house was energy efficient but not that much! At the time of construction, we decided to insulate the basement floor instead of me getting a cold storage cellar. We have a very efficient furnace with an ERV unit. It wasn't that cold in December, but even with all the kids home for 2-3 weeks over Christmas, our gas bill was just under $40! Love it.
October has come quickly, time to get use to the sweater weather! As well as all the good things that come with the Fall weather. We hope you enjoy this month's newsletter filled with information! At home or on your phone, go to www.dougtarryhomes.com
Shout out to Doug Tarry Homes for being a leader in the new home industry for wonderful construction and environmental consciousness.”

300 Manor
We've been selected in a highly competitive program through the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation for funding. We address affordability, energy efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability as part of our design.
We work closely with CMHC to address affordable rentals in our community by providing designated units at a reduced rate subject to CMHC's requirements. Our building is 31% more efficient than the 2015 national energy code of Canada. We plan to exceed this by integrating a PV system and EV charging stations as part of the project in the future. The project offers adaptable/ universal design units to address accessibility.
300 Manor is designed to highlight a more sustainable way to build and features what DTL consider to be the four principals of modern design: life cycle, carbon reduction, indoor air quality and climate resilient construction and occupant comfort.

”Jac wanted to bring the idea of “Many Faces” to showcase an intricate expression of the area. She believes St. Thomas to be a multifaceted town that caters to small business, community, arts and culture. This is a town that has many faces, both literally and metaphorically. St. Thomas is diverse in many aspects as well as inclusive to all members of the community. When she thinks of this town she thinks of the “Many Faces” that intricately come together to make it a supportive and charming place to live.”

1 medium onion, thinly sliced 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth 1 cup water 1 cooked chicken breasts, shredded ¾ pound baby bok choy, quartered lengthwise 3 (3 ounce) packages dried ramen noodles 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 4 eggs 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced, or to taste 2 green onions, chopped, or to taste ¼ cup chopped cilantro, or to taste Directions Step 1 Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Add ramen noodles and return to a boil. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender yet firm to the bite, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and drizzle with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Step 2 While ramen is cooking, fill a pot with enough water to cover the eggs and bring to a boil. Gently lower eggs into the boiling water and cook until yolks are barely set, about 7 minutes. Step 3 Fill a large bowl with ice water. Transfer soft boiled eggs to the ice bath to stop the cooking process; let sit about 3 minutes. Drain eggs, carefully peel away shells, and slice in half. Step 4 Divide ramen between 4 bowls. Add broth. Top each with jalapeno, green onions, cilantro, and soft boiled egg. Serve immediately. 7
