Seafood Night Extravaganza

Kris with a View is well-known for its Seafood Night, an amazing gastronomic adventure that features the day›s best catches served in a variety of culinary ways. At AED 99 per person, it represents excellent value for seafood fans. The broad menu is accompanied with an unlimited salad, appetizer, and dessert area, guaranteeing a gratifying and wellrounded eating experience.

With its unique tomato flavor and gorgeous color, the Pasta Italian-Fruitti de mare instantly attracted my taste senses. The sauce suited the fish nicely, resulting in a harmonic and delectable dinner.

Another standout was the Mixed Seafood Termidor, which undoubtedly rates among Kris with a View›s top main

courses. The creamy termidor sauce was well balanced, adding just the proper amount of richness to complement the marine tastes.

The Thai Red Fish Curry stood out for its excellent flavor combination, with a subtle kick that gave excitement to each bite. The Stir Fried Broccoli and Mushroom, developed for a Mongolian palette, drew me in with its exquisite sauce, which truly spoke volumes.

Kris with a Point of View extends beyond seafood to offer a variety of side dishes that compliment the main courses wonderfully. With its distinct Cajun flavor, the Cajun Roasted Potato proved to be a fantastic substitute for rice, providing a tasty twist to the dish.

The Malaysian Mixed Seafood Curry was an incredible joy, with real flavors that left me wanting more. The Baked Fish with Garlic Butter Sauce won my choice for best evening main course. The fish and garlic butter combo was expertly handled, resulting in a meal that was not too salty but rather a harmonic blend of tastes.

Among the seafood options, the Grilled Mixed Seafood had a delectable mix of lobster, shrimp, and crabs. Each bite was a wonderful adventure, with the fish expertly prepared and bursting with natural flavor.

The New Orleans Barbecue Shrimps were a standout, properly seasoned and cooked to perfection, giving a juicy and delightful treat. Each mussel was cooked

to perfection, capturing the essence of Provencal tastes.

The Frito Misto, a popular buffet item, pleased with its crunchy breading, wellcooked texture, and a delicious flavor that left me wanting more.

The Crispy Crab Stick Salad provided a refreshing and delectable reprieve from the seafood frenzy. The inherent sweetness of the crab stick shined through, giving each mouthful a rush of flavor. It complemented the seafood dishes perfectly, balancing the tastes and giving a refreshing aspect to the dinner.

Park Regis Kris with a View Kris Kin Hotel Dubai is a real treasure for seafood enthusiasts. It offers an exceptional dining experience with its spectacular views, engaging environment, and excellent culinary options.

At the museum’s Future Heroes Summer Camp, learning is anything but ordinary. Future Heroes will prepare to embark on an extraordinary journey, from a realm of futuristic exhibits to immersive experiences with the second edition of

the camp returning. They will enjoy new activities across four themes including; Space Exploration, Sustainability & Ecology, Happiness & Wellbeing, and Technology giving them the chance to discover their potential in a world of activities.

Children can engage in hands-on workshops led by experts in various fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence, photography, 3D printing, and more. From Space Canvas Tapestry to 3D Moon Painting, Future Heroes up to -13yearsold can enjoy a range of activities that will help unleash their creativity in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Some of the workshops include:

1. Space Exploration

Astronauts Training with Minecraft - In this workshop, kids will have the chance to explore the Minecraft Space Center. They will experience their first day of space explorer training and will review the coding concept of repeat loops and then expand their knowledge by learning about while loops and conditional statements and apply these concepts to detect different materials and to navigate in a 3D space.

Space Shelter: 3D Modeling & Printing

- This 3D Printing workshop invites little ones to learn about the basics of designing a 3D model using Tinkercad interface. Future Heroes will create their own Space Shelter design and explore different options and methods to improve it, and will also be introduced to how 3D printers and will be able to create a 3D printed design to take home.

2. Sustainability & Ecology

Building a Smart Home - This workshop will introduce students to Sustainable Smart Homes and what type of innovative solutions are required in future homes. From design thinking processes to problem-solving techniques for innovative solutions, your little ones will learn the basics of electricity, build circuits, understand the current and voltage relationship as well as the inputoutput relationship.

Solar Hat Kit - In this workshop, kids will learn about sustainability and renewable energy sources while building a unique invention. They’ll create a solar hat that harnesses the power of the sun to spin a face fan, allowing for a refreshing breeze on hot days, and discover how solar energy can be converted into electricity that can be used in our daily lives.

Create Your Museum in VR - In this workshop, participants will create a customised virtual museum in virtual reality (VR) that showcases a diverse range of artwork, with added features to invite other participants to visit their VR world, interact with the artwork and learn more about it.

Cosmic Conversations for Children -

This workshop encourages meaningful conversations about happiness and wellbeing in the form of a card game. Kids will then have an understanding of empathy and emotions by identifying the values, emotions, and appropriate responses in the scenarios being acted out. They will develop visual collages through arts and crafts to bring their values to life, and also engage in emotion charades to attribute movement, sound

or words to feelings.

4. Technology

Futuristic Robots - Inspired by the uniquely agile Robodog of Museum of the Future, this workshop will invite artists to build their own futuristic animal robot using waste materials. Using recycled materials and metallic paints, participants will create a storyline about their futuristic animal robot and discuss how their robot could make a positive change towards a more sustainable world.

Superstories for superheroes – Future Heroes will be prompted to think about a current problem that they care about as they design their ideal superhero/ superheroine. Then, by using the FlipaClip App with their phones and tablets where you can bring animations to life, they will create an animated short clip about their superhero in action. The workshop will encourage our young animators to use their imagination and keep developing their digital literacy as they playfully jump between the analogue and the digital worlds.

Autism Awareness and Uniting Hearts:

‘Not so Different After All’

In this exclusive interview, Dr. Aloysia Ogle, author of ‘Not So Different After All,’ discusses her personal experience and the inspiration behind her powerful book. Dr. Ogle’s aim to enhance autism awareness and understanding was inspired by her own son’s autism diagnosis and the difficulties experienced by many families. She feels that through telling her family’s experience, she may contribute to a more welcoming and inclusive society.

“My son was diagnosed with autism in 2018, when he was 4 years old,” Dr. Ogle explains. “He had speech delay, learning, and behavioral challenges. I found it challenging to admit our situation, but during the 2020 Covid lockdown, I was forced to come to terms with our reality and find a way to navigate a personal and global crisis.”

Dr. Ogle observed that many other families were dealing with similar issues but were unwilling to share their stories. This understanding motivated her to break the autistic quiet and become an advocate for open discussion. She began sharing her family’s experience on numerous virtual platforms and observed the impact it had on others.

“I was preaching to the proverbial choir,” Dr. Ogle states. “Adults don’t care about things that don’t affect them directly. But little kids are sponges who learn so

much. If adults shared this story with their children, and if children learned how to respond to difficult peers, their caregivers and teachers would learn from them in return.”

Dr. Ogle decided to publish a book in order to reach out to young children and their caretakers. However, she had difficulties and sought to locate help. Undaunted, she began with what she had and developed the idea for her book via interactions with her own children.

“I found myself having to explain to my then 4-year-old daughter why her older brother did some ‘strange’ things,” Dr. Ogle shares. “Having these conversations with my kids was the beginning of the planning and concept of the book.”

Motivation

‘Not So Different After All’ has been translated into 13 different languages to assure the book’s global effect. Dr. Ogle believes that cultural and linguistic viewpoints influence how individuals respond to autism awareness campaigns.

“I come from a country with 12 official languages and live in a country with 190 nationalities,” she says. “Regardless of language, I want this simple poem to benefit all people and communities.” We also try to adapt the characters and poetry to the culture and idea of inclusiveness.”

Because of the virtual aspect of collaboration, the translation process created its own set of obstacles. Misunderstandings and language issues

were widespread, but the crew was able to replicate the lyrics in a passionate and meaningful way thanks to their determined efforts.

Dr. Ogle’s long-term objective is to empower families and build a safe and inclusive environment for people with autism. She wants to teach readers how to recognize and comprehend autism, how to treat people with kindness, and how to promote inclusiveness.

“I try to promote inclusion by highlighting that even though someone might seem disabled or burdensome, they are also gifted and talented and that they can contribute meaningfully if we support them to do so,” she emphasizes.

Dr. Ogle is involved in a number of projects and collaborations to promote the cause. She is collaborating with support groups in Zambia and a social organization in Turkey, as well as networking with female entrepreneurs and organizing a ‘Task Force’ of autistic community leaders in Dubai to impact change in their own community.

Dr. Ogle believes that her book will challenge preconceptions and misconceptions about autism, encouraging a more tolerant and inclusive society. The easy and realistic plot of the book tries to interest young readers while also teaching them key lessons about empathy, understanding, and appreciating diversity.

“Not So Different After All” covers the autism experience of a young kid called Alex. His experiences, hardships, and achievements are explored as he navigates a world that may not always comprehend him. Dr. Ogle invites youngsters to look past the surface and realize the unique qualities and perspectives that people with autism may contribute to the world via vivid images and sincere words. The book also instructs parents, caregivers, and teachers on how to help autistic children and build an inclusive atmosphere in which they can thrive. It emphasizes the value of empathy, patience, and open communication in developing healthy relationships and a

sense of belonging.

‘Not So Different After All’ has received great recognition and has impacted the lives of numerous readers since its debut.

Dr. Ogle has received notes of thanks from parents, educators, and autistic people who found peace, motivation, and a feeling of connection in her work.

Dr. Ogle regularly connects with communities through workshops, speaking events, and online resources in addition to her book. She hopes to give useful tools and ideas for increasing autism knowledge and acceptance in schools, businesses, and society at large.

Dr. Ogle’s work goes beyond raising awareness; she is committed to lobbying for policy reforms and better support

systems for people with autism. She aims to have a long-term effect through engaging with organizations, legislators, and community leaders.

When questioned about his goals and objectives, Saleemdeen expresses his

wish to found his own training academy. He credits his father, who has served as a consistent source of inspiration and direction throughout his life, for instilling in him his passion and tenacity. Saleemdeen also expresses appreciation for his mother’s sacrifices and his sister’s inspiration.

Saleemdeen, who has been in Dubai since November 2021, is loving the international atmosphere and diversified culture of the city. He considers Dubai to be a kind and helpful place where he may broaden his horizons and advance his career.

He explains the important lesson he discovered from a math class encounter as he looks back on his path. He received a lesson on the need of preparation after being late for class one day. He has retained this lesson, and he now places a high value on organization and planning in his day-to-day activities.

Saleemdeen uses a goal-oriented strategy to keep grounded and focused. He pursues good habits like getting up early and leading a balanced lifestyle since he thinks that life should be enjoyed to the fullest. Helping others gives him a sense of meaning and purpose, and he donates to charities as much as he can.

His long-term goal is to take care of his family and make sure they are comfortable and happy. His career goals are to advance professionally, with the possibility of becoming the CEO of his own business. He wants to have a positive influence on society and provide a hand to people who are in need.

Hailing from the Northern region of Ghana, Grace Asibi always knew she was destined for greatness. Initially, she juggled being a restaurant operator in Accra while pursuing her fashion dreams. However, as her passion for fashion intensified, she made the bold decision to dedicate herself solely to her fashion brand.

“I’ve always been obsessed with fashion and coming up with unique designs. It brings me joy and fulfillment,” Grace

shares.

The road to success was not without its trials. In 2005, Grace found herself at the center of a cocaine scandal in Ghana, an ordeal that tested her strength and character. Despite facing intense media scrutiny and court battles, she remained resilient and fought to clear her name.

Reflecting on that challenging period, Grace says, “It was a very trying moment for me and my family, but we survived. The experience made me strong and taught me so much about life.”

With her name vindicated and the truth revealed, Grace decided to share her side of the story in her book, “The Cover-up, How I became a scapegoat in a cocaine Scandal,” available on Amazon. Her journey through adversity shaped her approach to life, embracing empathy and understanding for others.

“I learned the importance of understanding everyone and considering their decisions. We come from a diverse community, and unity is crucial,” she states.

Do you remember yourself painting during your childhood years?

Since I was a little kid, I remember myself being a restless, creative and incompatible personality as well. I also liked very much learning, exploring and searching for different ways to express my inner world through the images that I created!

You turned the page from modeling to painting. What happened to cause you to follow that path?

That’s a very good question!! As I have already mentioned as long as I can remember, I totally was of a restless nature, I liked very much exploring even different places. I still studied to become a painter at the School of Fine Arts, when by chance some people suggested I took part in a TV commercial. Then as a hobby, I started modeling and was busy with modeling but for a short time. Apart from my appearance, I always had

an intense inner urge to take up painting again. Painting needs a more intimate way to express its potential. So, at the right time for me, I strongly entered the field of Arts, in which I am totally active until today.

How long have you been working as a painter?

I have been working as a professional painter for almost 10 years. Do you belong to a specific school of art? Describe your style.

Although I do not like putting labels on paintings, I would probably occupy myself more towards abstract expressionism with a specific emphasis on total bright colors.

What materials and tools do you use while painting?

I have already worked with so many different techniques using as the main materials acrylic paints combining them with other materials and tools for the purpose of some tension in the composition of the artwork.

Is painting an extension of an inner train of thoughts?

I totally express some pieces of my mental world and this depends on the categories

of my artwork. In every category, I really express totally different things. For example, when painting flowers my own flowers look like shadows that reach the sky, like an invocation to God. Apart from that in the category with the forests, we meet the metaphysical elements. So, every category is a part of my mental and soul-searching process.

Are you influenced by great painters?

Absolutely, I have admired the work of many painters in Greece and abroad and apart from that I have admired amazing paintings in many museums by great painters on my travels abroad. Surely, I am influenced by the fathers of expressionism like Vincent Van Gogh, and Paul Cezanne. Their work is truly amazing and spectacular. I am also influenced by the later ones of pop artists like Andy Warhol. However, I am trying to find my own personal style so that I can be very happy and also have the honor to leave my own style among my paintings. What career accomplishment are you most proud of and why?

I am very proud of my painting progress so far, for all the exhibitions that I have exhibited my art at various known galleries around the world such as Florence, Switzerland, New York and recently at ‘’Art Basel‘’ in Miami. I am also fully proud because my paintings are included in many private collections! Describe your dream project and disclose some of your future plans.

I have already started and am working on a series of new projects inspired by Formula 1. Apart from that, I have already started a series of paintings including the subject of tankers in shipyards, but they are characterized by a style that I would call industrial romance (Industromance). Above this concept, my next big project will also be relevant to it, my next big individual exhibition, for which I want to believe and hope that it will happen soon and I really want very much to believe that it will be a great success!

Is art important to our society?

Of course, art is extremely important and vital to our society due to the fact that art has been found to protect people’s mental health, elevate spirituality in people and apart from that art is a vital part of our cultural heritage.

With a background in Art History from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut and a certificate in Art Management and Evaluation from ESA Business School, Roger has over a decade of experience in the art industry. He specializes in modern and contemporary art and has a keen eye for discovering emerging artists.

Roger’s journey in the art world began when he started working with Ayyam Art Gallery in Beirut. It was during this time that he realized the immense potential and uniqueness of the art industry, which led him to open his own gallery space. He has always been passionate about art and has dedicated himself to studying and expanding his knowledge in the field.

Before establishing Artbooth Gallery’s physical space, Roger operated a mobile gallery that served as a platform for advising and assisting art collectors with investment-grade art between Beirut and the UAE. Additionally, he worked at The Young Collectors Auction from 2013 to 2016, participating in over 50 auctions that showcased young and emerging artists.

Wraps Shooting In Thailand And The Uae

Nayla Al Khaja, the celebrated Emirati Film Director/ Producer, has successfully wrapped shooting her debut feature film ‘THREE’ in both Thailand and the UAE. This psychological horror film, directed and produced by Nayla Al Khaja and co-written by Ben Williams, features British actor Jefferson Hall, known for his roles in ‘House of the Dragon,’ ‘Halloween,’ and the upcoming Christopher Nolan film ‘Oppenheimer.’

The talented cast also includes Faten Ahmed, Noura Alabed, UAE’s wellknown veteran actor Maree Al Halyan, Mohannad Bin Huthail, and introduces Emirati actor Saud Alzarooni.

‘THREE’ unfolds in the bustling suburbs of a modern-day Middle Eastern city, where a young boy named Ahmed begins exhibiting strange behavior, eventually leading his mother, Maryam, to believe he is possessed. As the plot intensifies; Maryam races against time, seeking the help of a Western Doctor, medical professionals, and ultimately an infamous exorcist, all in an attempt to save her son.

The independent feature was shot in both Thailand and the UAE over a period of 24 days. The production was led by Producer Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki, Daniel Zirilli, Jean-Charles Levy, and Nayla Al Khaja. Serving as Executive Producers are Muna Easa Al Gurg, Jefferson Hall, Siddharth Thakker, and Rasik Thakker.

This film signifies a meaningful milestone in the history of UAE Arab cinema by portraying an Englishman who becomes intricately intertwined with the core of an Emirati family—a situation that is rarely depicted on film.

Al Khaja added: “I am delighted to share that the performances by Jefferson Hall and Saud Alzarooni beautifully capture the stark cultural differences and yet emphasize our shared human needs; healing, connection, and love. ‘THREE’ is a riveting cross-cultural horror film that pulsates with the mesmerizing rhythm of a foreign world.”

Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki said that: “Nayla’s skill and take on storytelling is a good break from the norm of what constitutes as both an Emirati and an Arab film. Currently in post-production, Nayla Al Khaja’s feature film ‘THREE’ promises to deliver an enthralling cinematic experience. Additionally, the filmmaker is already working on her ambitious next project, ‘BAAB,’. The music for ‘BAAB’ will be composed by the twotime Oscar winner, music director A. R. Rahman (known for his work on “Slumdog Millionaire” and “127 Hours”). The shooting for ‘BAAB’ is scheduled to commence in March 2024 in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Global Village recognised as the number one attraction in the UAE in new YouGov report

Global Village, the region’s leading multicultural family destination for entertainment, dining, shopping and attractions, has been recognised as the UAE’s leading attraction in the latest YouGov research ‘Sizzling Summers: Unveiling Leisure and Entertainment Trends in the GCC’.

In the research of over 2,000 respondents from the UAE and KSA, Global Village secured the top spot as the most visited attraction in the UAE over the past 12 months. Nearly two in five UAE residents chose Global Village, making it twice as popular as any other venue showing the broad appeal of Global Village as a family-friendly destination for entertainment, dining, shopping and attractions.

Global Village also topped the list as the attraction that respondent intend to revisit in the next 12 months, with over a third of all those surveyed expressing their intention to visit Global Village within the coming year.

Global Village welcomed a record 9 million guests during Season 27, which saw more than 90 cultures

represented across 27 pavilions as well as 40,000 performances from over 40 different nationalities. Guests were also to experience over 175 rides and attractions, shop and dine at over 3,250 outlets and treated to 77 unique fireworks displays.

Earlier this month Global Village announced extended opening time for Season 28, starting October 18, 2023 to April 28, 2024.
