CHIEF EXECUTIVE

GAVIN BALDWIN Good afternoon and welcome back to the Keepmoat Stadium. I would like to welcome the supporters, players, staff and owners who have made the trip up from Buckinghamshire today. I have no doubt you will see a reaction today after the narrow defeats at Gillingham and Shrewsbury. They were frustrating to watch as in all honesty we felt we should have come away with at least a point from each game. We know the points gap to the play-offs has increased with those results, but rest assured no one at the club is ready to write off a top-six finish yet and every single thing we do is designed to give ourselves the best chance of doing that. Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Foundation’s book drive in aid of World Book Day. I know they were overwhelmed at the generosity when they launched at the Belles’ home game against Long Eaton, then again when they opened their doors here at the Keepmoat Stadium on Monday. With collections before today’s game and before the Dons take on Barrow Raiders tomorrow we expect to have a small library of books to hand over to partner schools. The thoughts of everyone at Club Doncaster last week was with the friends and family of Harry Gregg, who made 99 appearances for Rovers before being signed for Manchester United by Matt Busby for a world record fee in 1957 and becoming a hero of Munich. He was one of the first players

inducted into Rovers’ hall of fame in recognition of the contribution he made to the club, earning himself a richly deserved move to the Busby Babes of Manchester United. Harry's strength of character was never more evident than the year after his move to Old Trafford when his bravery helped save the lives of team-mates on that tragic night in Munich. From everyone at Rovers, may he rest in peace. It has been really pleasing to see the positive reaction to the announcement of The Killers playing here in May. Having a band of that calibre - they headlined at Glastonbury just last year - is a testament to how we have grown in recent years as Club Doncaster. That they see us as an ideal place to go through their final preparations before their UK tour, and to kick it off with us, shows

we have the facilities, staff and organisation to match anyone. We sometimes don't give ourselves enough credit, but we've come a long way in the past few years. As I write these notes there are still some tickets available, though the expectation is they will sell out. If you want to come down it is worth checking out www.ticketmaster. co.uk and www.gigsandtours. com as the only official vendors. Hospitality and accessible seating are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office by calling 01302 765899 or going to tickets. clubdoncaster.co.uk. Enjoy the game.
