Program Development reinforces learning. 3. The content must be extremely relevant and usable right now – Each participant must leave with several plans of action that they have every intention of doing.
While working with clients, I’ve learned that there are certain strategies that are particularly important when working with a team: 1. The facilitator must be credible – The facilitator must be able to use examples on the fly, which can only come with experience. Letter from the Editor
2. There must be dynamic participation – We must utilize the strongest lever in the room (the participants themselves). Having the participants coach each other is an engaging strategy that provides opportunities to practice and

STRUCTURE TOOL
M
Facilitators should support the learning with concepts followed by a deeper level of learning through exercise. This approach encourages peer-to peer coaching as it allows for a more knowledgeable learner to teach and support his or her peers. The goal of utilizing the scaffolding approach is to provide support structures, whereby once outside of the training environment, each person feels empowered and supported to make decisions within his/her locust of control. The method helps create a motivational environment and is a lever in which application can be reinforced.
Earnest Professional Development Institute, Values Matter: Social and Emotional Training will consist of four sessions. The training comes alive as participants engage in experiential exercises and role-playing that help them internalize the principles and skills that are taught. Based on what was shared, we believe that an ideal format for this would be to deliver the program in 4 half-day sessions (time TBD), each session spaced over a period of time to give participants an opportunity to apply the learning in the classroom. Subsequent sessions will provide opportunities for participants to discuss the success and learn from one another. The layout would likely be based upon the school schedule and professional development.

FORMAT TOOL EXAMPLE
M
We would present the sessions in a context that is entirely Earnest Elementary Schools so that it speaks to the nuances of the school – while the program content would be identical to other schools that offer Values Matter, we would adjust language, give more relevant examples, and talk about specific scenarios at Tanner elementary school. There may even be sidebars or issues that we find are particularly important for this school to tackle and that we need to spend more time on than we had planned, and in an onsite program we are capable of adjusting our timing to make that happen.
BUSINESS TIP
As long as you have room in whatever facility you choose, we can accommodate up to 25 people in this session. If you would like to have more than 25 participants attend a session, we can discuss a reasonable cost for additional participants. The price is based on 25 participants, should the number of participants be fewer than 25 participants per session, the cost would not change. The timing on this is flexible as we simply need to match our facilitator’s schedule with your availability – and we have a couple facilitators in mind that would be particularly effective with your team.

OPTIONAL
M
At the conclusion of the facilitator led training sessions, each teacher will have an opportunity to be assigned a company’s personal coach. At a time most beneficial to Tanner’s staff (After school hours are available) and company’s staff, the coach will meet with the teacher for an initial hour session. The coach would continue to work with the teacher to help reinforce learning. The sessions will help educators understand the role that social and emotional learning play in the classroom. Before an educator can effectively implement social and emotional concepts in the classroom he or she must understand them and subscribe to the theoretical precepts.
