The Center for Sustainability Education (CSE) Internship Program employs students to work on projects to advance sustainability at Dickinson. The projects you see the interns working on this summer exemplify the expanding operational and educational understanding our institution has of sustainability. This summer, CSE continues to advance our projects of the past while undertaking new initiatives that address sustainability. We will be coordinating Camp DIG with the College Farm and ALLARM. Additionally, our interns will be working on projects related to PreOrientation Programs, Eco Reps, Media, Outreach, Communications, and Education. We will also work to advance existing initiatives and build support. As you review our student interns, please notice the diversity of class years, majors and areas of interest, demonstrating the breadth of sustainability at Dickinson. We engage. #dsonengage #dsonsustainability We are pleased to present our Summer 2015 intern team! Come visit us in Kaufman 190.
Summer 2015
CSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
This summer will be my first time working for CSE, and I am very excited to get involved in the Dickinson sustainability community. I believe that sustainability is a critical element of Dickinson’s student culture, so I am excited to help contribute to the important work CSE does for our campus. This summer, I hope to work on communications and outreach for the Center to make it a more visible force on campus. I study English and Political Science. Around campus, you can find me playing ultimate with my fellow Jive Turkeys or hanging out in the library. I am also a member of Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity. I studied abroad in Bologna, Italy for the Fall 2014 semester, and I hope to return in the near future! Class of 2016 English, Political Science
EMILY SMITH
This is my third semester working for the Center for Sustainability Education, and my first summer in Carlisle. I will be working to prepare the center for the next academic year, by doing work with communications, education, outreach, and program development. This Summer, I will also be working as the CSE coordinator for the DIG camp at the farm. I’ll be working with other sustainability interns to give local youth the best environmental education opportunities possible. On campus, I live in the Treehouse and serve as a barista for the Peddler, a member of I Am That Girl, and Roots. This summer, I’m looking forward to being outside, drinking coffee, rockclimbing, and preparing for my Fall semester in Copenhagen.

JACKIE GOODWIN
I am an Environmental Science major and rising sophomore. My interest in the environment began during the year I spent abroad in Germany in 2011-2012, which inspired me to pursue a degree in environmental science. This summer I will be working with CSE to wrap up projects from Spring 2015 and to prepare for Fall 2015 projects.
Outside of the office, I am an animal lover and enjoy spending time with friends. My hidden talents include roller skating and the ability to touch my tongue to my nose. Around campus, I am involved in Tritons, German Club, and the Dickinson yearbook: Microcosm.
