Observation-Comments On the occasion of the cooperative tale we wrote about Dino, the snail that saved the forest with his friends the animals, we talked about the forest. We watched videos on the Internet and comment on them. Visit to the Municipal Garden of Rethymno, because it was not possible to visit the forest. Discussion about what we saw there

2 Summarising everything we have seen. Reaching conclusions

C. Planning and development. Photographs from our visit to the woods

Once we reached the forest, we split into two groups and delimited the space we were going to study. We measured the length and width. The children saw, heard, caught, smelled everything that existed there. With the help of the magnifying glass they noticed small plants, animals of the soil. They saw different species of plants, mushrooms, insects, bird nests. They responded to questions asked by themselves, such as: "Forest means only trees?", "Who are the inhabitants of the forest?", "How many vegetation floors do we observe?", "What would be the land without forests?", "What are the plants eating?". They discovered organisms that live in the branches and leaves of the trees. They found traces of animals (ants, mice) living below the ground. They wondered why some of the fallen leaves have rotted and what they are transformed. They understood that all animals are useful in order not to disturb the balance in nature.

Language: The children searched the dictionary and found: The forest is not just trees. It is a set of different plants, where trees and animals are dominant, and these organisms interact with the soil and the climate prevailing in the area. All the areas covered by natural vegetation are called forest, regardless of whether the trees dominate , shrubs or phrygana and are a complex set with its own life and functions. They are the forest ecosystem that plays an important role in biological balance in nature. Mathematics: In the forest we measured the length and width of the area we studied. In class we found the area in square meters. Then we turned it into square centimeters and ten-meters. Art Exhibitions: We made the project titled "A Common Day in the Forest", with the help Mrs Stella Daikou-Pantinaki, a pupil's mom.

D. Evaluation Procedure Final analysis and explanation of the results The consolidation of what we discussed, discovered and learned, as well as making conclusions, was made through the fairy tale: "The forest that speaks." We read it and filled in the missing words. https://repository.edulll.gr/edulll/retrieve/3958/1194.pdf
