Here, we join the Mark Twain Riverboat for a dinner cruise on the mighty Mississippi River. Enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing as we sail down this mighty river and soak up the wonderful views of the riverbank whilst listening to stories about Mark Twain and his favorite river! B D DAY THREE Our travels today have us heading north along the state borders of Nebraska, Iowa, and finally into South Dakota where we overnight in Sioux Falls, SD, with dinner included. B D DAY FOUR Continue our crossing of the Great American Prairie Reserve as we make a stop in Mitchel to see the unique Corn Palace. With everchanging mural displays made from the fruits of the harvest on the building’s exterior, this building is truly an American icon. Our next encounter is the Badlands National Park featuring sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles, and spires blended with the largest, protected mixed grass prairie in the United States. Covering over 64,000 acres, the park includes sites of the 1890's Ghost Dances, over 11,000 years of human history, and the world's richest Oligocene epoch fossil beds. A visit to the area is not complete without a stop at Wall Drug Store, a family-owned and operated business which offers eccentric hospitality! Continue to Rapid City, South Dakota, where we will check into our hotel and overnight for the next two nights. B

DAY FIVE This morning, we shall visit Mount Rushmore National Memorial, a 60-foot granite carved edifice of four American Presidents embodying 120 years of U.S. history, which stands as a symbol of democracy worldwide. Then, we will catch a glimpse of the Crazy Horse Memorial as we travel to Custer State Park. Here, we follow the wildlife route which twists and turns its way through the prairie and ponderosa pinestudded hills that harbor many of the park's wildlife species. From the safety of your coach window comes face-to-face with the number one inhabitant of the park: a 1,350 free-roaming buffalo as well as whitetailed deer, mule deer, and elk, and if we're lucky, bighorn sheep, burrowing owls, coyotes, or even a mountain lion. In addition, look out for two of the most colorful characters along the way: prairie dogs and a band of feral burros. Overnight in Rapid City. B DAY SIX Leaving Rapid City behind, we travel into North Dakota to the wilds of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This park is less crowded than most and offers a fantastic opportunity to view wildlife amid the stunning scenery. Look for bison, feral horses, prairie dogs, and much more. We overnight in the historic town of Medora, North Dakota, which is known for its western culture and hospitality. Our hotel is the famous Rough Riders Hotel where luxury meets western charm and presidential history. Named for the volunteer cavalry unit led by America's 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, this property embraces all that is 1880’s Western nostalgia. This evening, experience dinner like no other at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue! Watch as chefs load up pitchforks with 12oz steaks and fondue them, western style! Paired with all your favorite fixin's and an unbelievable view of the Badlands. This is a perfect way to end the day. B D DAY SEVEN Today, we cross into the state of Montana to the site of Custer’s Last Stand: the battlefield of Little Big Horn. Relive the epic encounter between Custer’s 7th Cavalry and the Cheyenne Indian Chief, Crazy Horse, in the company of a state ranger, who will interpret the battlefields' numerous white stone markers, which mark the progress of the battle. After free time for lunch at The Custer Battlefield Trading Post and Café (you must try the Indian Fry Bread), we travel to Cody, WY: the gateway to Yellowstone National Park and home to Buffalo Bill. Explore the many dining options available this evening, before an evening of real wild, western action at The Cody Nite Rodeo. B

DAY EIGHT Today and tomorrow are the highlights of the trip as we explore Yellowstone: America’s first national park. Marvel at a volcano’s hidden power, rising up in colorful hot springs, mud pots, and geysers. Explore mountains, forests, and lakes to watch the local wildlife thrive and witness the drama of the natural world unfold. Today we enter the park through the northeast entrance and travel the northern part of the park to Mammoth Hot Springs and the Norris Geyser Basin, exiting at West Yellowstone, Montana, where an included dinner awaits us before overnighting. B D DAY NINE Re-enter the park and travel the southern route of Yellowstone to the famous Old Faithful geyser which erupts, always on time, every 93 minutes. Continue past Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Village, always on the lookout for bison, bears, and elk. We leave Yellowstone and enter the Grand Teton National Park on the way to Jackson Hole, the Elk Capital of the world, where we overnight. B DAY TEN Our journey continues into Idaho as we progress further south toward Salt Lake City. Along the way is the must-see Bear Lake, located on the Utah/Idaho border. This large scenic lake is often described as the “Caribbean of the Rockies" due to its intense turquoise blue waters and a scenic spot to take lunch. Carrying on into Utah, we arrive in Salt Lake City where a tour of the famous Mormon Tabernacle located in Temple Square is included (subject to availability). Completed in 1867, the Tabernacle was built as a place for church members to gather and hear the words of their leaders. Brigham Young directed that the building should be designed so people could see and hear the speaker without impediment, which you shall witness. Overnight in Salt Lake City. B DAY ELEVEN Today, we follow Interstate 80: the United States’ second-longest highway which runs the length of southern Wyoming, passing through long stretches of open road and beautiful natural scenery. We stop for an included dinner in Laramie before arriving in Denver, Colorado, the Mile-High City, where we overnight for the next two nights. B D

DAY TWELVE This morning, we join our local guide for a tour of the city. Experience the two sides of Denver: an historic western town and thriving modern city. Travel through the tree-lined streets of Denver’s residential neighborhoods and journey back to the 19th century. Witness the elegance of historic Larimer Square and the Victorian mansions of "unsinkable Molly Brown" and others. Along the way, we will pass a variety of cultural attractions, such as beautiful City Park, Civic Center Park, the gold-domed State Capitol, the United States Mint, and the Denver Art Museum, to name a few. Another highlight is bustling 17th Street, Denver’s financial nerve center, with its towering skyscrapers set against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Speaking of the Rocky Mountains, this afternoon we will travel 15 miles west of Denver to the foothill of the Rockies to visit the impressive Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. This naturally formed, world-famous outdoor venue is the only naturally occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world. Learn about the gradual earth movement that formed the "walls" of the amphitheater, the earliest inhabitants of the territory, and the artists that have graced this magical stage. B DAY THIRTEEN Heading even further east, we follow Route 70 into Kansas and the city of Wichita B D DAY FOURTEEN Our next stop Dallas, Texas! Here, we visit the Legendary Southfork Ranch, made famous by the Ewing Family in the television series “Dallas”. J.R.’s Steak Dinner is included at the Ranch this evening in Bobbies study! Here, we will all congregate for a final farewell dinner as we reminisce about our travels across the country through 11 states. B D DAY SIXTEEN After breakfast, we begin our journey back home.
