PRIVATE SPACE
DESIGN BRIEF:
SCALE:1:100 Legends
This design I aim to create a sense of tranquility. When I first visited this place, there is a small stone wall lay behind an old tree(mature tree) and it is comparatively empty compare to the surroundings. I chose this place because there are two interesting slopes, one is about 5meters long and smooth while the other one is steep, but still accessible if you are cautious about your steps.I remember clearly , there was one cyclist riding his bicycle through the flat path in between the two slopes(where I was standing) and later it becomes the issue I want to tackle in this design. For me tranquility is about quiet and safe and the wall behind really remind me of a arm around people, it is like parents protecting their children. I start to think about a place for family group and also allow the cyclists use this place as well. In this design, I create the sunken place for cyclists to use also people can walk through if they want to.Using vegetation to separate paths for visitors to walk, leading them to different places. Making the place I have visited into a private space via using vegetation, but visitors can still hear or see the surroundings through the gaps in between proposed vegetation.
