CSE Interns: Fall 2016

The Center for Sustainability Education (CSE) Internship Program employs students to work on projects to advance sustainability at Dickinson. The projects you see the interns working on this semester exemplify the expanding operational and educational understanding our institution has of sustainability.

Major: Biology Activities: Fixing bikes & riding bikes Internship Goals: Improve Green Bike fleet and strengthen biking presence on campus.

Work towards Bicycle Friendly University (GOLD)!

Major: Environmental Studies and Policy Management Activities: Martial Arts Club, Outing Club, Eco-Rep, Edible Excursions Leader Internship Goal: Wants to extend Eco-Reps Program to faculty and staff and recruit a greater diversity of students to the program.

Major: English Activities: Dickinson Equestrian Team, Dog House, and Astronomy Club Internship Goal: To continue hosting, managing, and improving successful CSEsponsored events.

Working with other campus organizations to improve sustainability at their events.

Major: Economics and Mathematics Activities: Math TA, Orchestra, Economics Club Internship Goals: • Improve efficiency of green house gas emissions data collection, energy efficiency research, and other data-related projects. • Improve the visibility and integrity of sustainability data for Dickinson College.

Major: Environmental Science Activities: Liberty Cap Society, Jive Turkeys Ultimate Frisbee, Club Basketball Internship Goal: Cultivate a cohesive relationship between CSE’s sustainability goals, students, and faculty and staff across Dickinson College.

Major: Neuroscience Activities: Peer tutor, Jazz band, Jazz combo Internship Goals: Wants to identify major green house gas users on campus.

Major: Environmental Studies Activities: Intramural Champion, Delta Nu Sorority, Wheel & Chain Internship Goal: To integrate a broader perspective into Sustainability at Dickinson by networking with various students, faculty, staff, groups, organizations, and clubs.

Major: Religion and Environmental Studies Activities: Biking Club, Treehouse, Swing Dance Club, First Year Mentor Internship Goal: To make biking an accessible and sustainable resource for the entire college community.

Major: Economics and Environmental Studies Activities: Learning Associate in Environmental Studies, Astronomy Club, and Habitat for Humanity Internship Goal: Wants to integrate waste planning in event planning for students, faculty, and staff.

Major: Earth Sciences; Geoscience Activities: Dickinson Equestrian Team, Geology Club, Delta Nu Sorority Internship Goal: To effectively promote sustainability at Dickinson programs and events through digital and print media.
