Why Solar? Solar panels are a clean source of energy generated right on the roof of your home. During the sunny summer months, your panels typically generate the most energy. First your home’s needs are met, and any excess energy generated over and above what is needed is sent back to the grid through a bi-directional meter and added as a credit to your account. During the cloudy winter months when the panels generate less energy, your home will typically draw from the credit balance in your account, providing lower electricity bills year around.
Depending on the size of your solar array and your energy needs, your solar system could generate as much energy as your home needs over the course of a year. This means your electricity bills could be very low, and possibly only the minimum connection fee. As the credit per kilowatt received is the same value as the cost per kilowatt you pay for electricity, the kilowatts you generate and use you are protected from future electricity price increases.
