CONFESSIONS FROM THE PUBLISHER The second try, better the first!
This team of professionals, artists, writers, and contributors is truly a dream team. Best of all, each of us loves doing what we do as we pool our talents to put together each publication...so much so that a devastating hard drive failure could not stop us from recovering lost artwork, photography and footage from 5 months of work on this very issue. Since we had the editorial shots and looks etched into our memories, we were able to rebuild content even better than the first time… but why confess such a thing to our readers? As an artist in the measure of design and photography, I believe in finding the blessings beyond the curse. The road to success is never straight, for if it were, our experiences would lack character, determination, vision, and the endurance we find within ourselves on the unexpected turns. After several repeated flights, editorial shoots and a handful of new back-up hard drives, I couldn’t be more appreciative of the work this team does. We grew stronger creating this issue and our readers get to be part of this journey. I’m certain you’ll be inspired. I am thrilled to share Issue No .4 with you, featuring Hayley Marie Norman on our cover. We’ve also captured in words Scorsetti Design’s passionate vision for interiors; offered a candid look inside the mind of couture enthusiast Kier Mellour; and shared intimate video interviews with incredible personalities. Indeed…”twice as nice” never felt sweeter. Sincerely,
DLXVRSN

TOUCHÉ:
A CULINARY DREAM COMES TRUE AS CARLA PELLEGRINO THRIVES IN MIAMI – By Patranya Bhoolsuwan
It’s an exciting time to be in Miami, especially if you are a foodie.
In the last year, a number of new restaurants featuring cuisines from around the globe have opened in this beautiful beachfront city. But one in particular has stood out, and its success has a lot to do with its Brazilian-born owner and chef Carla Pellegrino, who opened her restaurant and rooftop lounge, Touché, in Downtown Miami last spring. “We are conquering Miami,” says Pellegrino. “The response has been great!” A former Top Chef contestant and award-winning restaurateur, Pellegrino says Touché offers an array of comforting and classic Italian dishes in its indoor dining area, while in the trendy rooftop lounge space—above the popular nightclub E11Even—the food is international and exotic. “We have everything from chicken satays, to Kobe beef sliders, to coconut shrimp. We even feature a sushi bar! 18 | DLXVRSN Magazine SS15 Reloaded
But I serve up everything with my own personal twist,” says Pellegrino, who also owns Bratalian, located in Henderson, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas. Both eateries offer everything from decadent pastas and pizzas to gorgeous salads and desserts. Pellegrino says that like Las Vegas, she’s always been drawn to the energy and passion of Miami and is happy to see positive changes in this city over the last few years. “The city is changing quickly,” she says. There’s a lot of new money, a lot of investors especially from South America. I want to grow with this city.” Pellegrino also says that Touché’s location couldn’t be sexier, and thanks to E11evn, her restaurant is quickly becoming the hot spot for jet setters and celebrities who go in for both pre-dancing dinner or after-hour drinks and appetizers. But whomever goes through the door, Pellegrino says the secret to making them return is treating them like family and close friends, and feeding them food that you

would serve to those you love. “My food is unpretentious,” says Pellegrino. I believe in cooking what you would make your mom or for your children. If you care about who you are serving, people will follow you.” As for her next adventure, it’s very likely that Pellegrino could be opening even more restaurants. Every launch gives her a “rush,” much like how she feels when she spends time in Miami. She loves the energy, but also the comfort of the sand and the sea. They remind her of her native Brazil. Her hope is that the food and atmosphere of Touché will become a mainstay in this ever-changing city. “The food scene in Miami excites me…and so [do] the people I meet,” says Pellegrino. “There’s so much room to grow here and I am happy to be a part of it.”

Kier Mellour (sounds like “key-
air”) knows fashion and loves telling you about it. The founder of KierCouture.com, she’s become a trusted source by those who trust her fashion sense…and why wouldn’t you? Possessing beauty and an incomparable spirit, read what motivates this fashion maven to populate her blog with pictures folks can’t take their eyes off of. What’s the hardest thing for you as a fashion blogger? The hardest thing for me is not to compare myself to other fashion bloggers. The market is really saturated right now. It’s hard to figure out what’s working and what’s not. Until recently, that was my main focus. Now, I don’t care what’s ‘working for other people.’ I’m just finally trying to be me.
How would you define your online presence? I’m definitely over the top. I think I have a unique perspective. You don’t have to be sporty or edgy or sexy, You can be all three. That’s what’s different about me. I don’t just dress one certain way. It’s like, whoever I am that day is totally different than whoever I was before, but it’s like my truth that day. What’s your favorite style component to fit into your daily wardrobe? I love girly stuff. I think that showing your legs is a great way to be sexy and not overt. I just love dressing in skirts. When I was a little girl I would not wear pants. I would only wear dresses. I think it kind of stuck….I wear a lot of A-line skirts and mini-skirts.
What do you love about what you do the most? Ever since I can remember I would always be trying on all my clothes as much as possible and walking downstairs and showing my family. “Ok, look at this outfit, look at this outfit.” And that’s just my job now…to play dress up and show everyone my outfits.
What else do you think is important that you want people to know? I think it’s important for even me, who isn’t a huge blogger but who has some influence, to every once in a while post things that “matter.” Like, I donate blood every 6 months if I can, and I post about it whenever I do. I know some people post about animal rights and whatever they’re really passionate about. And I think that’s important. If you have any influence whatsoever, you should do some good with it. I try to bring awareness [about] donating blood. I’m type O-positive, which is really rare, and I’m a universal donor, [so doctors] can use my blood for anyone…but I can only receive type-O positive. If someone needs type-O positive blood, they might not get it because they’ve used it for everyone else, so I think it’s important to donate. [Also]: “Leave the place a little better than it was.”

MORE THAN SKIN AND BONES, RENOWN RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGEON
DR.PAUL NASSIF
HELPS PEOPLE PUT THEIR BEST FACES FORWARD
–By Gabriella Bellamy (Questions By Julienne Gibeson) With more than 25 years’ experience and a deep affinity for the science behind bone and skin structure, Paul Nassif, MD, FACS, has built a dexterous career in facial plastic surgery and rhinoplasty…and it’s safe to say he’s been just as successful at pushing his name and knowledge beyond surgical doors and into mainstream pop culture.
To promote a better understanding of the benefits (and comfort) of cosmetic surgery, Nassif has been featured on E! Entertainment’s Dr. 90210 and has been interviewed by NBC Nightly News, Inside Edition, CBS Healthbeat, Entertainment Tonight, NBC’s TODAY show, EXTRA, and the BBC. Currently, he can be seen on E! Entertainment’s hit reality television show Botched, as one of the lead plastic surgeons, beside fellow doctor Terry Dubrow. DLXVRSN magazine had the opportunity to ask Nassif about his success on and off the show, the launch of his product line, NASSIF MDTM Bio-Rhythmic Skincare™, and his life’s many accomplishments. DLXVRSN: Describe your journey so far and what it has taught you about being one of the world’s best reconstructive surgeons. Dr. Nassif: The journey began when I started doing plastic surgeries, starting with aging face surgeries, eyelifts and noses. Then I was on the show Dr. 90210 and that was one of the bigger shows. From there I went on Housewives of Beverly Hills and now we’re in our second season of Botched. Where I’m at now is [doing] something that I absolutely love. Botched is very educational and also helps teach our patients what not to do, and what they can do properly with surgery. With people having more plastic surgeries, it leads to people having problems and making mistakes,
such as going to the wrong doctors, or having illegal substances injected into them. So there are more complications, and our goal is to help prevent that. So [by] being on this show and advising what not to do, we hope to educate everyone about this trend, making sure [people] know to go to a board-certified facial plastic surgeon. DLXVRSN: You’re known around the world for correcting patients with some of the most challenging, complicated cases. What inspired you to help others in this way, on and off the show Botched? Dr. Nassif: As a surgeon, your whole goal is to help people. With what we do as facial reconstructive surgeons, helping patients — transforming their lives from something devastating that’s happened to them—is probably the number one reason why I do this. Part of the show’s [structure] is taking patients where a lot of their life has been affected. If we can get them improved somewhat, whether it’s 10 percent 100 percent, that’s what makes the show and what makes it so rewarding for me. The patients I don’t operate on, I give them good advice, hopefully not to do things; or if there are patients that we can’t help at all, we try to prevent things from happening. So if we can prevent a problem, that’s also a win-win. DLXVRSN: We are living in a beauty- and youth-driven society where people are more and more hung up on the latest anti-wrinkle advancement. In your professional opinion, what is the most effective method for prevention? Dr. Nassif: There are different types of things that take care of your skin. Starting [with] the invasive ways or procedures such as Botox, which obviously is a great thing to use for DLXVRSN Magazine SS15 Reloaded | 41
Dr. Paul Nassif wrinkle reduction, there are newer procedures that can help with fine wrinkles, too. Platelet Rich Plasma also known as “blood facials” or “micro needling,” uses a hand held-device that osculates back and forth and puts small punctures into your dermis that stimulates collagen and growth. Then there are the obvious at-home remedies such as drinking water, wearing sunscreen, staying out of the sun, sleeping well, and even staying indoors because of the toxins in the air that called oxidation. That’s why we have things called anti-oxidants. Being out in the environment, free radical oxidation occurs which hurts your body and your skin. That’s what causes us to age. That’s why we hear [about] things like anti-oxidants, whether they’re in food, vitamins or skin care. DLXVRSN: Tell our readers more about your skincare line. Dr. Nassif: I wanted to create something that would take care of the negative effects of the environment with the bio-rhythms of the skin. Bio-rhythms are the 24-hour cycles that controls the biological clock of our body. Whether you sleep two hours or eight hours, we want your skin to look like you’ve slept eight hours. There’s also something called HEV (high-energy visible) light that damages your skin. When we’re on the computer all day long or even using our iPads and phones, HEV damages your skin, which is called “photo aging.” Our Clock AM™ Day Serum, contains Lipo Shield, which helps defend the skin from environmental assault. Then we have our Dawn to Dusk™ Exfoliating Cleanser which has jojoba and ivory palm seed spheres that instantly rid the skin of dead cells and surface impurities. Our Clock PM™ Night Serum rejuvenates and detoxifies the skin during the rest phase. DLXVRSN: Readers love to hear stories and constructive advice coming from someone who is successful. How did you pave your way toward your accomplishments? Dr. Nassif: I’d always wanted to become a doctor. I was pre-med in business—my grades were okay—[but] I didn’t get into med school the first year. I persevered, but I ended up getting into medical school last minute, my last year. After I did that, I studied 17 hours a day, striving to be the best that I could. To be successful, you have to work your tail off, to strive to be the best you can be and do whatever you can to grow. If you ever have that thought in your
NASSIF’S ESSENTIALS NASSIF MD™ Bio-Rhythmic Skincare™ is the first line to address the dramatic and diverse bio-rhythmic changes our skin experiences during the day versus the night, as well as the negative effects of travel and busy lifestyles on your skin. mind, “Did I do the best I could? Should I have done this?” you have to stop and go back. Ninety-nine percent of the time the answer is yes, [so] go back and fix that. By doing this, hopefully it will [bring] success to you. DLXVRSN: What would you say are your top three accomplishments thus far? Dr. Nassif: Number one would be having three boys. Having children and trying to be the best father I can be. I’m always learning how to improve my parenting. Now that both my parents are gone, I feel like I was a good son. I was respectful of my mother and father and I think that’s really important. Number three would be accomplishing something that I’ve always wanted to do and becoming extremely successful; sticking to being humble and being a good person; not changing; and never minimizing my work. I never take an easy way out. DLXVRSN: Do you have a favorite patient? Dr. Nassif: This little boy came in who had been attacked by a dog, and it devastated this child. I helped with 10 or 20 surgeries on this child and I fell in love with not only plastic reconstruction, but I fell in love with this child. No matter how bad it was for him, he would always blow us a little kiss. It was the cutest little thing in the world. This little boy is my favorite patient of all time…but I have so many patients that I love and incredibly adore. I can’t just pick a favorite. Every week I meet someone spectacular. Sometimes, every day.

DESIGN’S FUTURE
HAS ROOTS IN HER PAST
Family passion and contemporary, international flair are the keys to Angeles Scorsetti’s one-to-watch success. – By Jen Chase
If it were up to Angeles Scorsetti, she’d beautify the world
one space at a time until her exotic fingers were too weak to hold a bolt of fabric. The interior designer born Maria de los Angeles Scorsetti—a South American stunner in her own right—has been decorating for 12 years under her own name; and with clientele from Ted Turner to Joe Everyman seeking her services across the country (Scorsetti Design, LLC, has collaborated with clients in Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and abroad), a lifetime’s work might not be long enough to satisfy her fans. But she’ll try. “There is not one focus,” says Scorsetti of her firm’s design
perspective. “Some designers are stuck with one design… [but] I think I have my own signature. “It’s different,” she adds. “We can do everything. We can go contemporary, modern….It’s all about beauty.” Sit in a Scorsetti-designed space and from floor trim to ceiling, there’s something noticeable at every turn. Known for creating those breathtaking, first-impression, ah-ha moments you yearn for when stepping into a spectacularly designed space, Scorsetti materializes her clients’ concepts— no matter their variety, diversity or complexity—thanks to her well-rounded past: she earned a design degree in Ar-

gentine Italian Heritage from Centro de Estudio de Interior Design & Architectural School (she was born in Argentina), and enjoyed stints at design firms Dwell and Elvio Allocatti in L.A. She’s also fluent in four languages (English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, if you’re curious). But the most profound influence on her design acumen was fostered during childhood. “My grandpa used to be a general contractor, so I kind of grew up around [design],” she says. With her dad’s hobby of flipping houses and her mother’s love of beautiful antiques, it was a given that Little Angeles would absorb mad design skills through osmosis, alone. “This is coming from my family,” she says of her design interests, recalling that at 18, she and her family began opening furniture/design stores—four in total—in Bariloche, Argentina. Working beside her father, Scorsetti’s learning the ins and outs of buying for the company sent her to and fro furniture shows in the United States. The United States was a country she’d come to love, and today, Scorsetti lives in Las Vegas, where her local work has touched some 300 units at the Panorama Towers at 40 at The Martin, the two high rises behind the Aria and Vdara resorts, respectively. In 2010, Scorsetti Design was hired for the $13 million remodel of Panorama’s twin towers— its lobbies and vestibules, among other spaces—and her

company recently turned a Mandarin Oriental penthouse from grey shell to gorgeous (to the tune of a resale value singing softly at nearly $1300/square foot). But it’s not just big fish that tug Scorsetti’s line. “We are very open with all clients,” she says. “We work with everyone, and every budget,” adding that her firm is so full service, it still gives clients sketches and renderings of their to-be-designed spaces, and provides them with a team of designers, architects and general contractors to work on each project. The firm strives to accommodate clients in every way…clients who, in Scorsetti’s world, are always right. “Each project is like a baby,” she says proudly. “It’s a process. We enjoy it. I love what I do. It’s a passion.”

Hayley Firing Up Hollywood – By Patranya Bhoolsuwan
On the off chance you haven’t heard of Hayley Marie Nor-
man, don’t worry. She’s making a splash and doing it on her own terms, whether you’re paying attention or not.
“I just think I have been unabashedly me…I bring myself to the work and characters I portray,” says Norman. “I embrace everything about me.”
The 26-year-old actress is no stranger to Hollywood. But when DLXVRSN magazine recently sat with her at a Las Vegas photo shoot, she was more girl-next-door than starlet…and that, she says, is what she loves most about herself.
That kind of self-love has taken practice. Being Russian on her mother’s side and African-American on her father’s, Norman admits that growing up in Southern California’s mostly white neighborhood of Agoura Hills, she didn’t always fit in. But Norman has, in her way, stood out. One day

“I love the beach, and it’s dream to
have gorgeous men serve me alcohol while I lay out in the sun.” – Hayley Marie Norman
when she was 7, she caught the eyes of one of the most beautiful women in the world, supermodel Cindy Crawford. Crawford noticed Norman in a restaurant in Malibu where Norman was eating with her dad, walked up to her father, handed him the name of her agent and said, “your daughter should be a model.” Norman then spent most of her childhood modeling and doing commercials, even participating in an ad campaign for Mattel that led her to becoming the face of the African-American Barbie. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Upright Citizens Brigade (where she is now a main-stage performer on a house team), Norman embarked on her acting career in Hollywood. One of her first recognizable roles in the entertainment world was as Case #25 on the game show Deal or No Deal. Norman quickly became a fan favorite with her sparkling personality and big curly hair. She says the experience on the show was priceless, but she knew there were bigger things down the road. “The show actually was the first source of financial stability for me,” says Norman. “It allowed me to go out and track down other acting projects while being able to support myself in Hollywood.” Norman has since appeared in a number of movies including Hancock with Will Smith, Norbit with Eddie Murphy and Fired Up! On television, she has appeared in The New Girl; enjoyed recurring roles on both Selfie and The Game; and been in episodes of Bones, The Exes, and multiple CSI franchise episodes, among others. In 2014, Norman landed what she calls an “exciting character role” starring in Top Five, written and directed by Chris Rock and loved by critics (a sequel is reportedly in the works). Portraying someone unlike herself—a groupie-type woman out for money from rich men—Norman was able to
52 | DLXVRSN Magazine SS15 Reloaded
make bold choices about how to play the character thanks to her past, er, “observational skills.” “I have seen too many of those girls during my years as a model and I vowed never to be one of them,” says Norman. “It’s ironic how I got to channel one of them in that movie.” Aside from acting, Norman plans to produce her own TV shows and movies. She is staying busy with a number of projects, none of which is a serious boyfriend. For now. “I like someone who’s nice, truthful and honest. Why is that so hard to find?” she says laughing. These days, while not at work, Norman is enjoying time with friends and family. A passionate vegan, she loves checking out new healthy foodie spots including Crossroads and Gracias Madre in Los Angeles. She also looks forward to getting away to tropical destinations, including her first trip to the Bahamas this year. “I love the beach, and it’s dream to have gorgeous men serve me alcohol while I lay out in the sun,” says Norman. Another thing Norman loves is shopping. She is currently crushing on designers with vegan lines including Vivienne Westwood and Givenchy. (She swears by Westwood’s sustainable and oh-so- trendy heels!) You can look for Norman, strutting in her hot new eco-friendly heels, at another movie premiere in the near future which she calls the culmination of everything she’s worked so hard for. For now, Norman can reveal the secret to her success (so far)...one that many of us should adopt from this down-toearth rising star: “I think hard work and persistence are the number one things. Persistence will get you farther than talent in this town and business.”

GOOD AS GOLD Mark Nash Spills On Grillz
NASH’S GOLD
Redefining the golden touch! – By Mericia González
I
“ ’m about the customization of it. Most people contact me and they say they want something that they’ve seen before, and that will turn me off. I want a client that comes to me and says, ‘I want something unique.’ I like to come up with new designs things people haven’t seen before.” – Mark Nash Unique, individual and incomparable are just some of the ways to describe Grillz by Nash, a custom jewelry line in Las Vegas. If you’ve been in a cave for the last few decades, Grillz are a type of jewelry worn over the teeth made popular by hip-hop artists in the early 80s. They hit iconic pop-culture status in the mid-2000s thanks to the rise of Southern hip-hop rap, and Mark Nash is the man behind them.
so mainstream now with women artists like Beyoncé getting Grillz—designers and social media—it’s become so acceptable. It wasn’t like that before.” So what does Nash see for the future? “I want to see customizable jewelry become accessible to everyone. I want people to be able to take [someone’s] idea and make it at an affordable price.” For info on Mark Nash’s pop-up shops in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, or to learn more about his fashion designing and modeling, follow Nash on Instagram at @Mark__Nash.
Nash’s road to custom jewelry design came from his love of fashion and hip-hop. Looking for unique pieces for his own wardrobe that he just couldn’t find in typical stores, he went to a jewelry designer friend to learn the craft. From there his jewelry creations lead to Grillz. Unlike designers who create pieces for mass re-sale, Nash is clear about his pieces being one of a kind, custom, and exclusive. Comparing a mouth’s individuality to a fingerprint’s, since no two are the same, Grillz won’t be, either. “I’m very particular [about] with whom I’ll work with and where I want my work and my pieces going,” he says. “I want [my pieces] to reflect my brand on certain people with certain styles.” Nash likes to work with tastemakers who are prominent in their industry, such as international DJs who have an impact on music or fashion models who make movements in their field. “…Hip-hop and jewelry have always gone hand in hand since the culture was created,” he says. “It’s always been about being on top, being No. 1, and you want your jewelry to reflect that in your style. Now, it’s no longer who has the biggest chain, but who has that custom piece that can be elegantly styled.” With more and more women are asking for Grillz, pieces are becoming even more mainstream. “I think the trend is

Express manicures are simply the basics: trimming or filing the nails, removing any cuticle, and either buffing the nail to a high shine or applying a treatment. Some men prefer a high shine while others are opting for the more fashion-forward version of a matte nail treatment (look no farther than runways in New York and Europe for examples). The Art Of
‘NETIQUETTE’ –By Mariah Walton
In today’s world (and especially for those of us who con-
sider ourselves “modern professionals”), we communicate via email and social media multiple times a day, often introducing ourselves electronically before ever laying eyes on someone. It’s a turn in our work culture that’s forcing professionals to remember that the same niceties we put forth during face-to-face interactions are just as necessary during ones of the electronic variety. Netiquette is a blend of “Internet’ and “étiquette.” I could write a novella about this topic; however, since I am limited to a column, let us examine a few do’s and don’ts when holding dialogue digitally. Starting with email. First impressions on a digital screen are just as important as ones made in person, so…
DO keep a polite and professional tone!
When writing something professional to someone you don’t know, you want to avoid emoticons, emojis, or slang terms, especially when you haven’t yet developed a rapport with this person. These can often be misunderstood and cause your plan to win over a new contact with casual banter to backfire.
DO use spell check and edit your email before hitting the Send button.
A great habit to get into is typing in your recipient’s email address AFTER you have spell-checked and re-read your note. That way, you will avoid accidentally sending your email with mistakes…mistakes that could be be quite costly. Why take a chance when you don’t have to?!
DO wait until you’ve calmed down before sending a heated email.
I always recommend waiting overnight and into the next day because you would be surprised what new feelings and emotions you will have the morning after you have slept on an issue. When it is time to write, project your thoughts with civility, class and taste, regardless what you’re writing about. Always take the higher road. The low road is so crowded. Now, there are of course a few faux pas-subjects we must identify, as well. In no particular order….
DON’T put anything in an email that you wouldn’t say directly to the person.
You never want to come across as the person who hides behind his or her computer, demanding and confrontational like the Wizard of Oz, so be careful! Only state in your notes what you would confidently say if you were face-to-face with the recipient…because you never know when you will be.
DON’T expect a rapid response.
People have lives. Shockingly, we are not always on the top of everyone’s priority list. I like to give a cap of 48 hours to my recipient for their response timeframe. Using this practice, I am not disappointed when I don’t receive a response right away yet pleasantly surprised if I do.
DON’T email a novel to your regarded reading recipient.
Longer emails should have attachments, and that fact should be mentioned in the body of the email. For example: Dear Mr. Smith, Attached is the proposal we spoke of earlier this afternoon. When you have a moment, please do share your thoughts as I am anticipating your feedback. Good Day, Ms. Walton That is the proper way to send a note with lengthy content. You want to advise the reader that the attachment is there and that you are (patiently) awaiting his or her response. Netiquette and etiquette for business are topics I hold close to my heart, Dear Readers, and there are many avenues we shall travel together as we unfold topics relative to achieving success in our varied places of work. When next we meet, I will discuss social-media savviness, and the magic behind remaining sharp, chic, and select in your approach to your digital image.

On Love & Technology: Experts Say Love Can Be
JUST A CLICK AWAY Options abound for people looking for love online. From
Match.com and EHarmony to OKCupid and Tinder, many singles have become expert relationship hunters thanks to these dating sites…but when it comes to successfully making an online connection, most would attest it’s easier said than done. However, it’s not impossible. I met my husband on Yahoo Personals 10 years ago, back when online dating was still considered taboo. (In fact, for years, I didn’t want to admit that I didn’t meet him through friends or at a bar.) But the perception of online dating being embarrassing or weird is long gone as more people around the world are going online to find love than ever before. And according to L.A.- based dating expert and life coach Brooke Lewis, there are ways to greatly increase your odds of making technology work for you during your e-search for “the one.”
DLXVRSN: Secondly, you say that once you are interested in someone, you should try to meet as soon as possible (or at least get on the phone). BL: Absolutely! You can’t get to know each other well through online messages or texts! A phone conversation is necessary, but you still won’t know if you have chemistry until you meet in person. To be truly fearless in dating, you have to be willing to go offline and make that first date happen. DLXVRSN: Lastly, you say to “make the technology work for you, not the other way around.”
BL: Yes. That means be creative! There are plenty of other social sites out there including ones like MeetUp.com that allow you to connect with people with similar interests, DLXVRSN: You started your career as an actress. How did from hiking and art to food and wine. You sign up online and then meet these people in your community, and you become a dating/life coach? I would say that’s the best way to find love … when you do! Very insecure with body issues. Over the years, I have learned to love myself for who I am and I think women and men have to conquer that first before reaching out to find love. Once you become fearless, you will allow yourself to be vulnerable, and that’s the best way to begin your search for the kind of person you want to end up with for the rest of your life!

DLXVRSN: You have three main tips for successful online dating, and it all starts with being honest in your dating website profile. BL: You would not believe how many people lie on dating sites! Everything from their age, weight, height, to where they live. Some even put up outdated profile pictures that don’t look like them anymore. My advice is to be honest from the start, because in the end you want the person you connect with to do the same. Be clear from the beginning about who you are looking for and what you want from a relationship. Also, be honest with yourself if something doesn’t feel right. You don’t have to go out with everyone who emails or responds.
