This approach recognized that when one tourism operator welcomes a new visitor, other operators win too since tourists consume a variety of services throughout their journey. A wide variety of keywords and advertisements gathered the eyes of potential tourists on common destination pages that used a “best of” format to combine conversations that might not otherwise belong together. From there, the pages redistributed engaged visitors to the sites and telephones of operators for incremental bookings and elongated trips. Now, with COVID-19 threatening our collective health and crushing tourism, this award would recognize how hard work and new ideas bring disparate groups together to produce results that are greater than the sum of their parts. The award would be a ray of sunshine for a community and industry socked in by storm clouds. MPG Marketing is an internal agency serving 7 dealerships under the Bruce Auto Group umbrella in Nova Scotia. We needed a solution to automatically and quickly create a search ad whenever a new vehicle entered into inventory. Creating ads was very labour-intensive and over 50% of vehicles in inventory had no corresponding search ad – meaning missed opportunities. The solution? Daily feeds of our inventory were collected using Microsoft Flow. Inventory files contained useful information, such as Make, Year, Model and Pricing Data, but they needed clean up. Once cleaned, the data was moved to Google Sheets and made available to Optmyzr where the data was combined with another sheet of headlines and descriptions - assembling Google and Microsoft Ads. The spreadsheets provided a simple interface for users with no technical knowledge. This made it possible for them to contribute to ad copy and increase our quality. They could update taglines while the bulk of the ad assembly was automated. The result? Personalized ads for all vehicles were online in less than 1 day with no daily intervention. Headlines were fresh and relevant. CTR’s skyrocketed from 1-3% to over 20%! We reduced ad cost almost 300% while increasing leads 25-35%. We focus on messaging now, not the tedium of ad building.

We are comprised of a young and hard working creative team ideating and executing digital marketing campaigns across many industries. The campaign that we are entering into the Best Use of Content Marketing is the #DanceTheSlurp 2019 campaign that we created, pitched to 7-Eleven and executed on their behalf. 7-Eleven Canada wanted us to create a digital campaign leading up to free Slurpee, aka 7-11 day. They challenged us to create a viral dance campaign that invited people from all over Canada to participate in and create UGC around their dance. We had a grammy award winning artist remix their classic “Dance The Slurp” record released in 1967 to give it an updated hiphop feel and also had a professional choreographer come up with a dance. We then created a three phase marketing campaign that ended up in over 2500+ videos of people “dancing the slurp” submitted as UGC to instagram in posts and stories from every corner of Canada, ranging from ages 8 - 40 years old. Dance studios across Canada also participated, dance choreographers also got involved modifying the dance into longer choreo performances that they uploaded to Instagram and youtube. The end result was over 11 million impressions of #DanceTheSlurp content, 1,000,000+ article views through earned media channels, and 690,000 social engagements in comments, likes, and reshares.

Invoice template alone has 300,000 searches per month globally. We consistently ranked top 3 for this keyword since hitting #1 about 5 months into the campaign, often holding the #1 spot. Invoice templates is now the most-trafficked page on FreshBooks.com. This set of pages led to surpassing FreshBooks’ 2018 trial numbers, just 143 days into 2019. The second campaign was a resource hub where we created 550 articles based on people also ask questions around accounting, entrepreneurship and topics that are relevant to small business owners. SUMMARY With TrueClicks, we’re building the PPC tool we wish we had during our agency years. First, we want to make sure our users never miss an issue or opportunity again in their Google Ads campaigns. We want to do this by going beyond regular analysis and optimization. Not just showing our users what they could do, but revealing what they should do, and in what order. We believe this is a more useful and more ambitious approach to creating software.
