THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
GAVIN BALDWIN Good afternoon and welcome back to the Keepmoat Stadium, I’d like to welcome the supporters, owners, players and staff who have travelled over from Lancashire today. I hope you share my belief that we had a very positive January transfer window. We had to be patient, but were effective in ensuring we got the players that we wanted. With Seny Dieng and Ben Sheaf’s loans extended early we got the month off to a great start, then had a busy final week. The nature of the transfer window is most deals are only completed in the final few days, and while we always want to get work done early it’s sometimes simply impossible.

Credit should go to Darren Moore and our talent identification manager Adam Henshall, as well as the owners for providing the backing to ensure we got our targets. It was fantastic to see Jacob Ramsey score twice on his debut at Tranmere on Wednesday night, with Fejiri Okenabirhie also getting off the mark quickly. Devante Cole also had an excellent game on his first start, meaning all the new boys really hit the ground running. I’m sure those of you who were unable to get to Prenton Park in midweek are relishing today as a first opportunity to see some of the new boys in action. I hope some of you have already managed to get down to see our Rovers140 Hub in the Frenchgate shopping centre, with our

Foundation putting on various events there throughout the month. I’d like to thank club statistician John Coyle who gave up his time yesterday to give a talk on the club’s history - with more events to come. It is a busy period around the place at the moment. It was great to see Andy Butler step in as the new Belles manager and has clearly already been accepted by the girls with two great wins, both with clean sheets, in his first two league games. We turned to a coach who was already known to
us due to his work with the Rovers’ Academy, another example of the benefits we feel the Club Doncaster structure has. The Dons are also getting their season underway with a Challenge Cup game away at Thornhill Trojans today - good luck to Richard Horne and the boys as they head into the campaign. Enjoy the game.
