At Girl Scouts of Northern California, we know that when girls are given the opportunity, they change the world.
Changing Lives and Communities, One Girl at a Time … Thanks to You We are proud that during 2013 over 50,000 girls in Northern California benefitted from the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which empowers girls to discover themselves and the world around them, connect with others, and take action to create sustainable solutions that make the world a better place. Mission Delivery. •

We grew membership 2.6 % during 2013, to over 50,000 girl members, including over 7,000 who live in underserved communities. Girls participated through volunteer-led troops, camps, and multicultural outreach programs that reach girls in afterschool programs, shelters, detention centers, and migrant farmworker communities. 31,000 girls participated in the 2013 cookie sale, raising funds for troop activities and council services, while also developing 5 important life skills: Goal Setting, Decision-making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics. Over 5,600 girls participated in science, technology, engineering, and math programs, including over 3,500 girls in underserved communities, and over 12,000 girls experienced summer camp!
Volunteerism.

30,000 adult members volunteered over 2.5 million hours. We continued to expand online and in- person training.
Diversity and Inclusion.

We increased Latina membership by 14% to almost 9,000 girls and added volunteer liasons in diverse communities, helping to ensure that Girl Scouts is relevant and accessible for more girls and their families.
Financial Health.

We achieved a surplus budget and completed year two of our 5-Year, $20 million Campaign for Girls, raising over $9 million to expand outreach to girls and volunteers, build innovative programs and invest in our camp properties, which during 2013 hosted 140,000 camper days!
