ARCHITECTURES ROLE IN THE REDEVELOPMENT OF RURAL COMMUNITIES HAS TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS, A DWINDLING ECONOMY, AND COMMUNITIES THAT MAY OR MAY NOT WANT INTERVENTION. ECONOMY: PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT ALLOWS FOR GREAT DISPERSION OF WEALTH THROUGHOUT THE AREA. GETTING THE POPULACE BETTER JOB OPPORTUNITIES WHILE ALLOWING THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND ROOM FOR SMALL BUSINESS TO GROW ALONG WITH THE DEVELOPING AREA. ULTIMATELY PROFITING FROM THE ECO-TOURISM THAT IS ALREADY PRESENT IN THE AREA. COMMUNITY: COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE MAKES LIVING IN THE CITY MORE DESIRABLE AND ADDS TO THE OVERALL VALUE OF A RESIDENCES HOME. THIS MANIFESTS IN THE COMMUNITY BY BUILDING UP THE WATERFRONT FOR PUBLIC ACCESS CONNECTING LOCAL PARKS TO THE CITY PROPER. WHILE ALSO ADDING OPPORTUNITY TO FOR RESIDENCE TO INTERACT WITH THE PUBLIC LANDS THAT SURROUND THE AREA. ENVIRONMENTAL: MAKING LAND CONSERVATION PROFITABLE MAKES ITS VALUE MORE TANGIBLE. BEATTYVILLE, KY IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF DANIEL BOONE NATIONAL FOREST AND AT THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE RED RIVER GORGE, A PROMINENT CLIMBING AREA ON THE EAST COAST OF THE US. ADDING A HOTEL TO THE CITY BRINGS THE EXISTING REVENUE SOURCE IN THE CITY PROPER, PROFITING FROM ECO-TOURISM. MASTER PLANNING PHASING 1. PRE-FAB MANUFACTURING FACILITY: - BRINGS INDUSTRY AND BLUE COLLAR WORK BACK TO THE AREA - MANUFACTURING ADDS AFFORDABLE OPTION FOR HOUSING POST HOTEL DEVELOPMENT 2. HOTEL: - PULLS TOURISM REVENUE TO CITY PROPER - CREATES MANUFACTURING JOB TO JUMP START FACTORY OPERATIONS 3. MAIN STREET DEVELOPMENT - WITH ADDED REVENUE STREAM MAIN STREET HAS THE GAINING POTENTIAL TO REOPEN WITH LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS - TOURISM INDUSTRY DIVERSIFIES CITY’S REVENUE STREAM
