MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello Dougherty Valley Key Clubbers! Can you believe that it has been a month since District Convention has ended? Can you believe that we have less than a few days of school left? Time flies by quickly and with that said, please keep in mind that we will have events over the summer! From helping out at parades to boba fundraisers, service events to division council meetings, these events are guaranteed to keep you up and excited over the break!! Hope to see you amazing devils at one of these events! Also, thank you so much for those who supported us at our CultureFest fundraiser!! We raised over $100 in that event and ALL of the proceeds will go towards our preferred charities, Project Eliminate and the Pediatric Trauma Program! Keep up the amazing work!!! That’s it for now blue devils!! Unless I see you at one of our summer events, see you next year and have an amazing summer!!! Love, President Andrew Chuang
MESSAGE FROM THE NEWS EDITOR Hey Guys! We have a HANDFUL of days left in this school year. You all may have mixed emotions about the future. Whether it be about leaving Dougherty and heading off to college or getting closer to writing college applications. You may even be resting from AP Exams and/or preparing for finals week(which is next week.. Happy Dead Week).! Although I am a tiny little freshman, you are all strong-hearted people who can succeed in the days ahead. I want to congratulate ALL of you for getting this far in the school year. The road ahead of all of us is still long, I wish the best for all of you on your journeys in the future. . That being said, Key Club will still be alive in the summer! Sadly I will be gone for a chunk of that time, but I hope you can all attend some service events! This is also the last newsletter I will be creating for the 2015-16 school year :(. BUT! I will try and post on the website during the summer. I hope your last DVKC 2015-16 school year meeting was fantastic! Have an Bee-tastic Summer! -News Editor, Jonathan Lum Dougherty Valley Key Club Newsletter

Every nine minutes, a newborn baby dies from Tetanus. It is excruciating, and a mother can only watch. The baby’s sensitivity to light, sound, and contact prevents even the comfort of her touch. YOU can help protect that connection. The worldwide Kiwanis Family is joining forces with Unicef for The Eliminate project: Kiwanis Eliminating Maternal And Neonatal Tetanus. It’s time to do your part.

Member of the Month April
Sihyun Na Sihyun Na is a freshman at our school as well. Sihyun was chosen as one of our Members of the Month for April 2016, was because of her high meeting attendance. Her attendance at these meetings shows her dedication to Key Club. As well, our president appreciates her attendance, because of how member numbers at meetings began to dwindle in the latter part of March.
Congratulations Sihyun for being one of DVKC’s April 2016 Members of the Month!
