MORPC Secures FRA Approval and $1 Million for Central Ohio’s Passenger Rail Return.

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has approved Central Ohio for the Corridor Identification and Development (Corridor ID) Program, allocating $500,000 for each of two projects targeting the Cleveland-ColumbusCincinnati-Dayton Corridor (3C+D) and the Midwest Connect (Chicago-Fort Wayne-Columbus-Pittsburgh). This marks a pivotal step in revitalizing passenger rail service. MORPC, in collaboration with the City of Columbus and regional partners, conducted essential studies to lay the groundwork for this initiative. This approval is a significant milestone toward enhancing Central Ohio’s passenger rail service, addressing diverse community needs and fostering regional prosperity.

Nominations are open for the annual Businessperson of the Year Award, celebrating an individual who influences Dublin’s business community. This honor recognizes their positive contributions, leadership, and dedicated service, making Dublin a better place to live and work. Megan O’Callaghan led an Insightful Women in Business Luncheon on Nov. 15 We enjoyed lunch at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, with guest speaker Dublin City Manager Megan O’Callaghan, sponsored by the Women of Cenovus Energy. The event offered a unique opportunity to hear from Megan, who has devoted her career to public service. From Columbus to Dublin, she shared her experiences, from building bridges to fostering cultural connections. Megan emphasized how her career has enriched her life and allowed her to contribute to the city she loves.

HOTWORX Invited Chamber Members to Network at their Dublin Fitness Studio We had a great time networking at our Morning Brew hosted by HOTWORX in Dublin! Chamber Members had the chance to expand their professional networks, connect with fellow members, and vote on the 2024 Chamber budget. Additionally, everyone explored the unique “infrared” heat studio concept, and one lucky person even won a complimentary one-month membership to HOTWORX! It was a fantastic start to the day.
