LINCOLN DUBAI GOLF PRO-AM SERIES 03/04/22

Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted the Lincoln Dubai Golf ProAm Series which saw 28 teams of 4 compete over the Earth Course, in a friendly best 2 from 4 stableford format. In addition to this we had 29 UAE PGA Professionals playing in an 18-hole Strokeplay tournament.

The weather was beautiful with a slight breeze, however the club decided to offer generous tees with tricky pin positions making playing conditions rather difficult.

The scoring in the professional division was excellent considering the difficult pin positions that were in play.

The winner of the professional prize was Michael Bolt of the Claude Harmon III Academy. Michael shot an impressive 69 (3 under par) with 4 birdies in total managing to pick up 2 birdies on each 9.

Runner up was Jackson Bell of Jumeirah Golf Estates with 70 (2 under par). Jackson managed to pick up 4 birdies in his round, playing the front 9 holes in a superb 2 under par.

In third place on his own was Diarmaid Fraser of Jumeirah Golf Estates, Diarmaid finished the tournament with an overall score of 71, 1 under par. Tied fourth place was Stephen Wilson, Stuart Fee, Purna Sharma and Malcolm Young. Stephen and Malcom both played the front 9 in 37 and came home in 35, whereas Stuart and Purna had the opposite.

TEAM RESULTS

The overall prize winners of the team event were the team lead by professional Tim Backhouse of Jumeirah Golf Estates, David Warham, Adam Hodgkins and Zak El Taher who scored an impressive 90 points, 18 under par! In runners up spot with a score of 16 under, led by Professional Purna Sharma of ProSports International, Ben Li, Sarwant Saini and Damian Saini. Despite a tremendous effort they came up just two points short of the leaders.

In third place, again with a score of 16 under par needing a card playoff were the team lead by Oscar Yeomans of Jumeirah Golf Estates, Noel O’Leary, Kieran Casey, and Steve Drake.

In fourth with a score of 15 under, was professional Stephen Wilson of Jumeirah Golf Estates and his team of Mark Schoombie, Alan McNamara and Raymond Beard.

There was also a variety of on course events sponsored by Lincoln. Kieran Casey hit a tremendous shot into the 6th hole where he won the Nearest the Pin competition. Longest drive on hole 12 for the gents was won by Alan Mcnamara. The final on course event was longest drive on hole 12 for the ladies which was won by Sheila Mcilroy.
