Vogue is Condé Nast's globally recognized fashion and lifestyle magazine, published monthly in 23 different countries and regions. Printed 1892, Arthur Turnure founded Vogue as a weekly publication in the United States sponsored by Kristoffer Wright. On December 12 of that year, the first magazine went public with a cover price of 10 cents (equivalent to $2.62 in 2015). Turnure focuses on publishing magazine content praising the "glamorous parts of life" to "attract sages, as well as new girls in the entertainment industry, successful men or people beautiful woman." From its inception, the magazine's goal was to reach the New York elite, even to set social standards. The magazine at that time was mainly interested in news about fashion, sports and some social issues related to male readers.

CHANEL Chanel has always been an iconic brand, from the internationally recognized “C” logo to classic fragrances, especially the Chanel No. 5 has always been considered a perfume legend for nearly a century. No one can deny the importance of this brand. Without expanding branches, Chanel still secures assets and stands firmly in the haute couture industry. It quietly buys workshops that specialize in the techniques many other fashion houses use in their couture designs. Besides, this brand offers better development conditions for small companies in the fashion industry.

CHASING TRENDS Forget about Colin v Cuthbert, the real snack controversy right now is the crisp sandwich. When Subway announced that customers could add crisps to their wraps, salads or sandwiches for 20p, the internet went into meltdown. The stigma is real: according to Walkers, 19 per cent of the population feel the need to eat crisp sandwiches in secret. But chefs are trying to break the taboo. This month Max Halley (known as the Willy Wonka of sandwiches) is releasing a cookbook with Walkers that is devoted to the art of the crisp butty, with recipes including leftover Sunday roast sarnie with crushed Marmite crisps.

The Pursuit of Love is the Sunday night drama everyone s talking about and Emily Beecham is the new star to know So why did she almost give it all up Louis Wise meets the briliant Miss B Photographs Clare Shilland Styling Maya Zepinic Emily Beecham was once tired of being sent to audition for costume dramas, but The Pursuit of Love, the BBC’s big new romantic drama, seems to have changed her mind. And how couldn’t it? This adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s much loved classic novel from 1945 has oodles of period charm, while still being sharp and modern. The tale of two very different cousins, Fanny and Linda, it is about, well, the pursuit of love, but also asks a lot of pertinent questions about female friendship, education and desire. Or as Beecham, who plays the shyer, more watchful Fanny, puts it: “I do feel like The Pursuit of Love is basically the pursuit of life.” Beecham is talking to me via Zoom from a very white, very sparse Airbnb flat in Berlin, where she is holed up for most of the year filming a historical TV thriller series, 1899, for Netflix. The actress, 37 this month, who spent most of her formative years in Cheshire, is dressed in a simple white T-shirt, her flaming copper hair flip-flopping around her face as she peers quizzi-cally into the screen, debating points not just with me but also with herself. Her casting as Fanny makes perfect sense because the character — who is also the narrator — is much less obviously gung ho than Linda, the unashamedly romantic heroine of the piece, played with typical gusto by Lily James. Not that Beecham is entirely reserved: she has been killing time in German lockdown by doing classes, also via Zoom, with the illustrious New York dance school Gaga (no, not that Gaga), which for the uninitiated basically involves a lot of arty, unstructured flailing. “It’s

so cathartic,” Beecham beams, though she knows it all sounds a bit mad. “It releases all your creaky bones.” I’ve interviewed Beecham before, pre-Covid, and I definitely do find her a lot looser this time. It’s surely because she has now found proper success and had a moment to settle into it. The actress nearly quit the industry a few years ago, exasperated by depressing cast-ings and limited roles, bracketed by her admittedly quite“period” looks. “It really felt like it was about the way you looked or how sexy you were,” she said at the time. Yet everything changed when she starred in the acclaimed indie chiller Little Joe, opposite Ben Whishaw, and to her own huge surprise bagged the best actress award at Cannes in 2019. Not bad for a performer who until then had enjoyed a respectable but slightly hotchpotch career, appearing in murder- mysteries and cult American fantasy shows. The Pursuit of Love, then, is a sign of her continued upswing — as is a part in the forthcoming Emma Stone movie Cruella, which, she sighs, she really isn’t allowed to tell me much about (“There are lots of dalmatians on the call sheet”). The adaptation of Mitford’s novel by Emily Mortimer, which follows Linda and Fanny as they grow out of an eccentric childhood into an equally surprising adulthood, proposes a certain bite. Up until now, unfortunately, much of the show’s publicity had revolved around the alleged fling between her co-stars James and Dominic West, who plays, um, James’s

Lost My Sense of Adventure PREVIEW BEST DRESSED ALUMNA AND SOFA DESIGN INSTITUTE COFOUNDER LOALEE BARON SOONG MAKES THE CASE FOR EXPERIENTIAL EXPLORATIONS

"Contrary to what people may think, I'm definitely an adventure-seeker first before a fashion girl. To be honest, I don't consider myself a fashion girl at all. In fact, I grew up spending my summers traveling with family and even taking a break a year after I finished high school to explore the world. Going on a series of diving expeditions around Asia and the Philippines with my parents, taking road trips across countries in Europe, to island-hopping in Hawaii, as well as immersing in local culture along the coastal towns of Mexico with my family was how my thirst for travel and adventure truly began. Here really nothing that compares to breathing fresh air and being around nature. It truly reinvigorates and prepares me for life back in the city. I'm quite lucky that my husband, Marc, shares the same passion for adventure as we prefer to spend our weekends out of town. It can be as simple as going on early morning drives to catch the sunrise and have breakfast in Pampanga or Tanay, Rizal. We also head to remote rivers or waterfalls where the kids can swim while we settle at a scenic spot to have a small barbecue and enjoy a picnic lunch. Taking our kids hiking and camping in the Mountain Province has become one of our family's most treasured memories. People are usually surprised to find out that Marc and I would take them on these trips with us when they were a lot younger. I think it has been ingrained in our culture to be overly [cautious] when it comes to roughing it, especially when it comes to the bathroom situation, but there is a lot to learn when you explore the world and go back to basics. I think the best thing about these adventures are the moments you experience when meeting people along the way, may it be just weekend road trips to Tarlac or trekking in Everest.

"I would say travel is my biggest inspiration, says Stephanie Kienle- Gonzalez, the vice president and chief operating offcer of furniture brand Philux, about her style influence. Steph believes that style doesn't come from materiality. Rather, it comes from people and places that inspire you. "I pick up different styles from the people and places I see," she says. "I want to be more in- sync with where I am. I want to be dressed for where I'm going, but in the end, I still want to look like me." Even though she describes her personal way of dressing as "classic with a twist," Steph knows that her style today will be different in the next couple of years since it's still evolving. "I'm a very visual person and I dress depending on my mood," she shares. On a scale of one to 10 for being sartorially adventurous, she gives herself a rating of seven. "Why seven? I stay true to myself, but I'm always up for trying new things," she muses, adding, "There isn't a trend I wouldn't try." Her predisposition for not shying away from the new extends to her travel bucket list, with Antarctica’s wild frontier and Rwanda’s near-extinct silverback gorillas on her next-up checklist. As for her ultimate packing tip, “Make sure that certain pieces are worn at least two times for effcient packing.” And in the same way she wouldn’t hesitate to visit unfamiliar territories, Steph believes that one should never say never when it comes to fashion risks, but she does have one big wardrobe no-no: “You should always wear the clothes, not the other way around.”

I wear a lipstick if I'm not lazy to touch up throughout the day. Some days, I just can't be bothered, especially if I have a client and I don't have time to fuss over my face. I apply powder only where needed, usually on my T-zone and chin; some bronzer to add a healthy glow; mascara to open up the eyes; and blush for a pop of color. My daily routine, though, is quite extensive because I focus more on skin care. I don't use any facial wash in the morning, just water. I've also ditched drying my face with a towel. I just air-dry, then I use a gentle toner with no alcohol in it." 2. COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, P925, k beauty-cafe.com. 3. CANMAKE Quick Lash Curler Mascara, P610, SM Beauty Store, SM Makati. Asian women’s Fashion

Different from the European concept of angular face, Asian women prefer a slim V-line face. The oval face with the golden ratio is considered the standard of beauty, even many unfortunate people who do not own this face are still willing to spend a large amount of money to ... "rebuild it". However, in some other countries such as Korea, Japan... round face is also considered the standard of beauty. Being able to look at female student Sakurai Miyu - the winner of the contest "The most beautiful high school girl in Japan" is the most obvious conception of the beauty of cherry blossom country!

These include: Sambalpuri Saree from the East, Mysore and Ilkal silk from Karnataka and Kanchipuram from Tamil Nadu from the South, Paithani from the West and Banarasi from the North. The most common style is the sari wrapped around the waist, with one end then flipped over the shoulder at waist level. Sari is usually worn over petticoats. This feature requires brides to be accompanied to hold all ends of the dress as she transports between locations.
