CSE Intern Spring 2017

The Center for Sustainability Education (CSE) Internship Program employs students to work on projects to advance sustainability at Dickinson. The projects you see the interns working on this semester exemplify the expanding operational and educational understanding our institution has of sustainability.

Major: Psychology and Health Studies Activities: The Handlebar, Alpha Phi Omega, The Hive.

Internship Goal: Wants to form better communication between EcoReps serving different communities.

Major: History Activities: Career Coach, Omicron Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Alpha Theta, History Majors Committee Internship Goal: Aspires to positively impact sustainable practices of students both on- and off-campus.

Major: Environmental Studies Activities: Intramural Champion, Delta Nu Sorority, Wheel & Chain Internship Goal: To integrate a broader perspective into Sustainability at Dickinson by networking with various students, faculty, staff, groups, organizations, and clubs.

Major: Biology & Environmental Science Activities: Fixing bikes & riding bikes Internship Goals: • Improve Green Bike fleet and strengthen biking presence on campus. • Work towards Bicycle Friendly University (GOLD)!

Major: Neuroscience, Philosophy Activities: Peer tutor, Jazz band, Jazz combo Internship Goals: • Strengthen connections between CSE and the College Farm.

• Improve data integrity.

• Complete essential reports for Dickinson College.

Major: Undeclared Activities: Dickinson Ultimate Frisbee, Community Board (Quads) Internship Goal: Recruit, coordinate, and train Hive members and manage the care of the hives on campus

Major: Environmental Science Minor: History Activities: Cross Country, Track and Field, CSE Steering Committee Internship Goal: Wants to reduce waste across campus and educate the importance of proper recycling habits.

Major: Religion and Environmental Studies Activities: Biking Club, Treehouse Resident, First Year Mentor Internship Goal: Introduce the campus community to the many joys of bicycle maintenance, culture, and riding, while also exploring and encouraging the sustainable elements of cycling.

Major: Environmental Science Activities: Outdoors Club, Infernos A Capella, First Year Mentor Internship Goal: To use social media to represent CSE, it’s events, and goals, in a fun and inspiring way.

Major: Biology Activities: Outing Club, Peer Inmate Tutoring, America Reads Internship Goal: To help implement sustainability themed campaigns on campus.

Major: Economics and Mathematics Activities: Economics TA, Baird Sustainability Fellow Internship Goals: • Improve energy conservation through the Energy Challenge, the Carbon Pricing program and other data-related projects. • Improve the visibility and integrity of sustainability data for Dickinson College.
