Come to Poland this year In response to popular demand, we’ve changed – Absolutely Nothing! Have you discovered Poland yet? You haven’t? Wonderful! Because we are going to show you Poland the way it should be seen: Unchanged. From its sophisticated, historic cities to the pristine, unspoiled countryside. As you leaf through our brand-new, 2007 All-Poland travel guide, you’ll be pleasantly surprised, because there are no surprises on tap. You will find all the fine, all-inclusive tours we have been offering you in the past. If you decide to go it on your own (and that’s no problem in America-friendly Poland these days, since more and more people speak English), we offer you the same wide range of car rental companies, spa and wellness programs and special hotel packages, which we have developed. Actually, Poland is Europe in miniature. With all the attractions that brought you this far in the first place. Luxuriously splendid palaces, spectacular castles dramatically perched on craggy mountain tops. Forests primeval, towering mountains and romantic seashores. There are sleepy villages, which time seems to have passed by, where life is still practiced along traditional ways and, at the other end of the spectrum, world-class cities with all the comforts and conveniences of the 21st century. On an American Travel Abroad tour, we expose you to all this – and more. Great art. Memorable musical adventures. Unforgettable monuments. Deeply moving religious experiences. Lavish meals and a very lively night scene.

Make your choice among eight all-inclusive tours. From a brief overview of basic Poland (8 days visiting Warsaw, Krakow, Czestochowa, Auschwitz, Zakopane) to a comprehensive 15-day journey exploring Poland’s north, west, south and center. We have tours that delve into Polish folklore, spend time at renowned castles and palaces or recall the country’s religious past. It’s a versatile lot. For independent travelers, there are prescribed itineraries by train or independent explorations in a rental car. (We shall be happy to work out custom itineraries that fit your time, interests and budget.) How do you get to Poland? With LOT Polish Airlines, naturally. The fast, non-stop way to Warsaw and Krakow from New York, Newark and Chicago. You are in Poland the moment you step aboard LOT’s smooth, comfortable, wide-bodied 767s. There’s no better way. Come and experience Poland our way this year. It’s the journey you have always dreamed about. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

CREDIT CARDS An increasing number of establishments in Poland accept credit cards. Among the most popular are American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Carte Blanche, Diner’s Club, Eurocard.

MOTOR VEHICLES & DRIVING U.S. and Canadian driver’s licenses are honored in Poland only in conjunction with an International Driver’s License, available at any AAA office for a fee.

TELEPHONE Major cities and towns in Poland can be reached directly from the United States by dialing “0-11-48” (country code for Poland) followed by the city code and the telephone number. To connect directly from Poland with most European countries, U.S.A. and Canada, one has to dial “0”, listen for a steady tone, then dial “0” again, followed by the country code, area code and the proper number.

RAILROAD Utilizing an extensive network of routes and connections, rail is by far the most common and convenient way to get around Poland. Furthermore, rail is an excellent way for a traveler to reach major cities and capitals of Europe. The EuroCity (EC) and the InterCity (IC) trains offer rapid and regular service between major points of interest for the domestic and foreign traveler alike. Complimentary snacks are served on all IC trains.

The coldest winter months are January and February, when average temperatures drop to a few degrees below freezing. During exceptionally cold winters, temperatures as low as -22°F have been recorded.
