Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted their annual Community Cup Sponsored by Pepsi over the Fire Course with 92 residents competing. It was great to see so many golfers taking on the Fire Course to represent their community. The format of the event was pairs betterball stableford, with the team event being calculated by using the best 4 scores from each community score. The community with the highest points will win the Community Cup!!

The winning community for the Jumeirah Golf Estates Community Cup Sponsored by Pepsi was Lime Tree Valley with a terrific score of 182 points, 38 under par beating Whispering Pines by 10 shots. In third place with a score of 170 points was Redwood Park.

The winners of the pairs event with an unbelievable 11 under par was Arjun Khanna and John Gilley. The pair played beautifully shooting 23 points on the front and 24 on the back nine, during the round the duo dovetailed superbly to claim the victory.

The runner-up pair narrowly missing out by a card playoff was Sheila McIlroy and Alastair McIlroy with an excellent 11 under par. Sheila played some lovely golf shooting 1 under gross on the back nine by herself. The pairing had 8 net birdies and 2 net eagles for their fantastic score. Finishing in third place winning on a card playoff was Jack Muhs and Claudia Kilcullen with a score of 10 under par. Fourth place again with 10 under par was the pairing of Stacey Cartwright and Chris Sheasby.

We also had nearest the pin prizes on all the par 3’s sponsored by the amazing Brooklyn Creamery, Taj Dubai, and School of Culinary & Finishing Arts, the first was a nearest the pin on the 2nd hole which was won with a lovely shot by Panu Korpinen. The next on-course prize was a nearest the pin on hole 8 which was won with an amazing shot by Fabrice Relave. There was a nearest the pin on the 11th hole which was won with a wonderful shot by Sheila McIlroy. The final nearest the pin was on hole 14 which was won with a terrific shot by Tommy Povedano.
