The studio was set up by sisters Ellie and Katya DuJy in 2000.

Editorial, exhibitions and display Design for us in not an add-on but a way of organising and presenting ideas, research and information to their best advantage. Whether designing a magazine or book, a report or brochure or an exhibition or display, our starting point is to understand what it is we’re helping to communicate and to whom.

Often we function as part of a wider team, helping to define messages from the outset and establishing a way of communicating to target audiences. Sometimes we generate content ourselves, gathering information and writing copy on behalf of our clients.

Our design thinking extends from the overarching issue of communication to drill down into the details of typography, editing and production. We think about words and how they’re presented, and we are experienced at editing for grammar, consistency and style. For print projects we apply our experience of techniques and materials, as well as our knowledge of how best to minimise the environmental impacts of print processes.

We are particularly interested in how people consume information from different media, whether on screen, on the printed page or in display and exhibition contexts.

Identity design Our approach to identity design is defined by our ability to listen and engage as well as our instinct to simplify rather than add to. We are focused on longevity as a key attribute of a good identity. Our work is underpinned by analytical thinking, with our starting point for design being a thoughtful but nonetheless incisive analysis of a situation.

Identity design by Duffy

We aim to create identities that lead inherently and provide a robust visual cue to a supporting design language.
