Editor’s Note

Hey Key Clubbers! I’m Trischelle, your new bulletin editor for the ‘23-‘24 term! I love this club, and I am so excited to be on board this term and be able to make an impact in the club that has helped me so much. I’m glad I’ll be able to work along side so many wonderful officers and members. I will work my best to give you quality newsletters and updates. Let’s make this year a great one!

A Letter From Your A Letter From Your President President

Heya everyone! My name is Hana Burgess and I proudly serve as desert oasis’s new key club president! I cannot wait to see the amazing thing we can do next key club year! As a true key club member, I have been attending meetings since 2020, it holds a special place in my heart. All the wonderful things this club does together and for the community is honestly incredible.

Being the president is truly a dream come true. One that I would never believe would occur. With this said, I will do my best to make key club a safe and joyful place where endless possibilities and unforgettable memories are made. Thank you! And I hope to see all your bee-uties at our meeting next year!

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! It is designated for spreading awareness and education about mental health and support. It allows us to come together as a community to fight stigma, educate many about mental health, and provide support to those that are struggling. There are millions of people across the U. S affected by mental illnesses. We are always there for you so don’t be afraid to reach out!

Erika’s Lighthouse

This month’s ‘spotlight on service’ for the district is Erika’s Lighthouse. This non profit service organization is dedicated to raising awareness about adolescent depression and encouraging support and good mental health. They provide hope and support to children and families across the country. They have many resources and tools you can use!

“Key Club will always have a special place in my heart It’s allowed me to branch out to the local community and help out those who are less fortunate It’s made me the kind of person and leader I am today The wonderful people I’ve met through Key Club do amazing things for the world and the environment the club has is so welcoming that even as a freshman, I wasn’t intimidated by the idea of high school. I enjoyed seeing my friends from other schools at different events and even bonding with people from other states over our love for service. Key Club has shown me it’s not difficult to help others, and even the smallest gesture of kindness goes a long way. “

“Key club has impacted me in so many different aspects that I can confidently say without the club I wouldn't be the person I am now. Not only has key club given me so many invaluable lessons, but has also given me the opportunities to make life long friends. I have enjoyed everything I’ve done from key club and the impression that it made on me will stay with me for the rest of my life:) <3”

With the school year coming to a close, we would like to put a spotlight on the many seniors that have greatly impacted our club.

“In many ways, key club has made a big impact on my life I joined key club during the pandemic, so my experience in key club started out a bit differently than other people Regardless of the online barrier between me and the rest of my clubmates, key club instantly felt so welcoming. It has taught me many things that I can continue to use throughout my entire life. For example, communication, kindness, awareness, leadership, public speaking, and much more. I enjoyed key club as a general member and taking part of service events so much that I had decided to run for board. Running for board has been one of the best decisions of my high school career Not only did I have so much fun serving as my club's VP of Spirit to make cheers and create positive energy within the club, but I loved connecting with more people Key club has helped me to come out of my shell and made my high school experience more memorable ”

Cabosao, 22-23 VP of Spirit

Key club was definitely an eye opener for me It taught me the understanding of life and helped me grow as a person. It also taught me life lessons as well. Even though I've been in Key Club for 2 full years and in and out for my underclassmen, Key Club was what made my high school career. I came to Key Club just wanting to look good on my college application, but all the fun memories and moments made me more passionate about this club

Thank you so much for all the things you guys have done! We will miss you!!

”I always enjoy going to these district and division events. I get to meet so many new people and learn about the club and becoming a better officer. OTC has made me really excited about my position, and I can’t wait to work with other officers from other key clubs! I also taught my table how to make origami dinosaurs when the workshop was over.”

“OTC is an amazing experience for officers to get an understanding of what their position is. For me personally, I made new friends among the vice presidents of the region and we even went over the duties of the other positions. It was a really good time and I would absolutely recommend it to any incoming or new board!”

”OTC was super fun! This was my first time going so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I am so glad I went because I learned so much, and I met such cool people! The icebreakers were also so fun and creative!”
