9. STUDENT LIFE

De La Salle High School has as its concern the total educational growth of each student entrusted to its care. Co-curricular activities are an integral part of student life as a means of social interaction and education Thus, participation in co-curricular activities and Campus Ministry is strongly encouraged

9.1 STUDENT LEADERSHIP

De La Salle High School Student Leadership represents students in all areas of student life. Consisting of Student Class Councils, the Lasallian Student Leadership class, and the Service Leadership class, these groups coordinate school-wide activities and social events to build school spirit. They also support fundraisers for community organizations. Guided by faculty moderators, student leadership efforts engage the student body and provide an environment for all students to become involved

Student Class Councils are made up of volunteer representatives from each class They work closely with their faculty moderator to plan events Lasallian Student Leadership and Service Leadership are academic seventh (7th) period classes Lasallian Student Leadership is composed of all elected class council officers and other interested students who have successfully completed an application process.

9.2 CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

De La Salle offers a number of clubs and organizations to encourage student involvement and creativity. All clubs and organizations have faculty moderators who work in conjunction with Student Leadership to maintain a high level of student initiative Through an application process, additional clubs may form each year as student interest dictates

9.3 RINGS

De La Salle currently contracts with Jostens for a variety of services, including special celebratory accomplishments or acknowledgments of our students and the creation of the Junior class ring used for the Junior Mass of Unity. Since this particular annual event is closely coordinated with Jostens, only rings purchased from them are distributed at the ceremony

9.4 YEARBOOK

De La Salle contracts with a photography vendor for a variety of services including Senior portraits. As per the contract, only these portraits may appear in the school’s annual yearbook. Yearbooks are distributed in May and are given only to students who have completed both first and second semesters of the current year. 2023-24 De La Salle High School Student-Parent Handbook Page 38 of 57
