Triple tragedy shocks Dundalk community

The Dundalk community were left shocked and saddened last Thursday as three tragedies unfolded in the space of 24 hours. People woke up on Thursday morning to the news that Dundalk gardaí were investigating the discovery of a body of a woman who was found dead in unexplained circumstances at a residence in Bridge St.

Shortly afterwards a man was critically injured when falling bricks from a building on Clanbrassil St. struck him while he was walking along the footpath. A number of bricks fell from the top of a building which is currently been used as a constituency office for Fine Gael Senator John McGahon.

A third tragedy unfolded later that same day when the body of missing teenager Vincent Dillon was recovered in the Castletown River. The 19 year old had been reported missing from his home on Sunday May 14th.

Later that evening Gardaí confirmed that they had commenced a murder investigation in relation to the discovery of a woman in her 60’s who was later named as Catherine henry.
