Beginning with the first $1 commemorative, the Year of Peace 1986 $1, the RAM’s $1 series has played a key role in celebrating key events and institutions in Australia. The 1988 Bicentennial $1, 1996 Henry Parkes $1, 2005 WWII Dancing Man $1, and more, this series comprises a range of much-admired types. Crucially, it also features several low mintage issues.

Headlined by the 2016 Decimal Currency $1 – among the lowest mintage decimal issues, just 560,000 struck – the set also includes the Qantas 2020 $1 (mintage 2m) and all FOUR lowmintage issues from the WWI Centenary Spirit Lives $1 Series. The 2015 WWI Centenary $1 had a mintage of just 1.4m, with the 2016 (2.19m), 2017 (1.9m), and 2018 (2m) seldom seen in change.

Even if you did find these low-mintage issues in circulation, or, indeed, any coin in this collection, they would not be in Uncirculated quality, as here. Protecting that quality for the long-term, the collection is also underpinned by luxury presentation. Utterly unique and excessively rare, the 1968 $20 Phillips/Randall Star Note is the ONLY Australian $20 Star Note!

With only 62,500 printed, it stands to reason that the 1968 $20 Phillips/ Randall Star Note would be rare in any condition. The rarity is exacerbated by the fact that Star Notes were created

for circulation, inasmuch as they were specifically made as replacement notes when a note was spoiled in production. Thus, a vast majority of Star Notes were heavily circulated, withdrawn from circulation and destroyed. The 1968 $20 Phillips/Randall Star Note is no exception to the rule.

An exceptional example of the 2008 5c coin: graded MS70 (FDC), the highest number on the Sheldon Scale.

Before Australia united as a nation at Federation in 1901, responsibility for postal services lay in the hands of the individual colonies. Ex-convict Isaac Nichols was appointed postmaster in Sydney in 1809, with postmasters appointed in Tasmania (1812), Western

Australia (1829), Victoria (1836), South Australia (1837) and Queensland (1842). Each each of the six colonies had its own post office and each issued its own stamps – leading to a varied, colourful and highly collectable pre-Federation stamp series!

A time of great change, the mid-70s saw the metallic security thread moved from centre to side, and serials changed from Gothic to OCR-B! The Knight/Wheeler $2 series embodies these changes, and we have all three Knight/Wheeler types in Unc!

Unlike its lower denomination counterparts, the serial number typeface of the $20 didn’t change from Gothic to OCR-B until the 1979 Knight/Stone signature combination. Both notes are scarce in Unc today, with the OCR-B type especially so.
