Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam or Doosan Vina is a $300 million USD industrial complex built on 100 hectares on the coast of Central Vietnam’s Quang Ngai Province. It serves as the company’s forward strategic operations base. The company opened in 2009 and specializes in the manufacture of: - Power plant equipment to light the way - Cargo container cranes that drive global commerce - Desalination plants to quench the thirst of millions - High tech structural steel and modularization for refinery/ industry. Doosan Vina currently provides jobs and regular income for 2,000 employees and 2,000 subcontractors. Our first products were shipped in February of 2009, less than three years after our investment certificate was granted. Today Doosan Vina has completed over 260 projects that are now hard at work in 35 countries around the world. In total the “Made in Vietnam” equipment produced by Doosan Vina weighs in at an impressive 386,000 tons. At Doosan Vina’s Boiler Shop, the power plant boilers they’ve produced are adding 16,845 MW of electricity to the world’s grid. Doosan Vina’s boilers are currently producing electricity in India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. And coming here will be Japan. In Vietnam, our boilers are operating at the Mong Duong 2, Vinh Tan 4, Vinh Tan 4 Expansion, Song Hau I power plants and soon will be at the Nghi Son 2 power plant. These 5 power plants will add 5,400 MW to Vietnam’s grid! At the Material Handling Systems Shop, we have produced a
total of 89 cranes for some of the world’s busiest ports. These massive cranes are the backbone of port logistics and modern trade. They can weigh nearly 1,700 tons with Out-reach up to 70 meters and can safely, efficiently and quickly load and unload the standard cargo containers with ease from the biggest mother vessel. Our crane clients are global leaders and some names you may recognize are PSA in Singapore; JNPT in India; Samarinda of Indonesia and in Vietnam, Saigon New Port, Gemalink Terminal (Cai Mep Port area), the Port of Da Nang and the Port of the Nghi Son Refinery. Over at the Water Shop, Doosan Vina proudly includes the UAE, Chile and Saudi Arabia as desalination customers. The desalination plants produced at Doosan Vina are now producing nearly a billion liters of water per day and satisfying the daily needs of 2.5 million people. Each of the nine desalination plants produced by the Water shop is the size of a football pitch, weighs 4,500 tons, is as tall as a 3-storey building and can produce 92 million liters of potable water per day. There are over 30,000 ocean going cargo vessels sailing the seven seas. This endless stream of ships transports the goods we consume each day. The US alone ships 1.2 billion metric tons of cargo annually and all that cargo has to be quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded or the supply chain will fail and the economy will come to a standstill. With out-reach up to 70 meters, our giant crane can load and unload the 65-ton cargo containers with ease from the biggest mother vessel safely, efficiently and quickly. These are considered the effective arms for cargo clearance at the international seaports and promote the trade all over the world.

Water everywhere but not a drop to drink! Why would anyone on a planet that is nearly 75% covered by water ever say that? The answer of course is because most of that water is salty seawater and undrinkable. Today because of our ever increasing urbanization and growing demand for fresh water a solution to meet demand had to be found and the engineers and technicians at Doosan have designed and built one of the world’s most technologically advanced pieces of equipment that turns that salty ocean water into fresh potable water for our thirsty planet. One of Doosan’s desalination plants stands over three stories tall, has a footprint nearly the size of a football pitch (12m high, 33m wide, 138m long) and weighs over 4,500 tons. One of these massive units can produce 92 million liters of fresh water per day and when placed in tandems; like the eight Doosan made for Raz Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, over two million people now have enough water for their daily needs.

Modularization Accelerate Schedule and Minimize Risks
Most industrial plants need a solution to control costs and eliminate risks by modularization. Currently, most of countries tend to build factories rapidly therefore modularization becomes an optimum to success in today market. Instead of being built at the site, key components are fabricated in a controlled shop environment, it is possible to accelerate schedule, minimize risk, improve quality and control uncertain field construction costs. With good capability, well-arranged infrastructure and equipment, Doosan Vina is ready to supply you any required size and weight modules. In June 2018, Doosan Vina signed a long frame agreement with Samsung Engineering Company Limited related to module supply. And we completed twelve modules which weigh 1,746 tons for the Waste Heat Recovery Project just in 6 months and are manufacturing 27 modules for the Crude Flexibility Project - Main product: Pre-Assembled Rack Module - Capacity: 20,000 tons per year.

Since Doosan Vina broke ground and began construction in 2007 the company has carried out an extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. To date, Doosan Vina has contributed over $6.7 million to fund its CSR activities that focus on healthcare, education and shelter. Some of the programs are the annual medical services for thousands of local people and active scholarship programs for university students across country. Additionally Doosan Vina has mobilized to repair roads and bridges; donated over $150,000 in medical equipment to local hospitals, renovated schools, houses for the needy and much, much more. One mega CSR project involved the donation of a near $1 million desalination plant and generators for Vietnam’s Ly Son Island. These and our other CSR activities have earned the company several national and international awards for its commitment to being a good neighbor and helping those in need.
