From the Editor..
Here we are inFebruary,
The magazine is going so well. There are many
things that will be happening in the next few issues. We will also be doing a selfie pin board and also a few competitions to win some feminarum t shirts. Our main competition will be in the summer when readers can send in pictures of family and friends who they would like to see on our special summer front cover. The winner will be photographed and have their story told in the main article of the magazine. We always want to hear from people if they have stories and welcome new writers all the time. We have been approached by people who want to advertise so that will be something that will be expanded on this year. As always, I will keep everyone posted on the progress of the calendar and much more on our Facebook page. Once the website is up then we will post other news on there as well.
From myself and the team, we hope you had a lovely Valentines day.... Helen...

Looking towards the future of the magazine. "So many plans and things that we want to do, that the sky is the limit for us...."
We are moving forward in so many ways and in some respects it's faster then anyone could ever imagine. There is no doubt that we have found our stride and now it comes down to really focusing on getting a wider readership.
As for myself, I have been busy contacting many women's groups and also women's magazines to try and work with them in celebrating and creating something that supports a positive image of women.
Many people have come to the conclusion that all women want to read about is, make-up, hair and men. Thankfully all my team and all the wonderful readers who support us, have proved this stereotype is archaic.
This stereotypical image is very harmful to the younger generation and I am really proud that my girls read this magazine and love it.

"Tell us what you want and we will put in our magazine. We will always welcome readers input and also their views on any topic in the magazine." Sexist or not our "Gallery of Guys" has become very popular.... Photo by Al Birmingham.
We want to break this mould and show that women want to know about the newest technology, and we defiantly need something to look at on a Monday morning at work.
People might say that having a Gallery of Guys is sexist but it makes a change from seeing half naked women in the mens magazines.
Or the ancient and outdated idea of Page 3. This is the 21st Century and women are shouting out loud exactly what they want from life.
We a t F E M I N A R U M a r e hearing you loud and clear. Our motto has always been
"For women by women"
It's on the front of every cover and it's to remind the readers and also myself, what is at the core of the mission to create this magazine. So going forward, we will be running completions and also getting people to do book reviews for us each month. Your input as the reader is important to everyone who works for the magazine.
There is no magazine at the moment that asks it's readers what they want to see in f u t u re i s s u e s . We a t FEMINARUM hope that this will change in the future...
As for our calendar, it is really coming along and we will be looking to get this done in the summer. I will keep everyone posted on FB as it develops.
Our March issue will be dedicated to International Women's day. And Birds Eye View will be featured in this issue as well. They have given us some information on the events they will be running next month.
In the meantime we all hope you keep on enjoying this magazine....
From Helen and all the team.

Sarah Pearce Tips on false eyelashes... Everything You Need to Know About False Eyelashes
look or for a dramatic photo shoot, opt for a pair of lashes enhanced with glitter, feathers or colour – a must have if you want to stand out from the crowd !
False eyelashes are a very trendy and flirty accessory that every woman should have. I apply false lashes now to most of my brides and nearly always for a prom, evening make-over or photo shoot. I think they ‘finish off’ any make-up look.
How to apply your false lashes:
The tricky part is deciding which ones you should go for, and, most importantly, how do you put them on? Here I tell you everything you need to know about wearing and applying your strip eyelashes. Which false lashes should you go for?
1. Start by using an eyelash curler to curl your natural eyelashes. This helps your own lashes blend in with the false ones. 2. Use a pair of tweezers to carefully remove the false eyelashes from the box, then trim them to the desired length. Be gentle with your lashes, you don’t want to ruin them before even applying them. If you’re not sure how long the lashes should be on the lash band, they should only extend beyond the outside of your eye by about two or three lashes.
There are many types of false eyelashes available now, and some are more noticeable than others. To begin with, you need to determine the effect that you’re going for: discreet, glamorous, or original. If you want a more natural look, opt for a pair of eyelashes that are not too long, and which follow the natural curve of your own lashes. I also like to use a half set of lashes for a natural look, that give a slightly winged effect, but still subtle enough for a bridal makeover.
3. Carefully apply the glue to the lash strip. Make sure the lash band is covered but not so that the glue is dripping off. Leave for 60 seconds before applying to make sure the glue has become ‘tacky’.
If you want a more sophisticated and defined look, then choose longer eyelashes that are thick and bevelled or winged (especially for a vintage look – think Audrey Hepburn). These lashes are also ideal for a smokey eye makeup or if you want to make your eyes look larger and more defined. Lastly, for an original
5. With the help of a dark eye shadow or eye pencil and a slanted eyeliner brush, carefully draw a line along the root of your eyelashes to cover up where your false lashes have been applied.
4. Using your tweezers, stick the false eyelashes as close to your natural eyelash line as you can get, starting in the middle of your eye. Then lay the strip on the inner half of your upper lash line and then the outer half.

Fitness page...
Becoming a Bikini and Fitness Model This month I thought I would introduce you to Sam (right) aged 24 and Kasia (left) age 29 from Basingstoke, Hampshire who I have been training for their very first Bikini and Fitness Model Competition “ T h e M i a m i P ro Wo r l d Championships” on the 6th April this year in St Albans, H e r t s . We h a v e b e e n working hard since November when both girls began their introduction to training with weights. This is a very different type of training to that which either of the girls had done before and was quite daunting to them to begin with. Sam will be competing in the Fitness Model Category of the competition and Kasia the Bikini Category. The Differences between the 2 categories are : Fitness Models:female competitors that are l e a n a n d fi t w i t h fi r m muscle tone. This is a model search and athletes are to have an attractive healthy look that is marketable in the Fitness industry. Body fat is to be

minimal and Abs are to be seen but without being too lean or having too much muscle separation. There is not a set look in this class but more of what suits the competitor’s shape and what is pleasing to the eye. Athletes will be judged on their appearance and physique. (Info taken from Miami Pro Website http:// www.miamiproevents.co.uk /index.php) Bikini Models:The Ms. Bikini category is for competitors who are toned with some muscle development to the upper and lower body. Their physique should be lean with minimal body fat, but should not display significant muscle size, separation or striation. Abdominal definition is expected but a ripped "six pack" is not to be visible. This category is perfect for those who are:
* Not as lean & toned as the Fitness Model category. * Do not have as much muscle definition as the Figure category. Models in Ms. Bikini must be in shape, toned and have an attractive look and physique that is marketable in the Fitness industry. (Info taken from Miami Pro Website http:// www.miamiproevents.co.uk /index.php) A typical training week for both of the girls at the moment is over 5/6 days and now at 8 week out from competing they are completing a split routine consisting of:Monday: Legs (1 Hour)Tuesday: Cardio & Abs (1 Hour) Weds: we start at 6.30am in the gym with Chest and Triceps (1 hour) Thursday: Back and Triceps (1 hour) Friday: Shoulders and Abs (1 hour)
Weekends Saturday: Rest Sunday: Circuit Training Session Training for Sam will be using heavier weight than Kasia and less repetitions of exercises to encourage Hypertrophy (muscle growth) where as Kasia will be working at high Intensity and high volume. As well as a grueling training schedule the girls are going to have to endure a strict diet regime which can prove both mentally and physically demanding. This is an example of their current daily diet plan.
rice, Pizza, alcohol, ice cream. All the things the majority of us take for granted as a treat at the weekend has had to be gone without. This is very hard for most people and takes total dedication and commitment and as a competitive fitness model myself who will be competing at the same event I know how hard this is. I am so proud of how these girls have done over the last 3 months I had to write about them. It hasn’t mattered how hard its been raining, how cold It’s been or how much their bodies are hurting they have turned up to the gym and trained their hearts out.
Daily Menu Plan Breakfast : 1 average bowl (60g) porridge oats. 2 tbsp (80g) low fat yoghurt. 200ml Skimmed Milk. water 250ml
I hope you will join me in wishing these 2 girls all the best in their competition and I look forward to sharing the results with you in April.

Lady Perez Meditation & Mindfulness Nowadays, everyone is so concerned about their physical health that they have made it a priority to look after it, and rightly so! Being a dancer, my physical health is of the utmost importance to me. I am also a firm believer that your health is your wealth in life. Without a healthy body, you have nothing. We regularly asses how we look, what foods make up our diet, and what skincare products are best for keeping us looking young, healthy and glowing. But what about our mental health? It seems that today we have become so preoccupied with our physical health and appearance that we have forgotten about our mental health. We have neglected it, almost. It's been over a year now since I was introduced to meditation by one of my close friends and I have to admit that it's become an everyday essential in my life. I feel the need to stress that it is just as important to take care of your mind as it is to take care of your body. There are a lot of issues that we are faced with in life that people seem to "Nowadays, everyone
is so concerned about their physical health that they have made it a priority to look after it, and rightly so".,. 10 FEMINARUM
refuse to deal with or push down inside rather than facing them head on. And I can assure you that does not make for a healthy, let alone happy, mind.
When our mind is not at peace, eventually, whether we like it or not, this physically comes to the surface. Usually, at least in my case, with illness. Whatever is going on inside tends to reflect itself on the outside. I have witnessed people suffer from depression in my life and to this, I wholly recommend meditation as the antidote. People who meditate and practice mindfulness regularly are much less likely to have a relapse than people who don't. I also find that I feel fully equipped and able to h a n d l e anything life throws at me now that I have obtained the skill of meditation. So what is the difference b e t w e e n meditation a n d mindfulness you ask? Many people have the wrong perception of meditation. They believe it is sitting down to clear or get rid of thoughts from your mind. Although you may experience a very clear, calm, peaceful mind as a result of meditation, that is not exactly the aim of the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to be able to separate yourself from your thoughts and to sit back and watch them go by with a sense of curiosity. By doing this you may find yourself looking at your thoughts and feelings with a much clearer view. Meditation is the practice that sets you up to become more mindful in life. Mindfulness simply means to live in the moment and experience life to the full in the present.
Have you ever slowed down and looked around the street you walk down every day to get to work? You may be surprised at the things you notice that you hadn't before. Have you ever noticed the feeling of the wind against your face as you waited for your bus? Have you ever noticed the scent of the ocean while you sat on the beach? Making full use of our senses contributes greatly to our ability to live in the present moment. Meditation a n d mindfulness is something that I cannot recommend enough. It gives you a much more abundant and fulfilled sense of life. I would h i g h l y s u g g e s t checking out A n d y Puddicombe's book, 'Get S o m e Headspace' and also downloading the Headspace app for your phone. These are two things that I use regularly. Meditation does not have to involve the stereo typical religion, incense, and sitting cross legged on the floor. In this book, Puddicombe explains how to integrate meditation and mindfulness into your everyday life, easily and effectively. It can take only ten minutes a day if you really wanted to. Although don't be surprised if, like me, you feel yourself wanting to further your practice after completing the book.

Simon Oliver Learning about the products you use.. As i have been talking to my clients this last month I have noticed that the majority of you ladies don’t seem to be using many products in your hair, and if you are you have no idea what your using! I do personally find this a bit shocking as I make sure i know exactly what a product will do before i put it in my hair and what it will do. When you start to get confident with products you can learn how else to use them other than what they say on the tin as there are usually other ways to use it and get a different look or create a different shape. There are a few products which will do anything and everything, they tend to be more paste like, and the runner the more pliable they are. HOWEVER be careful make sure you read the description!

When you go into a hairdressers, really get your hairdresser to tell you what your using and why they are using it as if they a r e c o n fi d e n t i n t h e product then so will you be! There is nothing worse than using something that not even the hairdresser knows what it does, making it become a force of habit. Even when buying something from the supermarket make sure you read exactly what it does, just because its to make hair thick doesn’t mean its right for your hair type and so on. Its a small thing to do, but it makes a world of difference to your hair.

Sharon Ayling Love your skin... This month I would like to draw your attention to skin care and product. As this is month celebrates valentine I thought I would unite the two occasions together!
Love the skin your IN …….How are you treating yours?
Now that we are in the winter season. When was the last time you updated your skincare regime? With the increased of central heating and the blustery, gale force winds, dehydrated, dryness are often highlighted as a major skincare concern. This month we focus the attention on caring for your skin and getting the very best out of your daily skin care treatment. Revisiting skincare routine enable you to achieve the best out of your products and address any skincare concerns. What to avoid
• When caring for your skin always look for products that are acid balanced, this is between a pH 4-6 as this respects the skins acid mantel. The “acid mantel” is the skin protective layer that is broken when harsh products and soap are used, leaving the skin prone to sensitivity. • Avoid S.D alcohol, this ingredient strips and dries the skin promoting further dehydration and flakiness. • Over fragranced products as this can cause irritation for some individual skins.
18 FEMINARUM
What to do
• This is the perfect time to re visit and kick start your skincare treatment! Using the Dermalogica face mapping technique, you are safe in the knowledge that your skincare treatment will leave your skin feeling and looking refreshed, resuscitated, hydrated and prepared for the challenge of winter weather! Professional skin treatments can be introduced every 4-6 weeks. • Ensure that the skin is cleansed hydrated and moisturised twice a day to ensure that optimum healthy skin is rekindled. • Boosters are a fabulous products as they are designed to power infuse the skin as they are highly-active extracts that can be used to customise your regime on a daily basis. The boosters from Dermalogica are designed to either use alone or under moisturiser. Concentrated boosters are a great way to take control of the skin’s natural fluctuations. Top favourite product is skin hydrating booster from the Dermalogica range, one of its’ key benefits is to hydrate skin, improve suppleness and minimise the appearance of fine lines.
make that kick start regime possible. I shall be holding micro zone treatments at Female Focus Skincare Studio the last Saturday of every month. If you would like to book in for a update treatment please contact me on 0779088654 or email me on sharon.ayling00@googlemail.com …..Feeling the love this valentine <3 xx

Valentines day. The story behind the tradition... We look into the possible theories of the origins of St Valentine.. We are all familiar with the 14th of February being Valentines day in which, people exchange gifts and cards. But what is e story behind this? The most popular theory is associated with a St Valentines who during the Roman period was imprisoned for performing illegal marriages for soldiers. He was also found to be ministering to Christians during the Roman Rule also. (Roman soldiers were forbidden to marry as the Roman Army thought that they would not fight as they had lived ones at home.) This Saint was persecuted by Emperor Claudius II. The Emperor tried to convert the saint to paganism but failed and also the saint tried to convert the Emperor to Christianity but he failed. He finds himself incarcerated and before being executed , he is said to have healed the Jailers daughter, Julia, the blind daughter of Asterius. The jailer, his daughter and his household all converted. There are stories of him writing notes to the daughter signed "From your Dear Valentine" but there is not actual evidence to support this. Whitefriars Street Church has three churches who claim to have the remains of is saint within their walls. People today still make pilgrimages to these sites. There is a St Valentine buried at the Via Flaminia and the date is the 14th of February. There only problem for historians is that there have been many early Christians martyrs with that name. So it's diďŹƒcult to pin it to one
particular one. Recently some theories have put forward a claim that the event might relate to Lupercalia which in Ancient Rome was observed February 13 - 15. During this period men and women would randomly pull names out of a jar and couple up. The next mention of this celebration comes from Chaucer and it's mentioned in his poems from the 14th century. "For this was sent on Volantynys Day, what every bryd co myth there to chose his mate." It was written to honour the anniversary of the engagement of Richard II of England to Anne of Bohemia. In 1797 a British publisher issued the "Young mans Valentine Writer.". It gave hints and tips to help would be Romeos to write to their sweethearts. During the mid 19th century, the Valentines card sad now being made on mass in factories. posh ones were decorated with ribbons and lace. Every year 1.3 million pounds is spent on cards, gifts and flowers. (Valentines day worth 1.3million to Uk retailers. British retail consortium). In the US it is thought that approximately 190 million valentines cards are sent each year. (Americas Valentines day. US greeting card association, 2010) So get writing and send o your cards and great the one you love this Valentines Day... Written by Helen Wright. (Founder and Editor.)

I'm fairly new to modelling but I'm loving every minute of it so far. I'm currently represented by Spirit Models and Dark Arts agencies and have had some fun jobs come out of it so far!
Ive been a featured model a t L o n d o n Ta t t o o Convention, appeared in the music video for the song "What I Might Do" by Ben Pearce which was great and I've got a lot of exposure from it and got to shoot with some amazing photographers! The only thing I really don't like is when people are negative about me and the way that I look.
It has it's highs and lows...
28 FEMINARUM
My look is very dierent and I do get some funny looks sometimes but I hope I bring some happiness to the people of London seeing this bright head bouncing around the streets and tube stations! I aspire to be on the same level as some of the girls I've grown to find are amazingly beautiful not only outside but inside and girls I'm happy to call friends: Lusy Logan, Jade Allison, Terry De Lis Altilar to name a few!
We asked Lesley to be in Our magazine because we think she is a great role model for young women. She enjoys the world of modelling and understands it's trial and tribulations. Both of the images were taken by Emma Shamaya who Lesley has worked with in the past. The images were done especially for our Valentines issue of the magazine.
Lesley admits that she's not very good at writing about herself but if you want to see more updates you can follow her in twitter @misslesleyrose or / lesleyrosemodel on Facebook. Big love to all! Written by Lesley Rose.

The I- pad mini..
I looked at the I -pad mini versus the retina display version.. It's official... I can't live without my Ipad. For me it's great to catch up in FB, answer e m a i l s , d o w n l o a d games and search for recipes for my children to cook. But recently I was looking at the new retina display version that Apple have released. I was wondering what all the fuss is about and so I went I to Solutions inc in Chichester and spoke to a member of their staff. Rosie very kindly printed off some stats for me which explains the changes and improvements to the I pad mini. For me the first thing is that it still looks the same. This smaller size is great for putting into your handbag. I found that the 10" was far too big for my bag. (I tend to have a lot of
30• FEMINARUM
crap in my bag so space is an issue.) As I had a play with the retina display I- pad, it became clear that the 2048 -by -1536 resolution made a difference. I did not see it straight away but as I pinched into a picture, the clarity quality was obvious. My original Ipad is only 1024- by -768 resolution. The retina also has the new A7 chip which is the same one you find in the new Iphone and I pad air. The old I-pad has the A5 chip in it. The apps on the retina display were very fast at loading and I was impressed with the quality. The prices for the retina display are 16g £316, 32g £399, 64g £479 The original I-pad is retailing at £249.
"My I-pad comes everywhere with me and sad to say, I would lost without it.."
Photos by Double 8
However, the I-pad comes with a high price tag and there are other tablets like the Hudl and the Google Tablets that are well worthy the money. I had a Nexus 7 and although it was a great device,it was not right for me. This is the point when it comes to choosing a tablet. You really need to think about what you are going to use it for. The Kindle devices are great if you want to read books and download comics. The I-pad has a Kindle app that you can download which gives you all these functions and more. For me the real winner for the I-pad mini is the apps. There are so many and the Apple store has an app for just about everything. I design and organise this magazine using my I-pad as I can have an executive meeting in Brighton and I don't have to carry about a heavy laptop. I think that tablets will be the driving force behind the need to access information anywhere any time. My parents have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and they now enjoy being able to surf the internet without opening up a computer.
They only email once or twice a day and they don't do anything complicated on their tablets. It's simply for emails and web browsing. We suggested that this would be better for them use. The range of tablets on the market is huge and the prices vary. I don't subscribe to the madness of "Apple." But even I have to admit that after having my I-pad for some time, that I won't use anything else. The easiness of the apps on the pad as a whole is great. The only disadvantage is you can't upgrade the gigabyte and also you can't just create an app and put into the Apple store. You have to register as a developer and go through the Apple system. So it is a walled garden in that respect but apart from that, I won't be parting with my I-pad mini any time soon.. Article written by Helen Wright.

Poppy Hooton. We chatted with Poppy about her life and what inspires her... My name is Poppy Hooton, I’m 20 years old and I’ve been doing promotional modelling for a few years now. I also compete in bikini and bodybuilding competitions, recently winning the title of Miss Beach Body. I train in the gym about 5 days a week, I love seeing the improvements and changes in my body, and I enjoy pushing myself to lift heavier and look better. At the current time I’m following a split routine for my resistance training. I’ve identified some weaker body parts and so my focus is to improve on these for both aesthetic and functional reasons. I’m particularly strong in my legs and although I love training them my emphasis must now be for my upper body to catch up. The question I’m asked most frequently is what I eat. I tend to eat a lot of clean carbs in my diet for example sweet potato. My body doesn’t cope with rice or pasta particularly well so I avoid those. My protein sources include chicken, fish and eggs; I don’t eat any red meat. I enjoy a good range of salads, fruit and vegetables and usually cook everything from scratch. I have lactose intolerance so there are lots of things I can’t have which means I have to also work my diet around that. Because of my lactose intolerance I tend to get my protein from
32• FEMINARUM
food rather than supplements as my body doesn’t tolerate whey. I keep my diet pretty clean all year round but I will allow myself little snacks off-season and I still enjoy going out for a few glasses of wine which I see as my ‘cheat meal’ as unhealthy food really doesn’t appeal to me! The motto I follow is to eat clean and train dirty! Alongside my modelling work I also study Psychology at university. Sometimes it’s hard to find a balance between my studies, m o d e l l i n g , p ro m o t i o n a l e v e n t s a n d competing both in bikini competitions and in cheerleading. But as Einstein said ‘Like is like riding a bicycle, to keep the balance you must keep moving.’ This is a quote I follow; to balance all my interests, I just keep doing everything and fit it all in to keep myself both motivated and stimulated. I’ve always been interested in health and fitness as I believe it plays a massive role in life. At school I always found it hard to fit in, so my mum, who is a personal trainer, introduced me to the gym and I found it became a great distraction. I threw myself in and discovered my love of training. I started modelling a few years ago and since then I have worked at many big events such as Body Power and Goodwood Festival of Speed. I have been in many magazines and newspapers for my modelling and competing, such as The Sun, Ultrafit magazine, Bella magazine and Real People magazine. I have an incredibly supportive family and network of friends, which makes a big difference in my life. The hardest part of my profession is the amount of negative criticism I receive. I think a lot of people are insecure in themselves and lash out at me because they are unhappy with how they look. This alongside people’s stereotypical views on modelling and bodybuilding makes me a prime target. My view is that if you care about what other people think
then you will always be their prisoner. I’m confident in myself and just try to be the best I can be. I don’t let anybody else’s negativity bring me down. My favourite part of my profession is all the doors of opportunity I have opened. In June 2013 I was given the title of Miss Golden Rivet, from this I have released my own 2014 calendar in military pin-up style. I have had the chance to work at many big events where I have met some amazing people and I strive to look for new chances every day for new promotional jobs and more varied photo shoots. Being such a bubbly and confident person I’m open to try anything. I’m always looking for new opportunities, for example at the moment I’m deciding which bikini and bodybuilding competition to enter next. I like to have something to work towards which will keep me motivated. I have a public page on Facebook which can be found by going to www.facebook.com/misspoppyhooton. I’m always willing to give advice and answer any questions people have about my profession so if you’d like a chat get in touch! I’m always looking to expand my portfolio so for any work enquiries please contact me through this page. My final quote is ‘Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.’ I say this to myself every day. If you believe in yourself, great things will come to you.

Izzi's kitchen Soft Toffee Recipe This is a wonderful thing to cook and give to someone for Valentines Day... Ingredients:
Oil for greasing 300 ml milk 350 g caster sugar 100 g unsalted butter
Instructions:
The basic toffee recipe involves heating the mixture to either the ‘soft crack’ stage (a temperature of 132-143C/270-290F) or ‘hard crack’ stage (a temperature of 149-154C/300-310F), depending on whether you want to make soft or hard toffee. When melting the sugar and butter, use a deep-sided pan because the mixture can more than double in volume during preparation. Spread the toffee mixture onto a silicone baking sheet – these can be easily peeled from the cooled, hardened toffee. If you want toffees of uniform shape, score the slab of toffee while it’s cooling to make it easier to break apart when hardened. Otherwise, break the toffee with a toffee hammer once it’s cooled.

Ravens diary
To start my diary I want to say a huge thanks to those who are reading, engaging and commenting on the diary so far, and thanks for following my escapades!! So now, what have I been up to? Well my Selfies project has started and why I decided to shoot one of myself at 2am I will never know, but the urge came over me, so I went with it I have also been invited to shoot in the beautiful land that is Wales and am currently furiously planning shoots both in front and behind the camera and its really exciting but scary going so far on my own to go and stay with people I met on Facebook, but they are nice enough to put me up so how could I refuse (Just a warning: I don’t endorse people staying with strangers, I have the advantage that these people have working references from other models confirming that they are safe, so please do not copy me if you are not in the industry with no access to references such as these) I also got to shoot a brand new Model called Kristina, I have met Kristina once or twice before and she was really interested in what I do and asked whether I would shoot her some pics, I was happy to oblige as she does a beautiful manicure and doesn’t charge me a penny, so of course I was willing to share my skill with her. She did a marvellous job and was a complete natural and I really hope she keeps modelling. I will be shooting more models on my wales trip and in London taking my good friend Ray with me to assist and make me giggle once I’m back. So I will keep you updated with that. But for now I will keep travelling and shooting as usual as a Model, as a girl needs the cash to buy even more pretty things and kit my little monster out in summer gear ready for the nice weather (thinking very much ahead on that one). I will be taking my camera to see the sights in Wales so hopefully I can share some fabulous landscapes with you from my travels across the country. Thanks for following!!

The girls at Buzby and Blues hairSalon in Chichester. Simon who writes for the magazine, asked me if I would come in and take some images of the wonderful hair creations that the students had done. This was part of the course that they were studying and the students wanted some pictures that would show o their work. I was only too happy to help and so I went to the salon and spent a wonderful afternoon with some great girls and wonderful hairstyle. They explained to me what they were doing.... " Basically the session we just did was part of our NVQ level 3 qualification, the final part of the qualification is either a photo shoot or a catwalk show. We chose to do a photo shoot because the hair really needs to be so much more perfect for that with no faults or flaws at all! I'm salon manager and qualified but have decided to go down the teaching route so even going back to studying has been nerve wracking for me-something I haven't done for 15years!
After having just returned from watching the Great Gatsby it seemed like a perfect time to chose a vintage theme. 36 • FEMINARUM
We decided to call this "beyond retro!"
We spent weeks researching, making mood boards and literally pulling our hair out with the pressure! On the day myself,Charley Walsh,Rosie Omara created our styles and dressed and did our models make up-luckily both Simons EXTENSIVE make up collection and my skills as a qualified make up artist came in handy!
Louisa Dumbrel was also there on the day to assess us and hopefully pass us o for our photo shoot
I helped the girls with the photo shoot and it was so much fun. The hairstyles were great and the models were a real pleasure to work with. The people in the salon made me feel really at home and It seemed like a very friendly and professional place to work. Simon Oliver (who writes for us) was really appreciative as well as the girls who I met that afternoon.
Shes also been there throughout to support us,calm and occasionally oer the odd chocolate biscuit and hugs when we were near breaking point! Haa! We are all nearing the end of this part of our qualification, which will open many more doors for our hairdressing careers. Helen we and especially myself am so grateful for your help with this,I've found it one of the hardest testing things I've done and you really helped to put both me and the models at ease with your relaxed nature and great photography skills! Feel privileged to have worked with you đ&#x;˜Š The magazine is fab and really looking forwards to being a future die hard feminarum readers!"

That's what I want from a book that I read. The next book will be out on the 30th of this month, so you still have time to read this one before then."
