See Ashley on the Main Stage, Thursday, August 7th.

CHARLIE

WORSHAM Country singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Worsham was born September 1, 1985 in Jackson, Mississippi, and music became his main interest at a young age. He started on the banjo, and was good enough on the instrument by the age of ten to play on-stage at the Ryman Auditorium with bluegrass great Jimmy Martin, and at the age of 12, after winning a Junior National Banjo Championship, he played onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, an accomplishment for a musician at any age. He consequently learned to play fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, and while living and working as a musician in Nashville was always his goal, he opted to attend the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston following his graduation from high school. Eventually Worsham did relocate to Nashville, where he worked on his songwriting and did session work. He also joined the critically lauded and respected Nashville band KingBilly, remaining with the group for nearly three years before deciding to go solo. Signing with Warner Bros. Records, he began recording a debut album. A single from the project, "Could It Be," which Worsham co-wrote, was released early in 2013 and quickly climbed into the Top 40 country charts. See Charlie on the Main Stage, Thursday, August 7th, 2014. – 30 –

FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE

The vehicle of Florida George Line's success was "Cruise," a slick, shimmering ode to the wide-open road that became an unkillable crossover hit in 2013 and, eventually, the biggest country single of all time. Unlike some fellow contemporary country bros, the duo of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard didn't swagger; they are bright, sunny, and friendly, a quality that was showcased on subsequent hits "Get Your Shine On," "Round Here," and "Stay." It's Just What We Do appeared in May of 2012, preceded by the single "Cruise." As "Cruise" ruled the country charts, a pop-oriented remix featuring rapper Nelly appeared as a separate single, turning the song into a pop hit; it climbed all the way to four on the Hot 100. The January 2013 single "Get Your Shine On" and its sequel, "Round Here" are both huge hits, but they were dwarfed by "Cruise," which is on its way to becoming the biggest country single of all time. – 32 –

JASON ALDEAN

Jason Aldine Williams was born on February 28, 1977 in Macon, GA. He spent the summers with his father in Homestead, FL, where his father helped him learn how to play the guitar. After high school, he joined a band, and played in college towns in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. He began writing songs, and at this time met Michael Knox, who was at that time with Warner-Chappell song publishers. He was signed to a publishing deal, and moved to Nashville. One night, after a showcase at the Wildhorse Saloon, Aldean met Lawrence Mathis, who signed on as his manager. This is where Jason decided he would give himself six more months to get a record deal, or move back to Georgia. Five weeks later, he was offered a deal from independent label "Broken Bow Records." In early 2005, Aldean released his first single, "Hicktown." The song went on to become his first Top 10 single. Aldean's second album was entitled Relentless. The lead single, "Johnny Cash," peaked at No. 6, and was followed by the ballad, "Laughed Until We Cried," which also went to No. 6. The title track was the third and final single to be released from the album. It peaked at No. 15 on the charts. – 34 –

BLACKJACK BILLY 10:45 P.M.

Hit songs, incredible high energy show, dedication to the fans, and the music, has led them to WE Fest this year. Based in Nashville, they describe their music as "Redneck Rock." Their debut single, "The Booze Cruise," was independently released in March 2013. Sirius XM satellite radio's new country channel "The Highway" began playing "The Booze Cruise" as a Highway "Find." It's cited as the biggest-selling song on iTunes by any band without a major record deal in the first half of 2013. As of Aug 12, 2013, the song has sold more than 100K in the US and more than 150K worldwide. See Blackjack Billy Wednesday & Thursday nights on the Barn Stage at WE Fest 2014. – 36 –

MAIDEN DIXIE

In the fall of 2011, an eclectic mix of interesting characters burst onto the Minneapolis music scene. The band mates of Maiden Dixie, comprised of four music/composition majors, two Iraq War combat veterans and a former Division One basketball player, combined their talents, their experience and their love of music to form a true bond with audiences at venues large and small. In just three short years that potent mix has made the band’s live shows one of the most sought-after tickets at venues across the Midwest. Maiden Dixie recorded their debut album, Little Black Dress, in the fall of 2013 in Nashville with producer Jim “Moose” Brown (co-writer of “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere.") The band is planning to be in studio for their second album, to be released in 2015. Over the winter months Maiden Dixie served as WE Fest Band Ambassador, taking time at their shows to give away tickets to WE Fest 2014. See them at WE Fest 2014 on the Barn Stage and on the Main Stage. – 46 –

CHRIS JANSON

In 2009, Janson recorded two duets with Holly Williams, granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr., on her album Here with Me. Instead of heading to veterinary school, his original plan, Janson moved to Nashville, Tennessee. On his first day in town, he secured a year long, four-show-a-day gig at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge on Nashville's Lower Broadway. One night, Neil Young was in the bar and was so impressed by Janson's take on the Young classic "Cortez the Killer" that he offered Janson a part in the Neil Young biopic "Heart of Gold". He co-wrote Tim McGraw's 2012 single "Truck Yeah", played harmonica on Lee Brice's album Hard 2 Love, and wrote the title track to Justin Moore's 2013 album Off the Beaten Path. He is signed with Bigger Picture Music Group, who is best known for his work with Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band. Janson's upcoming album will feature songs entirely co-written by him. His first release for Bigger Picture, "Better I Don't", entered the charts in February 2013. – 48 –

Randy was born in Lake, Mississippi. His father, a professional musician as well, performed at various local venues. Houser fronted his own band by age thirteen, and while attending East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, he formed a band called 10 lb. Biscuit. By 2002, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to begin a songwriting career. One of his first hits as a songwriter was "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", which he co-wrote with Jamey Johnson and Dallas Davidson. It was recorded by Trace Adkins for his 2005 album Songs About Me, and was a Top 5 single. After that success, Houser shifted his focus to performing, and started playing at local gigs in Nashville. CHRIS HAWKEY Sharing his high school years with high energy nights on stages around Ohio and Indiana set a career path for the singer that continues today with the release of Chris Hawkey, his first Nashville solo album. Although a six-year stint as lead vocalist for the hugely popular Minneapolis band Rocket Club (and three charted Billboard country singles) helped Chris develop a strong sense of musical identity, nothing prepared him for the sheer thrill of recording in Nashville in 2013. In early 2014, with the self-titled CD just weeks away from release, Chris received two more songs from his producer, songs which he – 62 –

says “flat knocked him out” and brought him back to Nashville for a whirlwind second studio session. The finished eight song album is a dynamic roller coaster ride that showcases the singer’s strengths and vision. From the album’s leadoff single, “My Kind of Crazy,” to songs like “Underdog,” “Prayers,” and “All I Can,” the album provides a looking glass view of Chris, both as a performer and as a person. Chris Hawkey also provides fans the opportunity to win tickets to WE Fest 2014 as a Band Ambassador. See him and his band at WE Fest 2014 on the Barn Stage and on the Main Stage.
