I,
Adraine Conrad
Michael A.V. Mitchell grew up in St. Francisville, near Baton Rouge, where I wrote poetry, but didn’t take converting it into music seriously until I was in my early 20’s. Things that surrounded me and a passion to reach others took my interest in music to another level. I’m a graduate of Southern University A&M College, youth leader, and music minister. In the state of Louisiana I’ve overcame various challenges which are embodied in my ministry. Music, motivation, and ministry are the key components of my assignment. The form of music that I utilize the most is gospel rap, considering the youth are my primary target. When it is used correctly it is very effective in reaching the mind, will, and emotions of those who hear it. My mission is to share the gospel, motivate and uplift, plant hopes and dreams, compel people to come to God, ignite the passion for righteousness, salvation, success, and change throughout the world by the power and authority of Jesus Christ. In the duration of my life I’ve traveled many places
operating in the gift of music as well as speaking. The ability to convey messages through music is more than a talent or well articulated skill, but it’s a ministerial tool. It’s also a solution to a problem. The problem that I’m speaking of is the negativity and damnation that’s in the music that the world, mainly the youth listen to on a day to day basis. I am a National Recording Gospel Rap Artist. I have performed on Bobby Jones Gospel and TBN. I have opened up for several National Recording Gospel Artists including “DA Truth”. I have been nominated for several national music awards. If you would like to know more about my gift and or would like me to come and share with you at your gathering I can be e-mailed at pmg@pullcorp.com. My website is www.TheVIPProject.com and this website gives you tremendous access to my ministry. On the website you can listen to music, purchase music, see video footage, and much more. I am currently managed by the dynamic PullCorp Media & Business Consulting Group. For bookings, please contact PullCorp at 225-366-7855. ■

Maurice GRIFFIN
T
here’s a new crop of young artists making noise and names in gospel music. In recent years, there have been stellar performers such as Smokie Norful and Donnie McClurkin and now there’s the dynamic worship leader Maurice Griffin. This summer the 23 year old rising star will debut his solo CD I Am Somebody: I Peter 2:9 through his own Chicago-based Maurice Griffin Ministries organization. Griffin wrote and produced all eleven of the songs on this heart-felt praise and worship project. Among the standouts are the anthem “Praise
Offering” and the reverential “Rain on Me.” However, the song that stands out for Griffin is “Pour Out Your Spirit.” Griffin says, “There’s a line that states, for me to live is Christ.’ That means a lot to me because Christ is the answer to all of our problems.” The church has always been integral to Griffin’s life. He was born May 19, 1986 in Hampton, VA. The middle of three sons, Griffin’s father works for a steel plant and his mother is a social worker. After relocating to Kankakee, IL, Griffin was just five years old when he first directed a choir and realized that he could sing at the Fairhaven Church of God in Christ (COGIC). “I received my call-
ing [to sing] when washing dishes one night and Daryl Coley’s ...He's Preparing Me,’ started to play,” Griffin recalls. “And the Holy Spirit told me, it’s time,’ and I said, Yes Lord,’ and just began to worship God for the journey he was about to take me through.” Now residing in Chi- ►

cago, IL, and the Minister of Music at Truth and Deliverance International Ministries, Griffin’s goal is to serve and empower other worship leaders to their maximum potential. Griffin‘s musical influences were diverse. “I like Michael Jackson for his abilities as an all-around entertainer,” he adds. “I like Whitney Houston for her stage presence, and I love Daryl Coley for his powerful anointed gift in singing and ministering. William Murphy is one of my new influences.” While a student at Kankakee High School, age 15, Griffin joined the professional youth choir, New Direction. He’s become one of the urban choir’s primary soloists on songs such as “Hold On.” He’s also toured as a background vocalist with gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell, served as a primary background session singer for Bobby Jones’ “Next Generation” tapings on the Gospel Music Channel and sang background on Dorinda Clark Cole’s “The Rose of Gospel” CD that featured the smash hit, “So Many Times.” Griffin was featured on Bobby Jones Artist Retreat Reunion live in Las Vegas, NV by songwriter V. Michael McKay, who wrote ‘The Battle is the Lords’, one of the premier songs that put Yolanda Adams on the charts. Griffin has won many competitions such as the G.M.W.A. Gospel Treasure, Dorinda Clark-Cole’s Singers and Musicians ‘Best Male Vocalist’ of the Year, and currently became a finalist on BET Sunday’s Best. For the new CD I Am Somebody: I Peter 2:9, Griffin says the message is clear and direct. “The message is telling everybody that you are somebody in Christ,” he says. “Everybody is somebody and through Christ, our dreams can and will materialize.” ■
Kory Miles
K
ory Miles is a man, who like David, can be easily described as one who seeks after God's heart. This son of a musician embarked upon this pursuit as a young boy with a passion for music. At any given moment Kory could be found making beats on tables or alternately beatboxing with his mouth. Music literally exuded from him. As a young man, his raw talent was given shape in various school choirs, where he learned the nuances of his craft. It was also around this time that his musical passion and entreprenurial prowess first combined in his first official collaborative endeavor; a R&B group named, “Higher Level,” which he began with a long time friend. At the age of 15, Kory, joined what would become his church home, Antioch Baptist Church, and was baptized. It was here that his lifelong passion gained the depth and purpose of ministry. Soon after joining the Antioch home, Kory became a founding member of Instruments of Praise (I.O.P.), the church youth choir. The choir was wildly successful in its ministry and became well known with many in Northeast Ohio. In fact, God's blessing on I.O.P. was so great that they garnered second place at the McDonald's Gospel Feat held at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Kory has always been comfortable using the talents bestowed upon him for praise and as a testament. In particular, as a father of two before he'd graduated highschool, he felt his strongest call to be towards children who he felt could flourish if they were only guided rather than talked about; nourished rather than ridiculed. In 2006, it became clear, however, that God called him to tend to a greater flock. While Kory had consistently until this juncture pursued the goal of being an established and successful entrepeneur, songwriter, and powerful head of his household, he had fought the reoccuring prompting and persistent call to preach. Kory's purusit in life thus far, could easily be illustrated by Proverbs 22:1, "A good name is more desirable than great riches," His success as a man, father, and servant of Christ had thus far exemplified his pursuit of THAT name, and it was after much prayer, and under the tutelage of Dr. Richard L. Jordan, senior pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, that he accepted the call to not only pursue a life in which his walk in God granted him a good name, but one that also sought out and nurtured other's walks in the same pursuit. God's blessings continued as Kory's faith and sense of direction grew. In 2007, Kory again undertook a group venture and started the gospel music group, Kory Miles and Resurrected Praise. His collaboration with likeminded artists and fellow believers allowed him to continue in his goal of leaving a positive mark on the world. That mark was solidified in February of 2011 when Kory released his first world wide single with Resurrected Praise entitled, "He Is." Having signed with Urban Arts Entertainment in December of 2011. Kory released his first full length project "Who is K.Miles." slated for a spring 2013 release. The lead single from the album "Rescue Me" is due out 8/7/2012 and will be available on all music media outlets. ■

tart-up companies are the target market of this firm. PMG intends to stay on the pulse of new business activity within the local area. Additionally, business contacts, referrals from among the group, and Internet marketing efforts will be made in pursuit of new clients. Entertainment Management
P
MG has the ability to jump into the early marketplace, as Louisiana has a newly emerging, powerful presence in the entertainment industry. Louisiana’s generous tax credits for the film industry have drawn many major elements for film and television production to the state, giving it the nickname “Hollywood South”. As local talent is developed and becomes known, they will need appropriate representation. Louisiana has always had a strong athletic undercurrent, developing many pro football, baseball and basketball players from its high school and college ranks. There is an ongoing need for the sports stars and entertainers to have representation that they can trust and that can not only focus on their abilities on the screen, field, or court, but who also cares about them as a person, working on their image, character and integrity. That is what PMG brings to the table in this field. ■
