On Saturday we were delighted to welcome 26 junior players from across the UAE to Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, ensuring a strong field for this year’s junior open. Well done to all of our competitors, a fantastic day which was tightly contested and played in great spirit. Some fantastic prizes were on offer and so firstly, a huge thank you to Ping for their generous support of this year’s event.
Now for the results…
On course, both a Boys and Girls Nearest to the Pin prize was on offer. Demonstrating some fantastic iron play, our Girls winner on Hole 8 was Sakura Kawakami and on Hole 14, Lorenzo Lironi took the prize in the Boys competition.
The Net Division was highly contested and a winner was decided by the narrowest of margins. Finishing Runner-Up, and missing out on countback after shooting a solid 1 over 72 was Bjorn Brake. With the better back nine, therefore, our Net Winner was Wenji Li, also with a +1, 72. Well done Wenji!
The Ping Dubai Creek Junior Open is a gross competition and finishing RunnerUp, therefore, in the Overall Division with a great round of 74 (+3) was Emanuele Galeppini. However, as the tournament progressed, one competitor emerged as a clear winner. After falling behind early on in her round, Hannah Alan was able to finish in style with a 3 under par back nine to post a superb round of 70 (-1). Hannah is the Ping Dubai Creek Junior Open Champion for 2022!
