As you know due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns around travel, this year’s UK Search Awards didn’t take place in London the way we had planned. It was not our usual Search Awards party, but we hope you enjoyed the virtual celebrations and coming together online as much as we did, for one different but equally fantastic European Search Awards. Bloom & Wild’s SEO revenue grew by £6,509,179 YoY with an ROI at a staggering 17,981%.

To help streamline online advertising, GT Omega engaged Loud Mouth Media to improve revenue generated across each website whilst reducing CPA and improving ROAs. We adopted a holistic approach across all GT Omega websites, looking at how one platform helps drive revenue through other platforms, which allowed GT Omega to prioritise media spend towards a range of highly targeted strategies that will have a positive impact. With Search Excellence at the heart of our identity, wining this award would mean welcome recognition as an agency at the forefront of driving the best results for its clients. SUMMARY Covid-19 hit the Travel and Leisure industry hard in 2020 - it tore up the rulebook. We had to get creative with our strategy to deliver a return on investment and make sure our client stayed profitable during a colossally challenging time to do business. We have a remote workforce in 18 countries around the world with 6 office locations including the UK, Spain and the US. Our lead product (Teamwork) is a work and project management tool designed to make teams more efficient, organised and happy. Our products are used by over 20,000 companies around the world, including influential names such as Disney, Spotify and Netflix. When we took management of our PPC campaigns in-house in May 2020, we saw an opportunity to revive our Paid Search strategy and rebuild from the ground up. In order to grow we had to move away from reliance on brand, and instead focus on scaling our nonbrand strategy in the costly and competitive SaaS PPC market. We launched with clear targets, new campaigns and a data-driven strategy - and the results speak for themselves. In the first three months we achieved a 365% increase in conversions whilst also reducing the cost per conversion by 66%. As an in-house team who undertook a huge risk to rebuild Teamwork’s entire Search strategy, we would be delighted to see the results of the campaign recognised at the UK Search Awards.

When the museum was forced to close its doors in only the second time since opening in 1881, our PPC restructure allowed us to pivot the strategy seamlessly. At a time where many similar organisations went dark, the Natural History Museum’s visibility across digital helped them to continue to be a source of inspiration and knowledge for people throughout the world.

UKSEARCHAWARDS BEST USE OF SEARCH HEALTH Tug & GenesisCare SUMMARY GenesisCare engaged Tug to manage their PPC account in January 2020 with the goal of driving local enquiries to their 14 UK centres. GenesisCare offers advanced cancer treatment and diagnosis services using innovative technology and world-class doctors. They wanted local patients and doctors to be aware they could get rapid access to a wide range of world-class and innovative treatments. This was especially important during lockdown, as access to routine screening and cancer treatments was either not available or severely restricted. It is widely acknowledged that delays in cancer diagnosis and treatment can have a significant impact on the patient’s outcome, and therefore ensuring people knew that services were still available and how to access them was extremely important. Getting this message out to people who need cancer services via PPC is a challenge. Google’s policy on healthcare keywords prevents retargeting, so ensuring PPC efficiently drives enquiries in a long decision-making process isn’t easy. Tug used PPC to target people researching relevant symptoms or searching for treatments in the local area around each centre. Tug built out a complex account structure for each centre based on the treatments offered and USPs which led to dramatic improvements in enquiries and CPA.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS We thought that this entry nailed the account structure and targeting that they took on board. The work flow is admirable and how they turned things around for the client is amazing. The results and lead growth are huge! This was definitely a stand out entry and worthy winner.

Shuttercraft are one of the UK’s most successful shutter companies; a growing franchise made up of a network of 26 franchisees around the UK, each with a single local territory. MRS Digital started working with Shuttercraft in 2019 – tasked with rebuilding their customer-facing website. In our dealings with the brand we quickly became aware that PPC was a serious barrier to business growth. We jumped at the opportunity and put it to Shuttecraft that we would produce a consolidated PPC solution that would solve these challenges and allow them to grow beyond any current targets.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS In addition to growing the business, this agency helped solve the franchisee competition issue. We really liked the approach to tracking with DLVs and reduction in lead cost, and it was clear from the supporting document the impact the campaign had for the client. Excellent work!

The last five months have not been normal. Childcare, internet issues and heatwaves are just some of the hurdles faced when adapting to working from home. Business as usual was difficult, but to launch a campaign of this magnitude and complexity, both online and offline, with the results that have been generated, is something all members of the MSF digital team and Crafted are extremely proud off. What makes this even more special is to know that the money we have raised will go towards MSF’s the medical team’s ability to act fast and save people’s lives. It’s an incredible honour to have worked on this campaign and the results delivered serve as their own reward, that’s the part that matters. With Q4 (Jan-Mar) being Auto Trader’s biggest quarter of the year, it was imperative to implement a creative campaign to cut through competitors’ marketing. For the partnership’s inaugural digital campaign, we created Eau de New Car – the UK’s first perfume that encapsulates the scent of a brand-new car. This campaign was fully integrated, combining PR, SEO, social and content, CRM, house activity and OOH. It not only smashed our primary SEO objectives, but also raised brand awareness, increased consumer engagement and word of mouth. The campaign was a content strategy and link building exercise tying in social media as part of a wider search campaign – which resulted in media coverage and links (154 links) in over 14 countries (UK, EU, US, AUS), radio and TV features including Fox News USA and The Colbert Show with 1.7million views and drove 85,000 visits to the site all in the space of a few weeks. Influencers in the gaming community talked about the Christmas Tinner reaching 920,000 people. The 1-week turnaround project has now turned into a long-term partnership between newly founded SEO agency Rise at Seven and GAME after getting their gaming chair hub ranking for over 400 keywords just in time for Christmas. It caused the biggest surge in branded search in over a year (51% growth). This campaign featured on Famous Campaigns of 2019 and was one of the first campaigns Rise at Seven ran, being just 5 months old in the industry.
