Natural Hair Series *A Natural Hair Care Journey Saturday, Feb. 1 3 - 4 p.m. Join Dr. Shauntae White, NCCU Communication Professor, as she discusses natural hair from a historical perspective. Dr. White will also provide insight about the Natural Hair Care Movement and her own experience being natural and a First Lady of a church.
*I Love My Hair Thursday, Feb. 6 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. April Thorpe, owner of Miss April’s Beads and Braids, will reflect and share styling techniques for parents and teenagers. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Book reviews will be published on the teen bulletin board, website and Facebook page. Cupcake Decorating Wednesdays, Dec. 11; Feb. 12 2 - 3 p.m. Join us on Early Release Days, and learn how to decorate a cupcake with Chef Pam.
Digital Photo Black History Scavenger Hunt Feb. 3-28 Explore and discover Durham’s rich heritage by using a camera or Smartphone to capture images of historical landmarks within a five-mile radius of the Main Library. Find the list of items on our website at durhamcountylibrary.org and click on Teens. Once you find all the items on the list, email your pictures to mainteens@gmail.com. The first teen to complete the scavenger hunt will receive a prize.
DIY Spa Day Monday, Feb. 17 2 - 3 p.m. Do you feel stressed out? Learn techniques to help manage stress while enjoying a relaxing do-it-yourself spa treatment. Healthy snacks and soothing music will be provided. *Registration is required.
