On the 26th March we saw the return of our Back Tee Challenge – a chance for our members to experience Dubai Creek in its longest, toughest set-up. Unsurprisingly, the players who rose to the top of the leaderboard were amongst the best amateur golfers in the region. We had a three-way tie at the top which could be separated only by a back nine countback. Mike

Tee Challenge 2022 champion was Edoardo Galeppini with a fantastic +1, 72.

Our April champion in the OMA Emirates Monthly in association with Christies International Real Estate Dubai was Roma Khanna with an excellent -4, 67. The Clash of the Titans is an incredibly enjoyable day out and on the 7th April we hosted our annual fixture where we battle against our sister clubs, Emirates Golf Club and Jumeirah Golf Estates. It should come as no surprise that the Creek team trounced the other clubs on home soil and had the most fun doing it! We will update you on the result of the final result on the Earth Course next month.

The golfing calendar of April is synonymous with one thing and one thing only – The Masters. In celebration of the most beautiful tournament in golf, we held our very own Masters Sunday event. A strong 100 person field competed in this fun, Par is your Friend format. Triumphant in victory with a -7 was John Fellingham.

Taking the April Ladies Monthly Medal by Park Hyatt Dubai was Retna Schepens with a -5, 66.

We were delighted to hold a brand new event in the Dubai Creek calendar in honour of our first Men’s Captain, Vikram Judge. To celebrate his incredible stroke play prowess during his time at the club, we split the field into three handicap division and awarded the prizes based on gross score. Our three winners were, Dino Varkey (Low Div.), Janet Kim (Mid Div.), and Sanjay Khalia (High Div.). Finally, it was a privilege to host one of the many Race to Malaysia Qualifying events in the region at Dubai Creek on Saturday 23rd April. Split into five handicap divisions, the qualifiers will represent Dubai Creek at the regional final at Al Hamra in November. Our five qualifiers were Miki Mirza, Janet Kim, Amit Pateria, Saurabh Lodha, and Catriona Murray, with Creek Member, Srinivas Chivikula qualifying in the ENBD division.

Coming up over the next few weeks, we have the monthly medal on Saturday 7th May, the Ladies monthly medal on Wednesday 11th May and the Mixed Open 2022 on Saturday 21st May.

Before I leave you, I wanted to share with you an incredible golfing experience myself, Antony Avinash Louis, Imran Qayyum, and Jahanzeb Awan had a few weeks ago.
