Joe biden stopped off at The Food House on Clanbrassil street during a walkabout of Dundalk on Wednesday, April 12.

President biden stopped at The Food House to buy some sweet treats and greet staff members and wave to excited onlookers.

The Food House, a gourmet food store and deli, is owned by Jerome McAteer and his husband, bobby Wain.

President biden bought lemon meringue, chocolate eclairs, bread and butter pudding, pear and almond cake, as well as a mug with an image of a dog on it.

He paid with a €50 note and gave a €10 euro tip to some of the workers who have special needs.

Later that day, President biden and his entourage stopped at The Windsor bar on Dublin street, Dundalk.

Geough, told The Dundalk Leader that the visit went “extremely well looking back on it now”.

“it was all organised at short notice. it wasn’t confirmed until Tuesday afternoon. it was all fairly helter skelter after we got the confirmation,” said Donal.
