FIND YOUR GOLD WITHIN Waiting behind graduate students for internships and research opportunities? Not here. Whether you’re a natural-born leader or looking to hone your leadership skills, you won’t wait until your junior year to be exposed to professional opportunities. Not convinced that’s possible? Below are just four transformative opportunities to dive into at DePauw as early as your first year.

PRINDLE INSTITUTE FOR ETHICS STUDENT INTERNS Offering three types of internships, the Prindle Institute for Ethics fosters reflection on ethical issues, including questions of justice and public policy, character, duty and responsibility. Depending on the internship, you will have the opportunity to write for the Prindle Post, attend Prindle-sponsored events and retreats, produce a podcast and/or be involved with graphic-design projects.

BONNER SCHOLAR PROGRAM Selected from the incoming freshman class, 20 students who have demonstrated a commitment to service and community will have the opportunity to join a cohort dedicated to the same at DePauw and in Greencastle. The vision of the Bonner Program is to uplift communities through engaging students in service and civic involvement during their four years in college. Accepted students receive a need-based financial aid award with limited loans. In addition, students receive extensive training in return for their commitment to the four-year program.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES PROGRAM ITAP provides paid internship-quality opportunities for students to hone their technology and professional skills by working in on-campus jobs and projects involving technology. ITAP interns gain valuable professional, communication, technology and leadership skills essential to any career path, regardless of their major or area of study. This program is open to students across all majors.

SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM The Sustainability Leadership Program creates opportunities for student-driven environmental initiatives, educates campus about how the environment intersects with societal well-being and supports institutional initiatives that demonstrate the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Through both paid and volunteer handson opportunities, students are equipped to navigate complex challenges and create lasting change.
