Thank you for your interest in the 2022 Premiere Napa Valley Auction. By coordinating our efforts to buy multiple lots and cases in a single purchase, we gain access to Napa’s best wines that are nearly impossible to find on the open market. Once a year, over 150 Napa Valley Vintners gather for the Premiere Napa Valley Auction to show off their best wines. This charitable fundraiser offers select members of the restaurant and retail trade the opportunity to taste barrel samples and bid on wines created solely for this event. These wines are a "one-off," a blend, varietal, appellation, vineyard(s) or barrel designation unique to the winery and are sometimes rare collaborations among two or more winemakers. Each lot will only be awarded to one winning bidder. This year's exclusive Premiere Napa Valley wines will be available as 5-case, 10-case or 20-case lots to be released at the discretion of the vintner. Each bottle is specially hand labeled, individually numbered and bottled. Nowhere else can anyone obtain such rare wines from Napa Valley’s best winemakers. Auction Date: February 26th, 2022

Collectable, Creative and Incomparable Premiere Napa Valley wines tell the stories of the soils, microclimates and remarkable personalities which make up the mosaic of Napa Valley. They represent the quality and innovation for which America's leading wine region has become known and are among the world's rarest wines. This year, Premiere Napa Valley wines are being sold in partnership with Sotheby’s. We are excited to welcome you both in person and virtually through a new hybrid platform which will give the restaurant and retail trade from around the world access to these unique wines, foster relationships with our winemakers and provide education about Napa Valley.
The Very Best of Napa Valley Though reminiscent of how Hospices de Beaune wines are produced, the process is uniquely American. The winemakers take a gloves-off approach, often using varieties they may not bottle as a stand-alone, or perhaps a noted white-wine-only house producing a red wine. These wines showcase Napa Valley's sense of exploration in fine winemaking.

Proceeds benefit the Napa Valley Vintners' Association, a non-profit organization which promotes and protects the prized Napa Valley appellation as a winegrowing region. The plan for this year’s auction is to attempt to purchase from six (6) to twelve (12) of the offered lots. Our projected price range per bottle cost is ($150 per bottle) to ($350 per bottle), although we sometimes go above this bandwidth for a wine of particular interest. Our focus being to win multiple lots so each of our participants will ideally end up with partial to full cases of many wines instead of multiple cases of 1 or 2 wines. If you would like to participate with The Wine Exchange in this purchase, the minimum participation level is $5,000, which you can increase in $5,000 increments. Actual allocations will be based on your participation level and the final lot total costs divided by the total Wine Exchange participants.

*Results: Shortly after the auction is complete, you will receive an email explaining our final lot winnings and a list including your equity portion of each Lot. **Wine Shipments: Each Lot is released by the Vintner(s) and it could take 6 to 24 months to receive your wine. The release timeline process is by design. This way each wine has been properly aged in barrel and is shipped during the time of year when temperature will not have any negative impact on our newly acquired world class wines.
